Global Online Essentials
• The Global Online Support Team - provide dedicated non-academic support, e.g.
monitor students progress on modules and contact those inactive for a period of
time. Direct academic queries to module leader/tutor.
• Module Leader/Online tutor provide the academic leadership / support.
• University Policy – staff and students must only use Edinburgh Napier email (not
personal email) when communicating.
• globalonlinesupport@napier.ac.uk – to be used for all communications.
Roles and Responsibilities
Standard framework:
Eleven Units:
• First - Module Overview (including a short video welcome from Module Leader)
• Ten subject specific units
– Learning outcomes for the unit
– Introduction (including short unit video)
– Prescribed readings (i.e. essential readings for the unit)
– Self-assessment questions and reflective exercises
– End of Unit summary
– End of Unit progress test
– Further reading –useful to explore the topic covered in the unit in more depth. Must be
available electronically to students wherever they are located.
