Question 3 Magazine Distributors
Bauer Media is a division of the Bauer Media Group, Europe’s largest privately owned publishing Group. The Group is a worldwide media empire offering over 300 magazines in 15 countries.  Bauer Media is a big fan of distributing music, they already have Mojo, Q and Kerrangon their list of magazines, all being very popular and good sellers. It would be good for my product to be involved with Bauer Media because they already have a big market share in the magazine market, this will give my product publicity. The down side to having a big distributor is that because they already have big name magazines on their hands, you don't know how much time and detail they will put into your product such as advertising and marketing, my product my get over looked because of the size of the business.
IPC Media produces over 60 iconic media brands, with print alone reaching almost two thirds of UK women and 42% of UK men – almost 26 million UK adults – while our websites collectively reach over 20 million users every month. IPC produces a lot of magazines but not many music magazines, a total of 2, NME and Uncut. This means they have a gap in their portfolio, they could distribute my product to get more sales from music fans, it would be good for my product as well because they take more consideration with advertising and trying to get it to our target market. I would choose this distributor because they will give us more control and more time to develop as a product.
