eambuilding activities can be a wonderful way for personnel to establish rapport
with one another and improve workplace cooperation, communication, and
relationships. But, many teambuilding functions fail because the employees didn't
learn new behaviors or reverted to their original behaviors when they returned the
workplace.
To guarantee that your teambuilding activities will be successful, here are some
tips.
Identify objectives - One element to a productive teambuilding function is a
specific goal. Establish the purpose for the function in advance, either by
conveying it formally via an action plan or by way of informal discussions with the
employees who will take part in it. By identifying distinct objectives, there is a
better likelihood that real change will spring from your team building event.
Remember though that the bigger and more complex your goal is, the longer the
teambuilding activity might need to be.
Select a suitable and fun teambuilding task - Needless to say, you would want
your team to have a great time together as they strengthen relationships and
communication skills. Then again, fun should never be given more importance
than learning. When picking tasks for the session, look for those that are highly
relevant to your goals. For example, if your personnel are having problems with a
recent change, pick activities that evaluate how change impacts the organization’s
interactions and results. If you want your team to know how individual
personalities can impact the work environment, consider events just like bike
building, where you band together as a team to create a bike. This exercise can also
be made more purposeful by donating the bicycles you produced to your selected
charity. This activity gives your workers an opportunity to try a new challenge and

they will welcome a break from their routine and leave the activity with revitalized
energy and a more positive attitude.
Debrief after the activity - To have
sustained results, don't forget to perform a
debriefing session after the teambuilding
exercise. Ask the attendees some questions
to how the exercise can be used in work. For
