Questionnaire analysis
1. Questionnaire analysis
In my questionnaire when I asked my target audience ‘What gender are you?’ these were the
results that I received.
It is clear that majority of the people that tookpart in answering my questionnaire were female,
therefore this shows that, the information that I gathered were fromfemales perspectives.
Another question that I asked in my questionnaire was “what is your favouritetype of music
genre?” These were the results that I received.

What is your favoritemusic genre?
RnB Indie Rock Jazz Classical
2. Overall the music genre that was picked by my target audience as their favourite music genre
was RnB. Thereforeeven though I will be creating a Jazzmusic magazine I will incorporate
some elements of RnB in my Jazz magazine.
The third questionnaire that I included in my questionnaire was “whattypes of magazines do
you like to read?” these are the results that I received.
What I gathered from this is that my target audience the types of music magazines that they
read are not Jazzrelated, and they preferred music magazines such as Billboard. This is due to
the fact that 5 out of 10 people picked billboard magazine. Therefore when creating my jazz
magazine I would use magazines such as ‘Billboard’ to help me structure it.
The fourth question in my questionnaire was “how oftendo youread music magazines?” this is
result that I received.

Every week Every two weeks Every three weeks More
3. Majority of my target audience said that they read a music magazine every week, meanwhile
none of them said that they read a music magazine every twoweeks, 2 out of 10 of them said
they read a music magazine every three weeks and 1 out of 10 of them said they read a music
more than every three weeks.
Another question that I included in my questionnaire was “what iconography would you
associate witha jazzmagazine?” this was the result that I received.
For this question many of my target audience said that the iconography that they would
associate witha Jazzmagazine is a saxophone, this is as 9 out of 10 of them picked it. Meanwhile
only 1 out of 10 picked a trumpet. This couldmean that my audience appeal more to a
saxophone rather than a trumpet or a Fedora. As a result this suggest that when constructing
my music magazine I should inco-operate a saxophone into it as it would appeal more to my
target audience.
For my fifthquestion I asked my target audience “whatcolour scheme would youprefer me to
use formy Jazzmagazine?” this was the result that I received.

this is as half of the people who participated in my questionnaire picked it. Meanwhile 3 out of
10 people preferred the second colourscheme (White,Red and Black) and 2 out of 10 of them
preferred the third colourscheme (Burgundy, Blackand White). This shows me that when
constructing my music magazine I should you the first colour scheme, this is due to the factthat
overall it appeals to majority of my target audience.
For my the sixth questionnaire I asked my target audience “wouldyoulike me to include an
interview and what Jazzmusic is about in my magazine?” these were the results that I received
It is clear to me that my audience would prefer me to include an interview and to discuss what
Jazzmusic is about formy double-page spread, this is as 80% of them said “yes”.However20%
of my audience said “no”.This suggest that when constructing my music magazine I should have
an interview with a Jazz artist and outline and explain what Jazz music is about in my magazine,
this is as it would appeal to majority of my audience.
Another question that asked in my questionnaire was “How much wouldyou pay fora music
magazine?” this was the result that I received.

a music magazine.

The last question in my questionnaire was “wouldyouprefer the main image of my magazine to
be a long-shot or a close-up? These were the results that I received.
This shows me that 6 out of 10 people prefer a mid-shot, meanwhile only 2 out of 10 preferred a
long-shot and 1 out of 10 preferred a close-up shot. HoweverI will be using a mid-shot forthe
