The masthead will be called turn up because this
phrase is used a lot by teens that use slang when they
communicate with their peers. In addition, this phrase
is commonly used in many hip hop songs.
3. GGeennrree::
The genres of my magazine will be hip hop an d r’n’b.
These are urban genres that a lot of younger people listen
to. Although these are not the genres I focused on for my
task 2, however I think they can still be linked together.
4. CCoonntteenntt
I will feature many known artists such as Drake, Chris
Brown, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Jhene
Aiko as well as Jessie J, Tinie Tempah and more. The
magazine will include information about when artists ae on
tour or performing at concerts.
More importantly, I will give out free cd’s of many artists that
feature in the magazine as well as up and coming artists
that haven’t yet been ‘discovered’. Each issue will focus on
some artists giving readers the latest news about their
personal life and updates on their latest songs.
5. PPuubblliisshheerr
My publisher will be Harris Publications. I chose this as
they are a well established publisher that publishes hip
hop magazines such as XXL. Harris publications released
their first issue of XXL which featured rappers such as
Jay Z and Master P.
6. My target audience will be a variety and teenagers
and young adults with an age range of roughly 13 and
above. The magazine is aimed at both males and
females. It is aimed at teenagers because younger
children cant be exposed to explicit and exclusive
news involving artists current affairs.
