career by enrolling in the renowned Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University. He
received his medical degree from Yeshiva in 1991.
Donald Sonn entered Medical Residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center shortly after his
Yeshiva graduation, joining the institution’s Department of Surgery Residency Program in July of
1991. After nearly two years as a resident in the Department of Surgery, Sonn entered the next phase of
his residency at the center’s Department of Urology, a position he enjoyed from 1993 to 1996. The
work, commitment and passion he displayed as a Long Island Jewish Medical Center resident earned
him the post of Department of Urology Chief Resident in 1996, a position he proudly held until June of
1997. His career at the Urology Group of Western New England began shortly thereafter.
