D
For example, pretend these are the
amount of time it took to find Sams`
lost mobile phone. (IN MINS)
11,12,16,16,17,19,23,24 21,
25,27,29,22,29,22,20,23,22,34,34,38,39,3
9,30,30,32,30,33,41,41,42,47,49,44,45,48,
59,50,54,57,52,51,56,58,58
Then to put them in a stem and leaf
diagram you do the following.
Stem And Leaf
Stem And Leaf
Write the tens so the MINS start at 11 and end at
58 so you would put in a list 1,2,3,4 and 5
1
2
3
4
5
Putting the 10`s on the left and side
of the line means you only put the
units on the right hand side of the
line. For example, 11. There is
already 1 on the left hand side of
the line so you add a 1 on the right
and side, same 22 or 38 add the unit
(ie last digit) on the right hand side
when dealing with 2 digit numbers.
Stem And Leaf

1,2,5,5,7,9 These numbers
are all 11,12,15,15,17,19
3,4,1,5,7,9,2,9,2,0,3,2
4,4,8,9,9,0,0,2,0,3,
1,1,2,7,9,4,5,8
9,0,4,7,2,1,6,8,8
Now add the units from the Mins to find sams` phone.
This known as an unordered stem and leaf diagram as
the numbers are not in order from 0-9 on the right hand
side of the line.

1,2,5,5,7,9
0,1,2,2,2,3,3,4,5,7,9,9
0,0,0,2,3,4,4,8,9,9
1,1,2,4,5,7,8,9
0,1,2,4,6,7,8,8,9
This known as an ordered stem and leaf diagram as
the numbers are in order from 0-9 on the right hand
side of the line.
By having your numbers in order it
makes it easier to find the
following:
MODE:
MEDIAN:
MEAN:
RANGE:
Stem And Leaf
WHAT DOES MEAN MEAN?
The mean is all the numbers added together and
divided by how many there are.
For Example;
6,8,2,1,9,5,3,9
6+8+2+9+5+3 divide by 6 because there are 6
numbers. = 11/2 = 5.5 THE MEAN IS 5.5
Stem And Leaf
Stem And Leaf
WHAT DOES MODE MEAN?
The mode is the most common
number.
1,2,6,8,4,2,6,8,2,6,2,6,2,9,2,8,2
2 is the most common, it is repeated
7 times so it is the MODE.
Stem And Leaf
WHAT DOES MEDIAN MEAN?
The median is the middle number, if there is an
even amount of numbers it will be the middle
number, if it is not a even amount of numers it
will be 2 numbers and you have to split em.
So for even numbers
68,72,77,79,81,88,88
THE MEDIAN IS 79 AS IT IS IN THE MIDDLE.
Stem And Leaf
WHAT DOES MEDIAN MEAN?
However, for odd numbers
62,97,14,23,43,50,81,90
62 and 90
97 and 81
14 and 50
That leaves 23 and 43 you need to find the middle number.
The Middle number is 33. SO THE MEDIAN FOR ODD
NUMBERS
IS 33.
Stem And Leaf
WHAT DOES RANGE MEAN?
The range is the highest number take-away the smallest
number.
For Example,
21,92,13,56,82,75,104,29,94
The highest number 104
The lowest number 13
104-13=91
THE RANGE IS 91
Stem And Leaf
SWAP BOOKS WITH THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU AND GIVE THEM A
WWW AND EBI, THEN THE PERSON WHO`S BOOK IT IS NEEDS TO
RESPOND .COM.
YOU HAVE BEEN ABLE TO
TRANSFER RAW DATA INTO
A STEM AND LEAF DIAGRAM
ADD THE
MODE,MEDIAN,MEAN AND
RANGE.
I AM ABLE TO INDEPENDANTLY
TRANSFER DATA AND PUT IT INTO
A STEM AND LEAF DIAGRAM, ALSO I
NEED TO ADD MODE,MEDIAN,MEAN
AND RANGE TO GET FULL AMRKS IN
AN EXAM.
THINK OF A WWW AND EBI FOR
YOUR SELF
WRITE DOWN A WWW AND EBI FOR
YOUR PARTNER.
GIVE THE BOOK BACK TO YOUR
PARTNER.

Stem and leaf

  • 2. For example, pretend these are the amount of time it took to find Sams` lost mobile phone. (IN MINS) 11,12,16,16,17,19,23,24 21, 25,27,29,22,29,22,20,23,22,34,34,38,39,3 9,30,30,32,30,33,41,41,42,47,49,44,45,48, 59,50,54,57,52,51,56,58,58 Then to put them in a stem and leaf diagram you do the following. Stem And Leaf
  • 3. Stem And Leaf Write the tens so the MINS start at 11 and end at 58 so you would put in a list 1,2,3,4 and 5 1 2 3 4 5 Putting the 10`s on the left and side of the line means you only put the units on the right hand side of the line. For example, 11. There is already 1 on the left hand side of the line so you add a 1 on the right and side, same 22 or 38 add the unit (ie last digit) on the right hand side when dealing with 2 digit numbers.
  • 4. Stem And Leaf 1 2 3 4 5 1,2,5,5,7,9 These numbers are all 11,12,15,15,17,19 3,4,1,5,7,9,2,9,2,0,3,2 4,4,8,9,9,0,0,2,0,3, 1,1,2,7,9,4,5,8 9,0,4,7,2,1,6,8,8 Now add the units from the Mins to find sams` phone. This known as an unordered stem and leaf diagram as the numbers are not in order from 0-9 on the right hand side of the line.

  • 6. By having your numbers in order it makes it easier to find the following: MODE: MEDIAN: MEAN: RANGE: Stem And Leaf
  • 7. WHAT DOES MEAN MEAN? The mean is all the numbers added together and divided by how many there are. For Example; 6,8,2,1,9,5,3,9 6+8+2+9+5+3 divide by 6 because there are 6 numbers. = 11/2 = 5.5 THE MEAN IS 5.5 Stem And Leaf
  • 8. Stem And Leaf WHAT DOES MODE MEAN? The mode is the most common number. 1,2,6,8,4,2,6,8,2,6,2,6,2,9,2,8,2 2 is the most common, it is repeated 7 times so it is the MODE.
  • 9. Stem And Leaf WHAT DOES MEDIAN MEAN? The median is the middle number, if there is an even amount of numbers it will be the middle number, if it is not a even amount of numers it will be 2 numbers and you have to split em. So for even numbers 68,72,77,79,81,88,88 THE MEDIAN IS 79 AS IT IS IN THE MIDDLE.
  • 10. Stem And Leaf WHAT DOES MEDIAN MEAN? However, for odd numbers 62,97,14,23,43,50,81,90 62 and 90 97 and 81 14 and 50 That leaves 23 and 43 you need to find the middle number. The Middle number is 33. SO THE MEDIAN FOR ODD NUMBERS IS 33.
  • 11. Stem And Leaf WHAT DOES RANGE MEAN? The range is the highest number take-away the smallest number. For Example, 21,92,13,56,82,75,104,29,94 The highest number 104 The lowest number 13 104-13=91 THE RANGE IS 91

YOU HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TRANSFER RAW DATA INTO A STEM AND LEAF DIAGRAM ADD THE MODE,MEDIAN,MEAN AND RANGE. I AM ABLE TO INDEPENDANTLY TRANSFER DATA AND PUT IT INTO A STEM AND LEAF DIAGRAM, ALSO I NEED TO ADD MODE,MEDIAN,MEAN AND RANGE TO GET FULL AMRKS IN AN EXAM. THINK OF A WWW AND EBI FOR YOUR SELF WRITE DOWN A WWW AND EBI FOR YOUR PARTNER. GIVE THE BOOK BACK TO YOUR PARTNER.
