The Other Wes Moore 's Life Problems
The situations that both Wes Moore's experience throughout the story The Other Wes Moore are real
life problems that people face each and every day. But what is being done to change this? Every day
people fall victim to things such as racism, assimilation, political and economic power, and
tokenism. Yet, there are ways to help people who are experiencing problems such as these. The only
thing that needs to be done is to have enough people stand up for these problems. Whether the
solutions to these problems are macro, or micro, there needs to be some sort of effort to help the
people who experience these sorts of oppressions. One major issue that the other Wes Moore's
mother experiences is not being able to get an education due to a lack of funding. Mary had become
pregnant at the age of 16 and was unable to continue her education. While she was just barely
providing for her family through side jobs the paid minimum wage, she was also trying to receive an
education by attending John Hopkins University. She was able to do this through a program of Pell
Grants. She was only able to get 16 credits done when government decided to quit funding the Pell
Grants. Mary, along with many others trying to receive a college education, was unable to finish her
education. Due to the cut in funding Mary could no longer afford it. Without being able to receive a
college education, Mary would continue to live in poverty because without an education she would
not be able to get a good job.

Persuasive Essay : Why Homework Helps Many Health And Life...
What are your thoughts about homework? Do you think that it actually helps you or do you think
that it is non–beneficial for you? Imagine a world without homework. Numerous people may argue
that homework is great as it really helps one understand the material and obtain improved grades.
On the other hand, some disagree and say that homework is bad for oneself and creates many health
and life problems. Homework should not exist as it does create too many problems with one's health
and life, and would be better if the youth in school did not need to do homework. The majority of
students absolutely loath homework and life would be so much better without it. Stress and high
blood pressure, less time for interests, doing work on top of going to school, and not making a
difference with understanding the material and getting good grades are all reasons why homework is
an issue. To begin, homework creates way too much stress for students and raises their blood
pressure, which is definitely poor for one's health, especially at such a young age. This stress is due
to having loads of pressure to complete it all and being overworked. In my case, having several
hours of homework almost every night and worrying about finishing everything puts a lot of stress
on me and makes me feel sick. If it starts at a young age, it will only continue to build up as the kids
get older, which could cause serious problems. Researchers from Stanford did a study on homework
that show that "56 percent of

Systemic Reframe Essay
Systemic reframe: When the clients engage in explain each one's views of the problem, the therapist
will engage in systematic reframing. A technique used to view the problem in different ways by
using each person's view. Meaning after everyone has shared, the therapist will help reframe the
situation in a wider manner. Involves removing the blame from the target client, and letting each
person describe the problem, this will help them identify that all the comments have led to the
problem.
Example: A 14–year–old boy expresses to his therapist that he and his mom continue to argue about
him meeting his friends after soccer practice which ends at 6:30pm. He would like his mom to
accept and let him go by himself. The therapist expresses to the teen "You can tell how much your
mom loves you and takes care of you." Therapist also explains the dangers of walking by himself in
the night. Meaning the teen will probably now understand his moms concern and maybe ask her to
take him to meet his friends so he is not alone on the streets.
First and second order change:
First order change: does not modify the problem, does not impact the system rules.

debate. Therapist gets involved and tells mom, "maybe give him some time to recuperate and not
pressuring him. Therapist tells teen, you should try doing some light sports maybe walking and the
jogging, or maybe swimming, so you can lose fear, ad get comfortable again to play the sports you
would like. So, in this case the therapist listens to both arguments, and gives his opinion too both,

Essay on Failed Relationships
We live our lives waiting for who we think is the perfect person, but in reality that never happens.
When we hear the word relationship, we think of a man and a woman. Being in a relationship is
more than just being intimate. There are different kinds of relationship such as husbands and wives,
parent and child, or just friend to friend. Some people say it takes two people to make a relationship
fail. When two people meet, they usually know from the begining if they want to be with that person
or if they want to pursue a relationship.
When a relationship fails, it is because one or both parties involved gives up. Giving up on a
relationship is always hard because it means someone's feelings are going to be ... Show more

Some people cheat with the hope of never being caught. Another reason why relationships fail are
because of children, some people having children will help in reality it only makes worse. On the
other hand, if a person may bring their child or children into the relationship, and the child and the
other partner does not get along that usually cause a big problem.
Communication is the number one key to a good relationship. When there is no communication
between both parties involved in the relationship, that is when the relationship fails whether it is a
man and a woman, or a child trying to divorce his/her parents or friends cutting their ties forever.
When couples realize their relationship is starting to fail, they will try different things such as
marriage counseling. That is when the couple will sit down with a therapist and they will try to work
their problems out. Sometimes therapy can help the couples work their issues out and get to the root
of their problems. Another solution is a vacation or a second honeymoon where they can reconcile
or rekindle the relationship that they use to have. Or even as far as moving away to get a new start
on life, to try to get away from the old way of how things use to be and try to start a new life
together again.
In a relationship, we have to know what we can, and cannot live without. Being in a relationship
means nothing, no one is perfect and in a relationship, there

Life Cycle Of A Social Problem Essay
The Life Cycle of a Social Problem      A social problem is a
condition that a group of people view as being undesirable. These can be a variety of different
“problems. They can occur in your community, school, church or any place that people
interact with each other or an object. When a social problem arises there is a general way that they
are handled.      The earliest of definition on how a social problem
is reconized was made by Richard Fuller and Richard Myers. There cycle had three stages. The first
stage was that the group had to some situation or behavior as a problem. Once they stated that there
was a problem the next step was to transforms the situation or beahvior into a ... Show more content

This is the most important part of the life cycle of a social problem . This part have huge impact on
how and what solutions are considered. During this debate there are a couple of various causal
interpretations. One of these is a systematic attribution which the critical approach leans towards. In
way of thinking the system itself is problematic and generates difficulties for the individual. This
means that the issue is a problem and the person or group of people that brought forth this issue will
have to show why it is a problem in the social world. This can difficult situation which is a norm
when trying to change something. The next way of interpreting a situation is called personal
attribution. This is primarily used by dominated groups and also public officials. They use this
because it is much easier to blame the person or group that has brought this issue into public light
then to try to fixing it. Once all sides has said there peace the last part of this step is complex
bargaining between both sides.      The last stage of the life cycle
of a social problem is that of a resolution. Power is the number one way on how the solution is
going to come about and what solutions are going to be even considered to be a way to solve the
issue at hand. People in power determine four basic things. They first have the decision on if the
issue will even reach the

The Effects of Sociocultural Factors on Individuals Essay
Swami Nirmalananda, a disciple of the Indian mystic Ramakrishna, once said "Our modern society
is engaged in polishing and decorating the cage in which man is kept imprisoned." Society is seen as
a cage by many because the cultural beliefs that make up the society are what guide the actions and
behaviors of those people within. Sometimes the culture in societies result in helping people develop
successfully and positively, but this is not always the case. For instance, societies that were
challenged by racism during the mid–twentieth century were marked by rage and were the causes of
some troublesome lives. In two short stories set during the mid–twentieth century, "Sonny's Blues,"
by James Baldwin and "The Man Who Was Almost a Man," by ... Show more content on

While Sonny's father was alive, Sonny would often fight with him, and after fighting "Sonny just
moves back, inside himself, where he can't be reached" (42). Also, after Sonny's mother passed
away, it was only Sonny and his brother; however, the two were separated for a long period of time.
Having support or being cared for by family members is invaluable, but Sonny did not have this and
it ultimately resulted in one of the reasons for his troubled life. In Richard Wright's short story "The
Man Who Was Almost a Man" the main character, Dave Saunders, also faces a problem which can
be similarly traced to sociocultural factors. While shooting his gun for the first time Dave
accidentally shoots his boss', Mr. Hawkins, mule, and the mule dies. The only reason Dave
purchased a gun in the first place was to prove to the others in society, specifically those who
worked alongside him at Mr. Hawkins' plantation, that he was not a boy anymore, but rather a man.
While working on Mr. Hawkins' plantation Dave is often humiliated by the older workers because
they think "[he] ain't nothing but a boy (878). Also, the narrator states near the end of the story that a
group of people that has gathered around the dead mule on the plantation laughs at Dave as he is
walking away with tear–filled eyes (886). Once again this emphasizes that he receives no respect
from the others. Mr. Hawkins' plantation is similar to the social environment in Harlem described in
"Sonny's Blues". Both

My Personal Life : The Problems Of My Life
I've only been in school for a few days and I can already tell, this isn't going to be like other years.
Not only did I get to choose the classes I took, but I can also start to get an idea of what it is I want
to do with my life. I'm taking all honors classes, but that's more because mom wanted me to.
However, if it were up to me, I still probably would've taken classes that challenge me because I
would most likely get bored in other classes. Mom's still dead set on me getting into the National
Honor Society and going to K–State. Despite mom's persistence, dad doesn't particularly care about
school as long as I'm participating in a sport and not failing my classes. The problems of my
personal life seem insignificant to the problems going on in the world. Donald Trump was elected
president on my fourteenth birthday. He's not even through his first year and there have been riots,
the minor threat of nuclear war, and more investigations into his presidency than I ever thought
possible. Basically, the world is just beginning to realize that the way we've been living isn't how we
can continue to live, and people are not happy. A few of those unhappy people have been friends of
mine. Because of this, we're no longer friends. It wasn't a minor difference in political opinion that
caused our separation, it was a disagreement about serious topics that have affected my family and I
personally.
Besides those few people that I'm no longer friends with, I have a pretty strong

Taught Financial Literacy
All Students Should be Taught Financial Literacy
In school, students are taught about Math, Language, Social Studies, History. We get taught things
that do not apply to the real world. We do not get taught how to save money for our futures and we
also do not get informed on how there are not many jobs open for our generation in the future which
is a problem. As you can see, if we do not learn about this topic at an early age, and it can act as a
potential liability to our future endeavours which results in an overall negative impact on our lives.
Being in debt is very stressful, it is like having overdue homework. You have so much to pay off and
it eventually gets all piled up and you do not have enough money to pay it off. ... Show more content

Once you learn something at an earlier point in life, it is most likely to stay with you throughout
your whole life. When a baby is born and it hears its family speaking in a certain language, it then
starts to store those words in its brain and also starts to speak that language, that language is most
likely to stay with that kid unless that kid starts to speak 2 languages. And just like that, when you
are taught about financial literacy at a younger age, that information that is given to you is most
likely going to be stored in your brain for most of your life. Not being taught about financial literacy
can lead to having a heart attack, weight gain/loss problems, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure,
substance abuse, etc. I know a few people that are confused and stressed about their future jobs,
their current jobs, managing bills, etc, and I always ask them what they would want to do to fix and
and their response is "I wish I was taught about what financial problems could lead to." , and so that
is another great reason to why financial literacy classes should be a subject. The pros in learning
about financial literacy at a younger age can lead to living a better quality of life, lesser health
problems (I have listed them above), and minor financial problems.
These are my reasons to why Financial Literacy classes should be taught. Not having much
information about Financial Literacy can lead to

Academic Study of Problem Solving and Thinking Related to...
Academic study of problem solving and thinking related to everyday life Every day individuals are
faced with many different problems for example deciding what to wear, finding a suitable place to
park your car or even completing an assignment. Whatever the problem is, 'problem solving is
defined as any goal–directed sequence of cognitive operations', as suggested by Anderson (1980,
p.257). There has been a vast amount of research on human problem solving which has provided a
better understanding of the processes involved in problem solving. An evaluation of a range of
theories related to human problem solving and thinking will be introduced such as information
theory, transfer of learning and Gestalt theory and critiqued with examples ... Show more content on

Robertson, 2001 also suggested that information processing system is not realistic due to the reason
that it involves prime levels of motivation and arousal, the knowledge of a guaranteed solution in
the Tower of Hanoi can explain individuals motivation and arousal as they are trying to solve the
problem although in another problem where the knowledge of solution is unclear fatigue and
boredom can take affect which therefore also suggest that it cannot be applied to other solutions.
Transfer of learning approach is another main topic in human problem solving; it outlines the
influence of previous knowledge on solving a problem. An individual uses past situations and recalls
the outcome of that situation and applies the knowledge to a similar problem they may face now. An
example of this would be a person is getting late for work and parks their car near the office
however receives a parking ticket although the outcome was negative they would use this
experience to either leave home early to find a suitable space or to check next time if they are able to
park in the space. Another example would be driving, a person driving will have drove a number of
times however each time they drive they will encounter many different situations such as
pedestrians walking out in the middle of the road, other vehicles speeding or the change of weather.
However these situations will have been similarly experienced before and the driver will have skills

Reflection Of Retreat
Howdy friends, I just came back from a fantastic retreat with my young adult friends from Times
Square Church. To say this retreat was great will be an understatement! It's amazing how God can
alter one's plan for His purpose. My intention was just to go there and take a break from a hectic
week from school and troubles of NYC. Didn't know that God had other plans for me. While on the
bus to the venue of the retreat, I had a quiet moment with the Lord. My desire later changed from
actually wanting to just have fun, to wanting a divine connection with the Lord. This retreat
wouldn't be the first I would be attending, but I wanted this to be different from the other ones.
The theme of our retreat was IDENTITY, and it was what drew me to want to attend. Knowing who
you are in Christ as I learned at the retreat, is important because so often, we let the world define us,
instead of what God defines us. I AM A GIANT KILLER AND NOT A GRASSHOPPER! It is my
prayer for this generation that we come to know who we are in Christ, especially now that we are
living in the last days. During the preacher's sermon, he said something that had me thinking. He
said, "until we define our relationship with God, we will always have problems with our friendships
and relationships with others." I won't dwell on this, but you should think about that statement.
Still not content, I asked God to give me a word when I went to bed that night. I was expecting to
get a revelation or something in the

White and Klein (2008) goals should be meaningful to the patient and show how interactions with
others will be different. In addition, goals should be situational to terms, able to be completed with

greater confidence and engagement in students that have academic and emotional difficulties.
Children and adolescents often have a hard time being placed at in foster care homes. According to

Bad Problems In My Life
Bad things happen to everyone. Everyone has their problems but life still will go on, whether you
want it to or not. My timeline shows problems that I had throughout the past 17 years of my life. I
had surgerys, and i've hurt myself too many time to count, but I kept on going. Even when I was
young, I pushed past all those problems, and I still have continued to succeed today. I do things I
need to do to get where I want to be later, whether it was something small of something big for me, I
got it done. I took some time off, I got better, and I didn't let these downfalls slow me down. I got
sick often when I was younger, so the liquids would drain from my sinuses and into my ears, but my
ears would not drain. I got tubes put in my ears to help drain some of that liquid. When kids get
tubes put in their ears they have to be put to sleep. Once you get out of the hospital the next couple
of days you were told to just rest, I guess I was just a hard–head back then because I did not listen. I
was up trying to play within thirty minutes of being home. I sprained my ankle at a softball game. I
went to the hospital, they gave me the things I needed: crutches, the blue stabilizer thing. I never had
to use crutches before, so I never knew how to use them. I was a kid back then, so I didn't want to
stay in bed. I wanted to go to all my dad's co–ed softball games. I fell so many times on the
crutches, I probably would of walked better and faster just by walking regularly. I had to

The Mystery Of Life Is Not A Problem
" The mystery of life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced."– Kimberly.
There are many mysteries out in the world and many people do not know the outcome of ones
journey, but exploring and experiencing new things is something that one should not be afraid of.
Amelia Earhart was an out going person. She was the type of person who was always curious and
enjoyed the rush of an adventure. When she was younger she was a tomboy who did not really care
about all of the girly stuff. This expressed her personality because she liked doing things that most
people found impossible. Amelia was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in an airplane.
Many people would probably be scared to do that because of the unknown as Kimberly mention in
her quote. Earhart did everything with a passion as she shared her experiences and knowledge with
others so that they can also enjoy it. Amelia Earhart is admirable not only because she changed
history, but because she did everything with a passion, and she shared her experiences and
knowledge with others so that they could also enjoy them.
Amelia's childhood was full of adventure and traveling the world. Amelia Earhart was born July 24,
1897, she grew up in Atchison, Kansas. Earhart grew up with her sister Muriel, her father and
mother, and her grandparents. Amelia was born in her grandparent's house. (Netzley 12 ; Netzley

Narrative Therapy: A Case Study
Narrative therapy was the primary intervention for presenting problem one. Narrative therapy is
"based on the proportion that the way people experience themselves and their situations is
constructed through culturally mediated social interactions" (Ikonomopoulus, Smith and Schmidt,
2015, p. 461). Narrative therapy was chosen due to the fact that the inner voice combined with their
peers tends to be dominant voices guiding decision making in most individuals, particularly
adolescents. Meaning, an adolescent is most likely to commit to a change if they have decided upon
it themselves and are receiving a positive response from their peers. "Narrative therapy was

Tonsillitis Case
1. The issue with Tonsillitis and the removal of my tonsils have been a very frustrating and
elongating issue for me until I really stepped away and looked at it from a different viewpoint.
Being that I am always wanting to be in control and also hate not being able to have the ability to do
things without interruption, this problem raised many conflicts with these things. I found myself
being mad, upset, and even depressed about it because I could not control what was happening. I
had to rely on doctors and medication, and I did not know how to truly process that. Also the
recovery process and having to go in for another procedure to remove the skin tissue from the
original surgery also motivated a lot of negative responses. But, during my ... Show more content on

Looking at the situation, the obvious answer is to flunk the student, or not feed the beggar who has
nothing to give. But, if you look at the situation from another angle, you can look at it as an
opportunity for the instructor to truly do something and give the student something of true value.
Also this can be looked upon as an opportunity for the instructor display a true Zen moment. To do
something for someone who can do nothing for you, and has nothing to offer. The instructor could
truly enlighten the student and give them the opportunity to truly see the error in their ways and
provide them the chance to truly grow. Failing the student, or not feeding the beggar does not satisfy
or answer any real need or satisfaction to the universe or person who is in the position to change the
situation. Failing the student does not truly teach the student about Zen because Zen has no timeline
or schedule. Failing them because they have not grasped the true teaching of Zen in a designated
timeline is not Zen like because everybody experience with Zen is different. So the opportunity of
the instructor to pass the student but, speak to them about their future journey with Zen and how to
become better in Zen would be good for both parties. Passing the student is a Zen opportunity for

My Problems In My Life
They say, " Life's a journey with problems to solve, lessons to learn, but most of all, experiences to
enjoy." We go through a lot of things in this journey, sometimes having cheerful moments, however,
sometimes with very melancholy times, It is all about learning new stuffs and applying it to our
daily basis. Being a 14 year old girl, I've had quite a bit of problems in my journey; one of the most
heartbreaking and distressed moment in my life was when i had to go through anxiety. Generally
speaking, being a kindergartner and not knowing what anxiety is totally normal. In fact, I was the
exact same; I barely knew what anxiety was when I was a kid. To being with, kindergarten was a
long road for me. I barely even had any friends; most of the girls used to leave me unaccompanied. I
remember the day when I was new and was desperate to make new friends. Happily and smiling, I
went to this group of girls. They looked nice but who knew how they were from the inside.
Personally, I was a tomboy, a girl with short hair, who used to wear pants and shirts with marvel
character logos. But the girls were way different, they were girly girls with long beautiful hair who
wore pretty dresses and clothes. That must have been the main difference between them and me. I
tried to introduce myself, and said Hi!, but all I got was a disgusted look in the faces that were
staring at me from head to toe with whispers that were supposed to be silent but I still could hear
them. The happy

'The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants'
The Right Attitude
There is a quote from the book The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares that the
character Coach Brevin says "The problem is not the problem, the problem is your attitude about the
problem, got that?" (Brashares 11). This quote, I found , has always helped me when I am facing
any complicated problems in both my college life and my personal life. An example of the meaning
of this quote is found in Grant Berry's A Change of Attitude (Berry 63–73). The problem, as implied
by Grant Berry, is that many of us have the attitude that we are required to make drastic sacrifices
that we don't want to make in order to achieve our goals. I don't believe that Grant Berry's
conclusion be true, although his story is an excellent example of perseverance. In contrast with the
right attitude we can stay motivated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A way that I find a balance between my college life and my personal life is to have a day planner , a
schedule, or a to–do list, that way I know what has to be done first and what can wait to be done.
When planning my life I know when I have the free time to do what I want. For instance, in Grant
Berry's A Change of Attitude, Grant did not find a good balance between his school work and his
personal life. He was consumed by his school work, there was no extra time to spend with his
family. Grant believed that the sacrifice was necessary to succeed in college, even though he didn't
like making those sacrifices. I don't believe that to be true, some of the sacrifices that Grant made
could have been avoided. Having a good day planner or a to do list could have helped Grant find the
extra time to spend with his family. For that reason, having the right attitude and knowing what is
important to us and balancing that in our life can be hard, but if done the right way we can achieve

Observation Of A Simulus Observation
Stimulus Observation Step 1
Recently, I observed a conversation on vaping which supposedly causes mold and burns in the
lungs. This caused us to pause and think, why do people try things which we all know are bad? The
conversation began as we brought up something about vaping and if it had negative effects. I
remembered that I had once heard that mold can grow on vape user's lungs when the vapor and
chemicals reach the membrane. Upon hearing this news others needed reassurance, so we looked for
information on the subject. As we brought up this fact, another participant asked ¨Why do people
vape or smoke when they know it is bad for them?¨ This question brings to mind our ability as
Americans for self–control and the human will.
Step 2
We often think that surviving is our number one top priority or instinct, but we can also observe
many willingly killing themselves, albeit, slowly. In another sense each time one takes a drag of
smoke or vapor and harms themselves we would expect them to realize this is not helpful but
actually harmful to their survival, and throw down the habit. Instead we see them urged to use more
and more until we call it an unhealthy addiction. Although it is frowned upon in American culture to
smoke or use tobacco of any kind, vaping, which can as has also been seen to be harmful, is seen as
perfectly socially acceptable. Even though we know both smoking and vaping are harmful, one is
new, exciting, and claims to be less harmful. Americans often see these transitions and think very
little of them, but they both have similar ill effects we just choose to ignore one and not the other.
Our culture decides what is bad, fine, or even good not based on fact or research, but our
understanding and feelings of the questioned problem. Americans do not care if something causes a
problem unless it is immediate and noticeable. Americans are stubborn in some ways but very open
in another, we are often very wishy–washy. The modern culture can't seem to look down the line and
see consequences of our present actions. The American population, resonating with this thought
process, only want fast action and immediate results. When this does not occur we find any possible
way of forcing it to happen

My Problems In My Life
Growing up, I had no father to raise me, I was raised by a single mom and that had a major impact
on my life. I didn't want to keep on living because everything seemed pointless and I constantly felt
unwanted, useless, and worthless. Even though I wanted to, I couldn't tell my mother these
problems, seeing how she was already struggling trying to face many problems of her own.
To start with, my mother grew up without the help of anyone; her father was an alcoholic and her
mother passed away when she was just 3 years old, not to mention, my dad ultimately left her when
he found out that she was pregnant with me. While growing up, I had learned to value the little
things in life merely because my mother – who was just a teenager when she had me – was
compelled to work extremely hard in order to sustain and support me. During my childhood, I would
always wish that I had never been born. I felt as if I was just another huge obstacle for my poor
mother, who was barely an adult herself. Due to the circumstances, I couldn't have everything that
other kids would have. Me, being the terrible kid I am, would constantly argue with my mom
whenever she wasn't able to afford something. I would intentionally ask her questions that I knew
would hurt her just to win the argument. In my defense, I was fighting for myself, trying to get her
to see my problems. At the time, I didn't realize how much effort she put in for me, for both of us. I
was childish and greedy, and I was too focused on

Socially Constructed In Film
For our topics chosen for the Humanities project, we decided to do a film containing similarities and
differences between two different people and how they may look the same as the other, but
individually experiences problems throughout their everyday lives. Our goal of the film is to make
society think more about the term humanities itself and see what problems have been socially
constructed in society in general. We want to teach society, not to judge a book by its cover and
assume things based on what they are physically seeing at that moment. We want to show that
everywhere we go, everyone we see, are suffering from a problem that we know nothing about
unless given a reason to see it. We focus more on African Americans because it was easier ... Show

We connect these terms as people assume an individual is okay because they are happy and smiling,
yet mentally, they could be facing their own problems that we are unaware about unless shown. It is
important that we think about the world we live in because we need to be aware of the problems that
is currently happening and starting to negatively affect our society. Tools of the humanities makes
sense of and responds to what is going on inside and around us by knowing the factors of what does
and does not cause problems in our society by these oppressions created. By these interlocking
systems of oppression shown in the video (Representation, Sex/Gender) studying all types of human
behaviour in general will help us receive more of a better understanding of the problems that are
currently occurring in our world today, and make human kind more aware of every little aspect of
someone else's lives, and their own life in general. If society has already socially constructed
negative roles for an individual and their lives, then that means it is possible for them to take out the

Definitions:
My Definition: A social problem is an aspect of society that people are concerned about and would
like changed. Social problems are divided into objective and subjective elements. An objective
element is the existence of a social condition and a subjective element is the belief that a particular
social condition is harmful to society as a whole or harmful to a segment of society and that it
should and can be changed. Book Definition: Social Problems are defined by a combination of
objective and subjective criteria that vary across societies , among individuals and groups within a
society and across historical time periods. Social Problems are composed of 2 elements:

My Definition: Sociological imagination is defined as the ability to see the connections between our
personal lives and the social world in which we live. Book definition:The Social Imagination, a term
C. Wright Mills developed, refers to the ability to see the connections between our personal lives
and the social world in which we live.
Book Definition: Two dominant theories of social problems grew out of the structural functionalist
perspective: social pathology and social disorganization (pg 9 Understanding Social Problems).
Social pathology is a social problem like a sickness in a society Examples: Unemployment, which
causes a breakdown in the economy. Poverty, due to disruption of the family farm and lack of family
values.
Social disorganization is characterized by rapid social change that disrupts the norms in
society.Examples: when you are rich and famous the traditional norms of society become blurred
and no longer apply to you. You can say you're in a state of anomie – a state of normlessness or

The Life Cycle of a Social Problem
The Life Cycle of a Social Problem A social problem is a condition that a group of people view as
being undesirable. These can be a variety of different "problems."They can occur in your
community, school, church or any place that people interact with each other or an object. When a
social problem arises there is a general way that they are handled. The earliest of definition on how a
social problem is recognized was made by Richard Fuller and Richard Myers. There cycle had three
stages. The first stage was that the group had to some situation or behavior as a problem. Once they
stated that there was a problem the next step was to transforms the situation or beahvior into a public
debate to discuss that certain problem and how it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These roles of power also have concentrated link to the critical approach. When a problem is merely
a micro problem it is normally blamed on the attributes of people rather than the integrity of the
system. With any social problem in general there are two moral entrepreneurs. They are the rule
creators ,which is the group that is trying to fix a behavior or situation that doesn't agree with there
ideals or belifs, and the rule enforcers which are the police and other public officals that will have to
oversee that the law or resolution is upheld by the public. The simple one of these two are the rule
enforcers. There main part is just to uphold these rules so therefore they look at it is a job and not a
way of life persay like a rule creator would. They also come into the life cycle after the solution or
resoultion has been determined .During their time of upholding the new law they will make many
enemies and friends but the only thing that really matters is that the new law or rule will be upheld
so there will not be another social problem of this nature. The second of the moral entrepreneurs and
the most complex one is the rule creators. They are the ones that start fighting for the social problem
and have to continue even if they are successful in getting a new rule or law established. The first
step in a rule creator is the stage of becoming a

of a character to be able to give the readers the same sense of connection that Peter gives. It wouldn't

Life Changing Actions In Stephen King's 'The First Argument'
Have you ever began to notice subtle changes that turn into life changing actions in someone close
to you? They go from a friend whom you tell all of your problems, and a respectable son with a
blooming future, to a distant friend who you used to know, and a son who is flushing the life who he
used to know down the toilet. This is the life of Dennis Guilder, Regina Cunningham, and her
husband. Set in 1970's America, Christine, is written from the perspective of Dennis Guilder who
know the most about Arnie. Being his best friend, Dennis has had the opportunity to witness the life
of Arnie Cunningham. In addition, he has studied the character of Arnie parents, Regina and
Michael Cunningham who are college professors at Horlicks University. In Stephen King's novel,
Christine, conflict arises between Arnie Cunningham, and Dennis Guilder and Regina Cunningham
and Michael Cunningham. All of them, with the exception of Arnie, try to resolve their problems
with Arnie. In the novel, Regina Cunningham uses her aristocratic personality to exterminate the
problem between Arnie and herself. In the second chapter of Christine, "The First Argument" takes
place between the family,
Arnie looked at them, his eyes odd and white and dangerous. "I'm telling you, I'm going to have this.

"Arnie, the insurance..." Michael began.

My Math Problems In My Life
"Papa! Papa! I really can't do this; this math problem is impossible to solve!" I ran crying to him,
startled by the complexity of a "4+6" math problem. Since I was a conceited, omniscient second
grader that knew everything from coloring inside the thick bold lines of a circle to counting to fifty–
three when the whole class was at fifty–one, getting my knowledge challenged wasn't my happiest
experience. My dad, who I perceived as a human calculator, a human library, and a human
typewriter at the time, acknowledged this atypical behavior saying, "Son, we flew to the moon and
back, keep strangling those '4+6' problems in your life and you will fly there one day. Now! Go try
solving it, then go to sleep; you've got school tomorrow." Since then, my journey to self–inquiry and
to make the impossible possible started. Excited about facing the "impossible," I made myself a list
of all the things that my parents, family, friends, and teachers thought will make me great. After
almost a decade from the time I wrote that list, I started going through my list: soccer, check; tennis,
check; theatre, check; basketball, check; business, check; medical, check. Ironically, everything I
started doing seemed to be impossible; I kept hitting dead ends with everything I tried on that "holy"

weeks, and I didn't even want anything to do with medical and business. However, every time I just

to guide the client through by allowing her to make her own decisions. Limiting my questions to the
client was also a challenge for me because I cannot rush through to get to know the bottom line of
the problem. I had to be patient and go step by step to find out the root cause of the problem.
Additionally, I have to think through twice or even thrice before asking the client questions. I had to
be careful with the questions I ask as some direct questions may affect the client. For instance, if I
ask too many 'why' questions, the client would be defensive and feel pressurized to provide an
explanation when they do not even know the answer to it. Therefore, I had to ask questions carefully
and effectively. During the short counselling session, I also tried to not be too confrontational and
direct when allowing the client to self–challenge themselves hence I asked questions like "do you

Rathus Assaimsertiveness: A Case Study
Overall, Mr. Smith scored and assertive score of negative four. Though that is considered within the
normal range for the Rathus Assaimsertiveness Scale discussed in the text book used for class, there
are still some concerns regarding the state of the client. Through Mr. Smith's survey there seems to
be an overwhelming theme of him feeling less assertive than everyone else. Furthermore, this should
be a concern in regards to his attempts in seeing his child. This could also have influence on his
potential substance abuse problem. The inability to say no can directly influence factors related to
these areas. Moreover, if you take into the client's issues involving anxiety and depression, there are

My Problems In My Life
Hard times My family is crazy. They know it, I know it, and everyone knows it. The craziest person
in my family had to be my Aunt Charlotte. She had good intentions, but never could fulfill them. My
aunt's death caused a lot of problems in my life. Well, this is how she in a way screwed my family
over, made us crazier, and in a way made us all stronger. My aunt and I were close. We enjoyed
shopping at whole foods together and drinking green drinks. We liked to consider ourselves 'health
food moms' even though we both continued to binge on sweets. My aunt had 4 children, 2 in
college, 1 in high school, and 1 of preschool age. Out of the four, only one lived with her, Aubrey
(the one preschool age). Aubrey and I considered ourselves sisters due to how close we were. I will
start my little tale off with the first problematic thing my aunt did during this time. On about July
16th, 2016 my aunt and I went out for smoothies. On this smoothie run, she confided in a 13–year–

number 1 because I was and still am an awkward child and I had no idea how to console her. Since I
did not know what to do I decided to dance to the static music that was playing in her old, beat up,

regardless of what we thought and what we assumed. My friend and I met in a unique way. At that

This is how I met the guy that would later turn into my best–friend in my high school years. His
name was Albert, he was a year younger than I was, but he talked like if he were five years older

everything, it was like if in his short life span he had gone through mayor life lessons that he felt

well as my suspicions to everything he would tell me; I soon learned that he would probably make a
great writer, due to his immense imagination. I would just listen to him and ask questions to which
he would always have answers to. "Should I ask Bianca on a date, or just continue with the

I've had and still have many problems in my life that are all around me and with me. As much as
going to college to improve my life it came with the increasing amount of problem. Problems that
affected my outside life but mostly created problems with my educational life. As I deal with these

decisiveness knowing right from wrong. Should I do it or not? Am I ok with the final product? Am I
right? These are some questions that I ask myself almost every day in life. There are two types of
decisions there are good decisions and bad, and guess what type I would pick? Neither because I
could never decide what decision is truly good or bad. Decisiveness is natural it comes with the gut
feeling but I was always the one to question my know gut feeling. My decision–making as always
affected me outside school social life and work done more bad than good. I miss a lot of
opportunities from decisions I took and didn't take. My problem with decision–making has always
affected me in school I wasn't a straight–A student I was never the one to hand in an assignment
early. One time in English class we had to pick a book to do seven–page report on and I picked a
book I thought would be good. So I started writing the paper when I realized there's no way I could
write seven pages. I had the

But what is being done to change this? Every day people fall victim to things such as racism, assimilation, political and economic power, and tokenism. Yet, there are ways to help people who are experiencing problems such as these. The only thing that needs to be done is to have enough people stand up for these problems. Whether the solutions to these problems are macro, or micro, there needs to be some sort of effort to help the people who experience these sorts of oppressions. One major issue that the other Wes Moore's mother experiences is not being able to get an education due to a lack of funding. • 13. Persuasive Essay : Why Homework Helps Many Health And Life... What are your thoughts about homework? Do you think that it actually helps you or do you think that it is non–beneficial for you? Imagine a world without homework. Numerous people may argue that homework is great as it really helps one understand the material and obtain improved grades. On the other hand, some disagree and say that homework is bad for oneself and creates many health and life problems. Homework should not exist as it does create too many problems with one's health and life, and would be better if the youth in school did not need to do homework. The majority of students absolutely loath homework and life would be so much better without it. Stress and high blood pressure, less time for interests, doing work on top of going to school, and not making a difference with understanding the material and getting good grades are all reasons why homework is an issue. To begin, homework creates way too much stress for students and raises their blood pressure, which is definitely poor for one's health, especially at such a young age. This stress is due to having loads of pressure to complete it all and being overworked. In my case, having several hours of homework almost every night and worrying about finishing everything puts a lot of stress on me and makes me feel sick. If it starts at a young age, it will only continue to build up as the kids get older, which could cause serious problems. Researchers from Stanford did a study on homework that show that "56 percent of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A technique used to view the problem in different ways by using each person's view. Meaning after everyone has shared, the therapist will help reframe the situation in a wider manner. Involves removing the blame from the target client, and letting each person describe the problem, this will help them identify that all the comments have led to the problem. Example: A 14–year–old boy expresses to his therapist that he and his mom continue to argue about him meeting his friends after soccer practice which ends at 6:30pm. He would like his mom to accept and let him go by himself. The therapist expresses to the teen "You can tell how much your mom loves you and takes care of you." Therapist also explains the dangers of walking by himself in the night. Meaning the teen will probably now understand his moms concern and maybe ask her to take him to meet his friends so he is not alone on the streets. When we hear the word relationship, we think of a man and a woman. Being in a relationship is more than just being intimate. There are different kinds of relationship such as husbands and wives, parent and child, or just friend to friend. Some people say it takes two people to make a relationship fail. When two people meet, they usually know from the begining if they want to be with that person or if they want to pursue a relationship. When a relationship fails, it is because one or both parties involved gives up. Giving up on a relationship is always hard because it means someone's feelings are going to be ... Another reason why relationships fail are because of children, some people having children will help in reality it only makes worse. On the other hand, if a person may bring their child or children into the relationship, and the child and the other partner does not get along that usually cause a big problem. Communication is the number one key to a good relationship. When there is no communication between both parties involved in the relationship, that is when the relationship fails whether it is a man and a woman, or a child trying to divorce his/her parents or friends cutting their ties forever. When couples realize their relationship is starting to fail, they will try different things such as marriage counseling. That is when the couple will sit down with a therapist and they will try to work their problems out. Sometimes therapy can help the couples work their issues out and get to the root of their problems. Another solution is a vacation or a second honeymoon where they can reconcile or rekindle the relationship that they use to have. Or even as far as moving away to get a new start on life, to try to get away from the old way of how things use to be and try to start a new life together again. In a relationship, we have to know what we can, and cannot live without. Being in a relationship means nothing, no one is perfect and in a relationship, there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During this debate there are a couple of various causal interpretations. One of these is a systematic attribution which the critical approach leans towards. In way of thinking the system itself is problematic and generates difficulties for the individual. This means that the issue is a problem and the person or group of people that brought forth this issue will have to show why it is a problem in the social world. This can difficult situation which is a norm when trying to change something. The next way of interpreting a situation is called personal attribution. This is primarily used by dominated groups and also public officials. They use this because it is much easier to blame the person or group that has brought this issue into public light then to try to fixing it. Once all sides has said there peace the last part of this step is complex bargaining between both sides.      The last stage of the life cycle of a social problem is that of a resolution. Power is the number one way on how the solution is going to come about and what solutions are going to be even considered to be a way to solve the issue at hand. • 29. The Effects of Sociocultural Factors on Individuals Essay Swami Nirmalananda, a disciple of the Indian mystic Ramakrishna, once said "Our modern society is engaged in polishing and decorating the cage in which man is kept imprisoned." Society is seen as a cage by many because the cultural beliefs that make up the society are what guide the actions and behaviors of those people within. Sometimes the culture in societies result in helping people develop successfully and positively, but this is not always the case. For instance, societies that were challenged by racism during the mid–twentieth century were marked by rage and were the causes of some troublesome lives. In two short stories set during the mid–twentieth century, "Sonny's Blues," by James Baldwin and "The Man Who Was Almost a Man," by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While Sonny's father was alive, Sonny would often fight with him, and after fighting "Sonny just moves back, inside himself, where he can't be reached" (42). Also, after Sonny's mother passed away, it was only Sonny and his brother; however, the two were separated for a long period of time. Having support or being cared for by family members is invaluable, but Sonny did not have this and it ultimately resulted in one of the reasons for his troubled life. In Richard Wright's short story "The Man Who Was Almost a Man" the main character, Dave Saunders, also faces a problem which can be similarly traced to sociocultural factors. While shooting his gun for the first time Dave accidentally shoots his boss', Mr. Hawkins, mule, and the mule dies. The only reason Dave purchased a gun in the first place was to prove to the others in society, specifically those who worked alongside him at Mr. Hawkins' plantation, that he was not a boy anymore, but rather a man. While working on Mr. Hawkins' plantation Dave is often humiliated by the older workers because they think "[he] ain't nothing but a boy (878). Also, the narrator states near the end of the story that a group of people that has gathered around the dead mule on the plantation laughs at Dave as he is walking away with tear–filled eyes (886). Once again this emphasizes that he receives no respect from the others. Mr. Hawkins' plantation is similar to the social environment in Harlem described in "Sonny's Blues". Both ... Not only did I get to choose the classes I took, but I can also start to get an idea of what it is I want to do with my life. I'm taking all honors classes, but that's more because mom wanted me to. However, if it were up to me, I still probably would've taken classes that challenge me because I would most likely get bored in other classes. Mom's still dead set on me getting into the National Honor Society and going to K–State. Despite mom's persistence, dad doesn't particularly care about school as long as I'm participating in a sport and not failing my classes. The problems of my personal life seem insignificant to the problems going on in the world. Donald Trump was elected president on my fourteenth birthday. He's not even through his first year and there have been riots, the minor threat of nuclear war, and more investigations into his presidency than I ever thought possible. Basically, the world is just beginning to realize that the way we've been living isn't how we can continue to live, and people are not happy. A few of those unhappy people have been friends of mine. Because of this, we're no longer friends. It wasn't a minor difference in political opinion that caused our separation, it was a disagreement about serious topics that have affected my family and I personally. We get taught things that do not apply to the real world. We do not get taught how to save money for our futures and we also do not get informed on how there are not many jobs open for our generation in the future which is a problem. As you can see, if we do not learn about this topic at an early age, and it can act as a potential liability to our future endeavours which results in an overall negative impact on our lives. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once you learn something at an earlier point in life, it is most likely to stay with you throughout your whole life. When a baby is born and it hears its family speaking in a certain language, it then starts to store those words in its brain and also starts to speak that language, that language is most likely to stay with that kid unless that kid starts to speak 2 languages. And just like that, when you are taught about financial literacy at a younger age, that information that is given to you is most likely going to be stored in your brain for most of your life. Not being taught about financial literacy can lead to having a heart attack, weight gain/loss problems, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, substance abuse, etc. I know a few people that are confused and stressed about their future jobs, their current jobs, managing bills, etc, and I always ask them what they would want to do to fix and and their response is "I wish I was taught about what financial problems could lead to." , and so that is another great reason to why financial literacy classes should be a subject. The pros in learning about financial literacy at a younger age can lead to living a better quality of life, lesser health problems (I have listed them above), and minor financial problems. Academic study of problem solving and thinking related to everyday life Every day individuals are faced with many different problems for example deciding what to wear, finding a suitable place to park your car or even completing an assignment. Whatever the problem is, 'problem solving is defined as any goal–directed sequence of cognitive operations', as suggested by Anderson (1980, p.257). There has been a vast amount of research on human problem solving which has provided a better understanding of the processes involved in problem solving. An example of this would be a person is getting late for work and parks their car near the office however receives a parking ticket although the outcome was negative they would use this experience to either leave home early to find a suitable space or to check next time if they are able to park in the space. Another example would be driving, a person driving will have drove a number of times however each time they drive they will encounter many different situations such as pedestrians walking out in the middle of the road, other vehicles speeding or the change of weather. • 45. Reflection Of Retreat Howdy friends, I just came back from a fantastic retreat with my young adult friends from Times Square Church. To say this retreat was great will be an understatement! It's amazing how God can alter one's plan for His purpose. My intention was just to go there and take a break from a hectic week from school and troubles of NYC. Didn't know that God had other plans for me. While on the bus to the venue of the retreat, I had a quiet moment with the Lord. My desire later changed from actually wanting to just have fun, to wanting a divine connection with the Lord. This retreat wouldn't be the first I would be attending, but I wanted this to be different from the other ones. The theme of our retreat was IDENTITY, and it was what drew me to want to attend. Knowing who you are in Christ as I learned at the retreat, is important because so often, we let the world define us, instead of what God defines us. I AM A GIANT KILLER AND NOT A GRASSHOPPER! It is my prayer for this generation that we come to know who we are in Christ, especially now that we are living in the last days. During the preacher's sermon, he said something that had me thinking. He said, "until we define our relationship with God, we will always have problems with our friendships and relationships with others." I won't dwell on this, but you should think about that statement. Still not content, I asked God to give me a word when I went to bed that night. There are many mysteries out in the world and many people do not know the outcome of ones journey, but exploring and experiencing new things is something that one should not be afraid of. Amelia Earhart was an out going person. She was the type of person who was always curious and enjoyed the rush of an adventure. When she was younger she was a tomboy who did not really care about all of the girly stuff. This expressed her personality because she liked doing things that most people found impossible. Amelia was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in an airplane. Many people would probably be scared to do that because of the unknown as Kimberly mention in her quote. Earhart did everything with a passion as she shared her experiences and knowledge with others so that they can also enjoy it. Narrative therapy is "based on the proportion that the way people experience themselves and their situations is constructed through culturally mediated social interactions" (Ikonomopoulus, Smith and Schmidt, 2015, p. 461). Narrative therapy was chosen due to the fact that the inner voice combined with their peers tends to be dominant voices guiding decision making in most individuals, particularly adolescents. We go through a lot of things in this journey, sometimes having cheerful moments, however, sometimes with very melancholy times, It is all about learning new stuffs and applying it to our daily basis. Being a 14 year old girl, I've had quite a bit of problems in my journey; one of the most heartbreaking and distressed moment in my life was when i had to go through anxiety. Generally speaking, being a kindergartner and not knowing what anxiety is totally normal. In fact, I was the exact same; I barely knew what anxiety was when I was a kid. Personally, I was a tomboy, a girl with short hair, who used to wear pants and shirts with marvel character logos. But the girls were way different, they were girly girls with long beautiful hair who wore pretty dresses and clothes. That must have been the main difference between them and me. • 89. Observation Of A Simulus Observation Stimulus Observation Step 1 Recently, I observed a conversation on vaping which supposedly causes mold and burns in the lungs. This caused us to pause and think, why do people try things which we all know are bad? The conversation began as we brought up something about vaping and if it had negative effects. I remembered that I had once heard that mold can grow on vape user's lungs when the vapor and chemicals reach the membrane. Upon hearing this news others needed reassurance, so we looked for information on the subject. As we brought up this fact, another participant asked ¨Why do people vape or smoke when they know it is bad for them?¨ This question brings to mind our ability as Americans for self–control and the human will. Step 2 We often think that surviving is our number one top priority or instinct, but we can also observe many willingly killing themselves, albeit, slowly. In another sense each time one takes a drag of smoke or vapor and harms themselves we would expect them to realize this is not helpful but actually harmful to their survival, and throw down the habit. Instead we see them urged to use more and more until we call it an unhealthy addiction. Although it is frowned upon in American culture to smoke or use tobacco of any kind, vaping, which can as has also been seen to be harmful, is seen as perfectly socially acceptable. Even though we know both smoking and vaping are harmful, one is new, exciting, and claims to be less harmful. Americans often see these transitions and think very little of them, but they both have similar ill effects we just choose to ignore one and not the other. Our culture decides what is bad, fine, or even good not based on fact or research, but our understanding and feelings of the questioned problem. Americans do not care if something causes a problem unless it is immediate and noticeable. Americans are stubborn in some ways but very open in another, we are often very wishy–washy. The modern culture can't seem to look down the line and see consequences of our present actions. The American population, resonating with this thought process, only want fast action and immediate results. When this does not occur we find any possible way of forcing it to happen ... These can be a variety of different "problems."They can occur in your community, school, church or any place that people interact with each other or an object. When a social problem arises there is a general way that they are handled. The earliest of definition on how a social problem is recognized was made by Richard Fuller and Richard Myers. When a problem is merely a micro problem it is normally blamed on the attributes of people rather than the integrity of the system. With any social problem in general there are two moral entrepreneurs. They are the rule creators ,which is the group that is trying to fix a behavior or situation that doesn't agree with there ideals or belifs, and the rule enforcers which are the police and other public officals that will have to oversee that the law or resolution is upheld by the public. The simple one of these two are the rule enforcers. I Still Love You Between love triangles, viral videos, and Peter Kavinsky; Laura Jean really had a lot of growing up to do during the 2nd book in the To All the Boys I have Loved Before duology by Jenny Han. In this book, P.S I Still Love You, Laura Jean and Peter finally date after a long time of being a fake couple to make their exes Genevieve and Josh jealous. Although, some people have a lot to say about how they feel about this novel. I have to disagree with most of the thoughts of reviewer, Book Bruin's (amazon) opinion of how the novel was too slow paced and the characters were very immature. Book Bruin's review has a more positive look on the Young Adult Romance genre of books. Although they specifically states that this book didn't live up to the ... During this meetup, Peter and Lara Jean get back together. That is the end of the book. I feel like there really was no lead up to this part of the book, it was very sudden. Compared to the rest of the book, which was gave me a good sense of why, I didn't understand this part. Now the statement goes on to saying that Book Bruin was not happy with the outcome, Lara Jean and Peter getting back together. Instead, they wanted her to choose Mclaren. However, I think that the readers don't even know enough about him, only that he received one of the love–letters Lara Jean wrote years ago by accident. Honestly he isn't memorable enough of a character to be able to give the readers the same sense of connection that Peter gives. It wouldn't have made any sense if she chose Mclaren in the end. Overall, there were some aspects of Book Bruin's review that I agreed with. However, some of the statements and opinions made were more a matter of taste and personal preference. P.S I Still Love You by Jenny Han is a story full of real–life problems about being a teenager. It includes important problems and a strong theme of trust throughout the book. Since I was a conceited, omniscient second grader that knew everything from coloring inside the thick bold lines of a circle to counting to fifty– three when the whole class was at fifty–one, getting my knowledge challenged wasn't my happiest experience. My dad, who I perceived as a human calculator, a human library, and a human typewriter at the time, acknowledged this atypical behavior saying, "Son, we flew to the moon and back, keep strangling those '4+6' problems in your life and you will fly there one day. Now! Go try solving it, then go to sleep; you've got school tomorrow." Since then, my journey to self–inquiry and to make the impossible possible started. Excited about facing the "impossible," I made myself a list of all the things that my parents, family, friends, and teachers thought will make me great. After almost a decade from the time I wrote that list, I started going through my list: soccer, check; tennis, check; theatre, check; basketball, check; business, check; medical, check. Ironically, everything I started doing seemed to be impossible; I kept hitting dead ends with everything I tried on that "holy" list. I quit soccer after 2 years, basketball after 1 year, theatre after 2 months, and tennis after just 2 weeks, and I didn't even want anything to do with medical and business. Limiting my questions to the client was also a challenge for me because I cannot rush through to get to know the bottom line of the problem. I had to be patient and go step by step to find out the root cause of the problem. Additionally, I have to think through twice or even thrice before asking the client questions. I had to be careful with the questions I ask as some direct questions may affect the client. For instance, if I ask too many 'why' questions, the client would be defensive and feel pressurized to provide an explanation when they do not even know the answer to it. Therefore, I had to ask questions carefully and effectively. During the short counselling session, I also tried to not be too confrontational and direct when allowing the client to self–challenge themselves hence I asked questions like "do you ever see yourself being a person that has more confident and outspoken?". She had good intentions, but never could fulfill them. My aunt's death caused a lot of problems in my life. Well, this is how she in a way screwed my family over, made us crazier, and in a way made us all stronger. My aunt and I were close. We enjoyed shopping at whole foods together and drinking green drinks. We liked to consider ourselves 'health food moms' even though we both continued to binge on sweets. My aunt had 4 children, 2 in college, 1 in high school, and 1 of preschool age. Out of the four, only one lived with her, Aubrey (the one preschool age). Aubrey and I considered ourselves sisters due to how close we were. I will start my little tale off with the first problematic thing my aunt did during this time. On about July 16th, 2016 my aunt and I went out for smoothies. On this smoothie run, she confided in a 13–year– old for some serious help. My Aunt decided to tell me, about her suicidal ideations. This is problem number 1 because I was and still am an awkward child and I had no idea how to console her. Since I did not know what to do I decided to dance to the static music that was playing in her old, beat up, used car. When she looked over and stared at me I remember taking note of her eyes. This is how I met the guy that would later turn into my best–friend in my high school years. His name was Albert, he was a year younger than I was, but he talked like if he were five years older than I was; he sounded convincing, and I had no reason to doubt him. I began to build an association of him with a guy that had been schooled by life, he would always have something to say about everything, it was like if in his short life span he had gone through mayor life lessons that he felt open to share with newbies like me. As time continued to pass, our relationship started growing, as well as my suspicions to everything he would tell me; I soon learned that he would probably make a great writer, due to his immense imagination. I would just listen to him and ask questions to which he would always have answers to. "Should I ask Bianca on a date, or just continue with the friendship we have?"
