• Copper has been found in several different parts of the
world, with the oldest copper items found in the Middle East
about 10,000 years ago.
• Many people believe Copper was the first element to ever be
discovered, while others believe Gold was used before it.
• Copper has been used for thousands of years, so no one
knows who discovered this element.
• Copper may have been used around 9000 BC in Iraq
• Methods for refining copper from its ores were discovered
around 5000BC and a 1000 or so years later it was being used
in pottery in North Africa.

6. Uses & Impact on Human Life
• Copper is a very important element. Its aids blood vessel
formation, maintains a healthy heart, aids in skin elasticity and
stabilizes the connective tissue that binds one part of the body to
another. It has other uses, too. It is used to make pennies, a form
of money. Copper coils is another use for it. It is also used to
make jewelry like necklaces and rings.
