3. ALTERNATIVE JOBS
EUROPEAN GRADUATE PROGRAMME
The European Graduate Programme is Sony's two year programme which combines business experience, training modules, mentoring and
social entrepreneurship. Our European Graduate Programme (EGP) is recruiting young business professionals who want to join our
continuous drive for innovation and be inspired by what they do. The European Graduate Programme is Sony's two year programme
which combines on-the-job and off-the-job development for graduates of various backgrounds. From day one you will be
collaborating on projects and contributing to current business strategy within experienced teams. We will give you the opportunity
to progress and succeed, and in return we want you to make the most of it. That means taking personal responsibility for making a
real and visible contribution to the company as well as to your own career.
BUSINESS EXPERIENCE:
Our graduates receive on-the-job development through their two assignments where they have the opportunity to discover different
businesses and functions. As assignments are selected according to the organisation’s business needs, graduates are expected to be
flexible since they may be placed in Sony’s Electronics, Games, Music or Pictures businesses across a multitude of European
locations. EGP assignments offer variety of functions such as Sales Strategy, Product Marketing, Communications, Business
Development, Finance... What is most exciting for graduates is that the expectations from the business are high and that they are
therefore expected to make a real contribution to the business over the course of their twelve month rotations
TRAINING MODULES:
Over the two years of the programme, our graduates attend EGP training modules covering the Value Chain components of a global digital
entertainment brand. These training modules take place in Sony sites across Europe and the content is delivered by Top
Management providing a unique networking opportunity. Prior to the modules graduates work in virtual teams on case studies and
present their results to Top Management.
MENTORING PROGRAMMES:
As part of their EGP development each eurograd is matched to an individual mentor from the middle management Leadership
Development Programme. Mentors can provide informal advice, guidance and support in a graduate's career development as well as
life with the company during and after the programme.
SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP:
An important part of the graduates learning is adaptability to a new context (not-for-profit / less structured / fast changing) and the
application of graduate business training outside of the traditional comfort zone. Working effectively in virtual teams on
international projects with a social objective creates a platform that encourages creativity, motivation and innovation.
