3. INTRODUCTION :
A Building is a structure with a Roof and Walls standing more or less permanently in
one place, such as a house or factory.
Buildings come in a variety of sizes, shapes and functions, and have been adopted
throughout history for wide number of factors like building materials available,
weather conditions, land prices, ground conditions, specific uses and aesthetic reasons.
Building serve several needs of society, primarily as shelter from weather, security,
living space, privacy, to store belongings, and to comfortably live and work.
Buildings are classified based on its occupancy and structure such as Residential
Building, Education building, Institutional building, Assembly building, Business
building, Industrial buildings etc.
Buildings in which sleeping arrangements are provided with or without cooking
arrangement is called as Residential building which includes single or multi family
dwelling, apartments, lodging, restaurants ,hostels, dormitories and hotels.

16. DAILY PROGRESS OF THE
PROJECT :
Isolated Column Footing :
Is one of the most used type of foundation to support single columns when they
are arranged at a long distance. An isolated footing must be designed to avoid
exceeding its bearing capacity and provide safety against over turning or sliding
while preventing the ground from settling
16
17. It consists of ribs spaced at regular interval at perpendicular directions which
are monolithic with slab.
These grid slabs are generally used for architectural purposes for large spans
such as public assembly halls, auditoriums, showrooms, were to avoid internal
columns in the structure.
17
Grid Beam Slab
18. Is a type of scaffolding characterised by a joining method that uses
metal cups to lock beams together. It is a temporary network of frames
used to support workers during construction or renovation of structure.
They are easy to stand, no nuts, bolts and wedges are required quick,
solid erection and dismantling results in time and labour saving,
lightweight, high load carrying capacity and low maintenance.
18
Cup Lock Scaffolding
19. Form Work :
19
A formwork is a temporary structure used as mould for the original
structure.
There are different materials available to construct the formwork.
Formwork material is selected depending upon many factors like cost,
requirement, type of structure etc.
Different formwork materials are used in site for construction, in our
project Conventional formwork and aluminium formwork is used.
20. Plywood as Formwork Material
Plywood which is a manufacture of timber is also used for formworks.
The plywood boards are available in thickness from 7mm to 32mm.
Plywood can also be cut into required size easily and it is strong,
durable and light in weight
Very large size plywood board are available which makes construction
quicker and easier. It provides smooth finish on the surface.
20
21. Aluminium as Formwork
Material
Aluminium formwork is used often for pre-fabricated formwork. It is getting
more popular because of its light weight and good strength.
It requires fewer support and ties.
It is easy to fix and easy to dismantle. It can be reused for many times.
The walls and slabs of structures can be casted simultaneously.
Monolithic crack free structures can be built using aluminium formwork
21
22. Quality control test of fine
aggregate by Sieve Analysis.
This process involves the use of a series of standard sieves, with
decreasing mesh sizes. The steps involved in sieve analysis of fine
aggregates:
Collecting the sample
Preparing the sieves
Weighing of the sieves
Preparing the pan
Beginning of sieving is done.
Retained material is weighed.
Now the results are calculated
22
24. Quality control test conducted for
Compressive strength of concrete
The compressive strength test is one of the most important tests
conducted on concrete. It measures the ability of concrete to withstand
compressive loads without cracking or failing, the steps to conduct the
compressive strength test of concrete:
Preparation of test specimen (usually 150mm cubes)
Curing of the test specimen
Testing of specimen by placing of the cured specimen in compression
testing machine.
Load is provided at constant rate till the failure occurs
The load of failure is recorded for further process.
After the sample failure are calculated, the report is provided.
24
26. Quality control test by Slump to
check the workability of concrete
The slump test is a widely used method for determining the consistency
and workability of fresh concrete. It measures the deformation of a
concrete sample under the influence of gravity, the steps involved in
conducting a slump test:
Prepare the mould
Fill the mould with the concrete with 3 equal layers ,and compact each
layer 25 stokes with tamping rod.
Strike off the surface
Lift the mould
Measure the slump
Determine the consistency of slump
Recording of the workability of sample of concrete is done
26
28. CONCLUSION
Construction of high rise residential building requires lots of time and
effort depending on the structure.
The construction methods for the high rise residential building depends
based on its budget.
High rise residential building requires Recreational aspect like
construction of Gym, Swimming Pool, playground etc
High Rise Residential Building needs required space for ventilation and
sunlight to provide comfort to the users.
High rise residential building requires lot of investment and land area
(sq ft)
