 Keep the work area clean.
 No crowding inside the site perimeter.
 Lifting precautions.
 Proper site training.
 Safety programs & culture.
 Risk management system.
11
 Column
 It is designed to resist axial & lateral force &
transfer them safely to the footing in the
ground.
 Columns support floors in a structure .
 Slabs & beams transfer the stresses to the
column so, it is important to design strong
columns.
12
 Footing
 The bottom part of foundation is
called footing .
 Footing in construction are critical as
the footing distributes the weight of
the building evenly across the entire
structure so that it doesn't sink into
the ground.
 The depth of footing is 1m to 1.5m &
footing will be designed considering
SBC of soil & load from column. 13
 Column starter
 Starter is generally a casting of
concrete material with equivalent
width & length of column section &
comparatively smaller height of
around 10 cm.
 It is casted in such a manner that
equal cover is left encircling the
reinforcement bars of column & then
shuttering of column is provided.
14
 BEAM
 Beam is a horizontal structural element that
withstand vertical loads, shear forces and
bending moments. The loads applied to the
beam result in reaction forces at the support
points of the beam. The total effect of all the
forces acting on the beam is to produce shear
forces and bending moment within the beam,
that is turn induced internal stresses, strains
and deflections of beam.
15
 Column reinforcement
 A reinforced concrete column is a
structural member designed to carry a
compressive loads , composed of
concrete with an embedded steel
frame top provide reinforcement .
 For design purpose the column are
separated into two categories : short
column & long column
16
 Couplers
 Mechanical couplers are the cylindrical
element that connect the two rotating edges of
reinforcement bars, also known as alternative
to lapping rebars,
 The grade of coupler should be equivalent to
the reinforcement bars which ensures the
maximum transmission of the load stresses
from one bar to another .
17
 Excavation for footing
 Footings are an important part of foundation
construction. They are typically made of concrete
with rebar reinforcement that has been poured
into an excavated trench. The purpose of footings
is to support the foundation.
 A column or pillar is a structural element that
transmits, through compression, the weight of the
structure above to other structural elements below
Columns are frequently used to support beams or
arches on which the upper parts of walls or
ceilings rest.
18
 Placing of footing using total station & placing of footing mat
 Total station is a surveying instrument
combination of electromagnetic distance
measuring instrument & electronic
theodolite.
 It is also integrated with microprocessor,
electronic data collector & storage system .
 A water foot plastic sheet is laid over the
earth. After that, pour around 7 cm layer of
plain cement concrete to create a perfectly
flat & level base for the foundation .
 Lay a reinforcement on spacers over the
foundation bed.
19
19
 Placing of footing reinforcement
 Reinforcement should be placed @ the
tension side @ the bottom of the footing.
 In square footing rebars are placed uniformly
in both direction.
 Shuttering or formwork is the process of giving
support & stability to the concrete before it
becomes solid.
 The shuttering is commonly made using wood &
steel.
20
 Placing of concrete using transit mixer & pumping device
Transit mixer
 Transit mixer is a multipurpose device that
used to transport concrete mortar from a
concrete batching plant .
 The transit mixer is loaded with a dry
material & water .
 The transit mixer consist of drum with spiral
blade which has the ability to move in two
direction.
Pumping device
 A common type concrete pump for large
scale construction projects is know as boom
concrete pump.
21
 Stair case & retaining wall
 The structure containing a stairway a flight if
stairs with the supporting framework, casing,
& blusters.
22
• A retaining wall is a structure designed and
constructed to resist the lateral pressure of soil,
when there is a desired change in ground
elevation that exceeds the angle of repel of the
soil Retaining walls are used for supporting soil
laterally so that it can be retained at different
levels on the two sides.
 Curing
 Concrete sets and hardens as a result of a
chemical reaction between cementations
materials and water. This process is called
hydration. Curing is the process of maintaining
satisfactory temperature and moisture
conditions in concrete long enough for
hydration to develop the desired concrete
properties. The potential strength and
durability of concrete will be fully developed
only if concrete is properly cured.
23

CONCLUSION
 During our internship program we have got a lot of knowledge in terms of improving our practical skill.
 The various types of orientation programs, tasks and trainings that we have been undertaking during these past
days on the site enhanced our knowledge in building construction. We are very glad to see that what we have learn
in the university can be repeated in the working world. We were able to apply our theoretical knowledge of
designing and construction works in the real-life situation.
 This program played an important role to break the conventional thought that field works can be only implemented
by students who hold degree or people who have an experience in building construction. We were able to acquire a
high level of confidence to deal with problems arises in constructional works.
 We have been able to see the different theoretical aspects, methodologies. We have been fulfilling our curiosity in
learning practically building construction well in this internship program.
 Generally, the internship program laid sound foundation for us to start our career. We will be definitely sensible to
scale this practice up and to replicate it in other disciplines as well

  • 12.  Column  It is designed to resist axial & lateral force & transfer them safely to the footing in the ground.  Columns support floors in a structure .  Slabs & beams transfer the stresses to the column so, it is important to design strong columns. 12
  • 13.  Footing  The bottom part of foundation is called footing .  Footing in construction are critical as the footing distributes the weight of the building evenly across the entire structure so that it doesn't sink into the ground.  The depth of footing is 1m to 1.5m & footing will be designed considering SBC of soil & load from column. 13
  • 14.  Column starter  Starter is generally a casting of concrete material with equivalent width & length of column section & comparatively smaller height of around 10 cm.  It is casted in such a manner that equal cover is left encircling the reinforcement bars of column & then shuttering of column is provided. 14
  • 15.  BEAM  Beam is a horizontal structural element that withstand vertical loads, shear forces and bending moments. The loads applied to the beam result in reaction forces at the support points of the beam. The total effect of all the forces acting on the beam is to produce shear forces and bending moment within the beam, that is turn induced internal stresses, strains and deflections of beam. 15
  • 16.  Column reinforcement  A reinforced concrete column is a structural member designed to carry a compressive loads , composed of concrete with an embedded steel frame top provide reinforcement .  For design purpose the column are separated into two categories : short column & long column 16
  • 17.  Couplers  Mechanical couplers are the cylindrical element that connect the two rotating edges of reinforcement bars, also known as alternative to lapping rebars,  The grade of coupler should be equivalent to the reinforcement bars which ensures the maximum transmission of the load stresses from one bar to another . 17
  • 18.  Excavation for footing  Footings are an important part of foundation construction. They are typically made of concrete with rebar reinforcement that has been poured into an excavated trench. The purpose of footings is to support the foundation.  A column or pillar is a structural element that transmits, through compression, the weight of the structure above to other structural elements below Columns are frequently used to support beams or arches on which the upper parts of walls or ceilings rest. 18
  • 19.  Placing of footing using total station & placing of footing mat  Total station is a surveying instrument combination of electromagnetic distance measuring instrument & electronic theodolite.  It is also integrated with microprocessor, electronic data collector & storage system .  A water foot plastic sheet is laid over the earth. After that, pour around 7 cm layer of plain cement concrete to create a perfectly flat & level base for the foundation .  Lay a reinforcement on spacers over the foundation bed. 19 19
  • 20.  Placing of footing reinforcement  Reinforcement should be placed @ the tension side @ the bottom of the footing.  In square footing rebars are placed uniformly in both direction.  Shuttering or formwork is the process of giving support & stability to the concrete before it becomes solid.  The shuttering is commonly made using wood & steel. 20
  • 21.  Placing of concrete using transit mixer & pumping device Transit mixer  Transit mixer is a multipurpose device that used to transport concrete mortar from a concrete batching plant .  The transit mixer is loaded with a dry material & water .  The transit mixer consist of drum with spiral blade which has the ability to move in two direction. Pumping device  A common type concrete pump for large scale construction projects is know as boom concrete pump. 21
  • 22.  Stair case & retaining wall  The structure containing a stairway a flight if stairs with the supporting framework, casing, & blusters. 22 • A retaining wall is a structure designed and constructed to resist the lateral pressure of soil, when there is a desired change in ground elevation that exceeds the angle of repel of the soil Retaining walls are used for supporting soil laterally so that it can be retained at different levels on the two sides.
  • 23.  Curing  Concrete sets and hardens as a result of a chemical reaction between cementations materials and water. This process is called hydration. Curing is the process of maintaining satisfactory temperature and moisture conditions in concrete long enough for hydration to develop the desired concrete properties. The potential strength and durability of concrete will be fully developed only if concrete is properly cured. 23
