First presentation at the OCTO Tech Share in Sydney - 13/06/18 Yesterday, people used to do IT by mimicking the building industry and its metaphors and concepts: it was probably right back then when IT was a cost centre supposed to engrave silicon with well-known everlasting processes. Today, companies try to evolve to Agile, Lean, Craftsmanship for the methods, and to Feature Teams, SAFe and Holacracy for the organisation models to name a few. That's because they need to change, to respond to "digital pressure" from both customers and employees, and to pivot their IT department towards a profit center. However, whether these companies try to change from top-down or bottom-up, they all end up facing the infamous "it's hard, because it's all about culture". In this talk, we won't pretend to have found the Grail which will successfully transform your organisation culture, but we'll explain how, through Culture Hacking and the Dome Experiment, organisations can change for themselves and for real. Just that.
