WHO AM I?
I am a 20 year old lady born and bred in eMondlo north of KZN. I am a positive spirit person,
one who is full of enthusiasm and passion about life and what I do (my teaching practice). I
love food, health, music, education, life, sleep, family and people in general. The elderly and
the infants are the most people I must say am fond because of their genuine kindness, love and
positivity towards life. One of the qualities that I equal like and unlike at the same time about
myself is that am shy, however, for a space of two years since I first started my teaching
practice. I’ve learned to toughen up in a sense that I’ve become a bold and yet soft person
although I try my best not to be on a spotlight because that might expose my weaknesses and
make me feel vulnerable. It is often said that listening is important and personally I also believe
that is true because from my experience listening have helped me gain more knowledge and
wisdom, most of all it has shaped me to be a better person who critically think, analyses and

observe everything around me. Lastly, I am a hard worker who most of the time gets things
done.
WHAT KIND OF EDUCATOR I OUGHT TO BE IN THE FUTURE?
First of all, I want to be a parent to my learners more than anything. One who will guide them
throughout their schooling journey, inspire them to do good, influence positive thinking and
motivate them to become agents of change. I will try my ultimate best to push learners to think
out of the box by critically thinking, engaging and actively with the subjects’ content that we
will be dealing with. That I believe will push learners to get out of their comfort zones so that
they reach beyond their limit. Learners will be encouraged to conceptualize the content by
learning more from their experiences and their environment and this is important for
Geography learners. As History and Geography requires learners to outreach to their
surroundings, learners in a process will become agents of change in their own families and the
wider community.
WHAT MAKES YOU GET UP IN THE MORNING?
Coming from humble beginnings, I’ve been taught and I’ve learned that family comes first.
Therefore, my motivation for waking up in the morning would be to make a change in my
family and the wider community by assisting where I could. Secondly, proving my worth and
capabilities to myself would be something worth the time so that I would be proud of myself.
Lastly, I believe there is no life without God’s control and waking up in the morning is a
blessing worth cherishing.
