Chemists make life better. One way is by playing an important part in the design and
understanding of new therapeutic treatments. Transition metals have a rich chemistry
and many can interact with the body in fascinating ways, come and find out more.
Whether you’re 8 or 80…. have a Chemistry PhD, or never quite managed at GCSE…
there’ll be something for you!

By car: University Road; at the roundabout near Vanburgh College follow the signs to
the NSLC. Ample parking.
By bus: First York No 4 to University Road. Alight at Vanburgh College and follow the
signs to the NSLC.

This lecture is the eighth of an annual series to raise appreciation of Science offered
for the community by the National Science Learning Centre and Archbishop Holgate’s
School in conjunction with RAISE, Science City York, and the University of York.
Lecture and refreshments are free of charge.
