Chêne D Allouville Research Paper
In the France commune of Allouville–Bellefosse in Normandy, there is an interesting oak tree
church called "Chêne d'Allouville." The chapel oak tree is not just some human–made decoration, it
was build inside a true oak, the age of which is approximately from 800 to 1000 years. Some
scientists even say that it has more than 1200 years. According to legend, it was constructed in
honor of the founding of Normandy in the year 911. However, what is known for sure is that the
idea to build a chapel inside the old oak came to the local Abbot named De Troyes – who was also a
priest of the local church parish – 400 years ago. He noticed that the oak, after a lightning strike that
split and burned it, began to grow again. After seeing the miracle, ... Show more content on

The chapel, in turn, "Our Lady of Peace" has the following dimensions: 1.75 m in length and 1.17 m
in width and about 2.3 m in height. Also, around the oak, there snakes a spiral staircase by which
you can climb to the Hermit's room. The top of the chapel even had a small bell and cross. The bell,
unfortunately, has not survived to our days as well as the cross. On the walls of the Our Lady of
Peace chapel, there hang the images of St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary, and in the center of the
room, there is an altar with two candles and a chandelier on the ceiling. During the French
revolution, thanks to a local teacher the chapel was saved. The teacher placed there a plaque with the
inscription "Temple of Reason." In the 19th century, the French Empress Eugénie de Montijo, wife
of Napoleon II, gave the chapel a gilded wooden statue of the Virgin Mary. Today, the oak chapel of
Allouville–Bellefosse is a historical monument and is protected. Also, in order to ensure the
reliability of it, in 1988 it was decided to make a metal frame for it, while the cracks the oak had
were covered with red tiles and metal. In 2007, the spiral staircase was replaced by a metal one. In
fact, some restoration changes are made constantly concerning the

1960's Sex Education Anna Quindlen
As a father of a 17 year old daughter, I have a great stake in education. Having to worry about
creating a citizen in this day and age is immensely easier and harder than it was a few decades ago.
When it comes to education, we take for granted how far it has actually progressed, we tend to focus
more on how education is still lacking. Although society has come a long way in enhancing
educational opportunities for teenagers, we are far from ensuring teens receive the best possible
education.
Not long ago sex was taboo and not openly discussed in society or school. Author Anna Quindlen
recalls her high school years during the 1960's where "There was a straight line on sex among my
friends. Boys could have sex; girls couldn't" (108). It was ok for males to have sex, but if a woman
was not a virgin, she would lie and say she was. This led to many unplanned pregnancies due to
nothing more than simple unpreparedness and lack of education. Education was lacking on how to
avoid pregnancy, or what to do if women did get pregnant. This would not always be the case. ...

The stigma that females cannot have sex outside of wedlock is gone. When asking girls from a local
high school Anna Quindlen was told "If you were a virgin, you just lied about it so that no one
would think you were immature" (199). This development is the complete opposite of what it was
40 years ago. Teenagers are getting more educated about sex and pregnancy than they used to, but
teens are also getting more pressure to have sex as well. Society's impact is not just confined to
viewing women and men more equal when it comes to sex, but also in other areas such as the
education of math and

The U.S. Virgin Islands is predominantly an English...
The U.S. Virgin Islands is predominantly an English speaking island; however the most popular
language spoken over the past 400 years has been a Virgin Islands Creole English, as well as Dutch
Creole. The U.S. Virgin Islands became an English speaking country in 1917 when the island was
formerly the Danish West Indies. Over the years Virgin Islanders have communicated with each
other with a dialect some Virgin Islanders call "broken English", although some scholars call it
Creole English. Virgin Islanders have also made up many expressions of wisdom and truth handed
them down from earlier generations and are still being used today.
The term creole was formed by enslaved Africans whom were unable to communicate with each

is more distinct and carry different characteristics because they share many similarities with the
English creole of Belize and Panama. (CITE)
The dialect of St. John and St. Thomas share similarities with both the crucian and the British virgin
islands variants. St. Croix was owned by the French until 1733 when the Danes bought the island in
1741. (cite) There were as many English on the island of dance and English creole came to St. Croix

are simple with little use of grammar (cite). The switch from Dutch creole to English was quite hard
for because of the lack of correct forms of grammar. English creole formed as the populous learned
English verbs, nouns and adjectives, but it lacked the correct rules for putting them together. (cite)
The phrases that began with "I is" and "I be" illustrated the lack of grammar rules these phrases are
often heard today in random and casual conversations with the local and especially young children.

Most linguists describe the dialect of the us virgin islands as transitional language where there is a
bridge between Dutch creole and standard English. Although the

The Olive Tree : The Origin Of The Olive Tree
The olive tree is a unique tree that has ancient roots. It only cultivates in subtropical climates in both
the northern and southern hemispheres, mainly the Mediterranean regions. The olive tree grows
between 10 and 40 feet tall and it harvests white flowers in the ending of spring, which grows into
olives. It however does not start reaping olives until it is eight years old, and the olives it grows
cannot be harvested until the tree is at least fifteen years old. Once the olive tree reaches this
harvesting stage, it will harvest olives for the next 65 years and live for several hundred years. Olive
oil which is obtained from the olives harvested from the olive tree have been in existence since early
history. It is however not clear when and where olive trees originated from. Some historians state
that the Persians were the first to have the proper equipment and ways to develop olive oil in 12,000
B.C. On the other hand, it is also recorded that the Egyptians have benefited from the use of olive oil
for skin care, rituals for funeral and making their pharaohs (Kings) in to mummies in 6000 B.C.
Other source states that this blessed tree was discovered in 5000 B.C. in Asia and expanded from
Iran and Palestine to the rest of the Mediterranean.
The Greeks believe that the olive tree was a gift from the Greek goddess of wisdom, Athena, to the
Greeks. In this culture, the olive tree is as a symbol of harmony, dignity, victory and the oil was used
as a prize for the winner of the

St. Luke and the Virgin (Comparison to 4 Other Paintings)
St. Luke and the Virgin For My Museum Essay, I have chosen Rogier van der Weyden's "St. Luke
drawing the Virgin" (c. 1435–40). First of all, this painting is an extraordinarily beautiful piece of
art, with both meticulous details and true to life emotional state of the figures portrayed. And it
intrigued me even more when I found out that there is a very compositionally similar painting by
Jan Van Eyck ("Madonna with Chancellor Rolin"). 1. "St. Luke drawing the Virgin" (c.1435–40) by
Rogier van der Weyden. First thing that I noticed about this gorgeous oil and tempera on panel
painting was the precise emotional aspect: romantic and simple, yet so exceptionally lifelike. This
work surely shows a development from the powerfully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, it is tempera on panel, which possibly could explain many imperfections. But what really
catches your attention in Gentile's painting is an absolute lack of air, along with irrational usage of
space. It seems like the artist was stacking human figures in the painting, so that everybody's face
would be shown. There we can see a greater deal of International Gothic style (straight lines, look–
alike faces, awkward/illogical body positions, etc.) Still the most significant difference between
Rogier's work and Gentile's work is the usage of space, presence of atmosphere. While going up the
hill, in "Adoration of the Magi", all the details stay the same as if there was no air. It's impossible to
ignore artist's very primitive light/shadow usage: not only it's extremely difficult imagine where the
light source is, but you can't even find a single rational shadow. Rogier van Weyden's "St. Luke
drawing the Virgin" surely excelled the painting of Gentile da Fabriano in many aspects. An
excellent example of using a unified light source (which creates real shadows and gives the
otherwise flat figures three dimensions) and one point perspective is the painting "The Tribute
Money" (c. 1427) by the great Masaccio (Tommaso di Ser Giovanni di Simone.) The work was done
in fresco (a technique of mural painting executed upon freshly laid lime plaster), which is quite
typical for Italian Renaissance artists. There are a couple of similarities is

Cambodia: A Place of Countless Struggles
Alongside many countries in Asia, Cambodia is a place of countless struggles. Poverty, lack of
education, abuse, and sexual trafficking consume most of Cambodia, and the government continues
to let these issues flourish. One of the most prominent problems Cambodia battles with is the sex
industry, with prostitution and trafficking rates skyrocketing. According to recent human trafficking
statistics, an immense amount of victims are sexually trafficked and exploited in Cambodia each
year, but 80% of victims are young women and girls (Bertone). While sex trafficking affects nearly
every country, Asia is severely tainted by human slavery. In Cambodia, the sexual exploitation and
trafficking of children is on the rise due to the increasing sexual objectification of young girls and
boys. In order to understand why Cambodia is filled with so many struggles, one must examine the
countries' past catastrophes. What first triggered all the poverty and crime was the Cambodian
genocide under Pol Pot. This period of genocide spanned from 1975–1979, and it is estimated that
the Khmer Rouge killed 1.7 million people. They specifically targeted Buddhists, ethnic groups and
those who were educated in society (Chigas and Mosyakov). The genocide was short lived but it had
long–lasting effects, leaving Cambodia in a frenzy of poverty and disease. In 2014, Cambodia can
still feel aftershocks of this terrible occurrence, and it contributes to the rising sexual trafficking and
exploitation

Universalism Vs Particularism
In this case, I would explain to Issa the relationship we have with Jesus. It is a loving, caring,
committed relationship. It requires nurturing and time. Once we realize how much Jesus loves us,
we will value time spent with Him. We will yearn to be near Him and want our relationship to grow.
Universalism vs. Particularism Issa comes from a particularistic culture which is very different from
my culture. I do not like to barter when shopping. When in countries where that is the norm, I'd
rather not shop at all. I just want to know the price, and pay it. According to the website Access
Gambia, "The cost of things can vary greatly and the final price you pay may well depend on your
bargaining and haggling skills" (2009–2016). There was a time that Issa bought back some goods
after a trip to Gambia. As I asked her the price for a particular necklace, I got the impression that
depending on the person, the price varied. On the surface, it may seem difficult to explain the gospel
to someone from a particularistic culture, but it is not. Jesus expresses universalism in His love for
us. It does not matter who we are, what our family background is, where we are from, what our
occupation, or how much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

affective nature is not only for political events. She had an issue with her ex–husband and that was
the topic for my entire appointment. She is very expressive and flamboyant in her gestures. I believe
it is her culture not just her personality. I can her the same excitability when she's talking on the

The Honeybee in Agriculture
Since 1992, the honeybee has been Oklahoma's state insect, largely because honeybees carry out a
significant task in agriculture. The honeybee and its contributions to the world dates back thousands
of years ago and continues to be by far one of the most extraordinary animals ever. Honeybees are
being used in research to detect drugs, bombs and cancer. Also in developing treatments for an array
of infirmities in humans, but this is just a few among many things that honeybees have contributed
to the human world. Honeybees and the products they emit have many diverse uses in cultures
around the world. But above all the amazing and important things, plant pollination is by far the

All three caste members go through four stages of development; egg, larva, pupa and adult. The
queen lays eggs in worker and drone cells; fertilized eggs in can develop into workers or queens and
unfertilized eggs develop into drones. While in the larva stage a honeybee is fed royal jelly, after
third day the larva is fed beebread a mixture of honey and pollen. Nine days after hatching the larva
is fully grown and stops feeding, this is when a cocoon is spun around the larva. During this time the
adult body structures are formed. Once it has transformed into an adult, it is ready to emerge. A
queen can live up to 5 years sometimes longer and only mates once in her lifetime. She is created at
the decision of worker bees by feeding the larva only royal honey. On the sixteenth day from the
time the egg was laid the new virgin queen will tear back the cap from her cell and emerge with her
tongue stuck out begging for food. Soon after she has been fed by workers she will crawl out of the
cell to dry. When the virgin queen has completely dried and gathered her strength she will make a
shrill noise and wait for a response from other potential queens who hasn't emerged from their cells.
Once the virgin queen has received response from the others she will then seek them out, tear back

Qantas Report
1. Executive Summary
Qantas is one of the most recognised and longest running Australian companies. It is the world's
second oldest airline, and has a successful history to uphold (Qantas Web Site, 2008).
Identification of target markets is imperative to Qantas's success. Mortished (2003) explains that
Qantas uses Behavioural segmentation to select its target market. This allows for the market to be
divided and products and advertising to be specifically aimed at the most responsive customers.
Qantas divides its target market into two main groups; Business and leisure
Qantas has three major problems. 1.) Fuel efficiency, 2.) Lack of communication between employers
and employees, 3.) Competition in the corporate customer market (Ferguson ... Show more content

This threat of further increasing fuel prices poses a greater challenge to Qantas than any
international disaster. Qantas recognised that change was necessary in order to remain successful in
this volatile industry. In 2006 Qantas launched Jetstar international, expanded freight and
restructured catering (Qantas web site, 2008).
In 2007 Qantas had a successful year despite a failed takeover bid, fierce competition, aircraft
delivery delays and record fuel prices (Qantas Annual Report, 2007). Qantas must ensure that
controllable, internal factors affecting the business are managed to minimise impact from
unexpected external factors.
Internal factors that must be addressed are poor industrial relations and human resource
management. The company must also attract a greater proportion of the corporate market share from
its competitors and reduce CO2 emissions to ease government and public pressures.
4. Who is the Customer/Market and how are we giving value
Target market is the market segment to which a particular good or service is marketed. It is
generally studied and mapped by an organization through lists and reports containing demographic
information that may have an effect on the marketing of key products or services.
Qantas is a global company whose primary operation involves carrying passengers, however it also
has other functions that are crucial to the success of the business, including its freight

Political Factors
These are Government operating regulations within which the airlines have to work with. The Single
European Sky (SES) initiative was created to serve as a regulator for Air traffic management in the
European Union. The European airline deregulation has created a single market, removing
restrictions from member countries and creating international competitiveness. This would mean
reduced competitive advantage of national carriers like British Airways which is a good for Virgin
Atlantic. However, this has also seen

Psychosocial Stages In Antwone Fisher
The movie, Antwone Fisher, is a biography based off a real person named Antwone Fisher. It
follows the problems he lived through in his life. In the movie, Antwone goes through Erikson's
Psychosocial stages and solves many of the problems he had when growing up. Erik Erikson's
stages of Psychosocial Development is a theory that says every individual goes through eight stages
throughout their life as they get older. He states that every person has a crisis in each stage and the
outcome of each stage shapes how one is and how one will be for the rest of their lives. The first
stage is trust versus mistrust which occurs from birth to 1.5 years–old. If an infant successfully
develops trust, he or she feels safe and secure. On the other hand, a child who fails to develop trust
will feel afraid and that the world is unpredictable all their life. It is clear that Antwone gained
mistrust because he was born in a prison and probably was not properly cared for. His father was
never around him because he died before he was born. An example of Antwone showing mistrust

It is during the ages 18 to 40 (early adulthood). This stage deals with forming personal relationships
and feeling loved. Successful relationships are one that are enduring and secure. Having a strong
sense of self identity is important for developing intimate relationships according to Erickson.
People in less committed relationships are more likely to suffer emotional isolation, loneliness, and
depression. At first, Antwone is isolated. He was 25 and had never been in a relationship before and
was still a virgin. This is because he was traumatized as a child when he got raped by Nadine at the
age of six and he was still finding who he was. By the end, he was in a happy relationship with

Personal Narrative: My Interview With Women

suffering. The girl I interviewed was born into a family with 6 siblings. The first 5 siblings were all

While she was unconscious she says a man saved her and she believes this is what changed her

Pieta Michelangelo
On March 6, Michelangelo was brought into this world by his mother, Francesca di Neri del Miniato
di Siena, and his father, Ludovico di Leonardo Buonarroti Simoni, in Caprese, Italy in 1475. His
mother pasted away in 1481, when he was just six years old; during that time, he was placed with a
family of stonecutters. Later on Michelangelo's father realized that his son had no interest in the
family business, therefore, at the age of 13, he engaged to the Florentine painter's workshop. There
he was introduced to the painter Domenico Ghirlandaio, and he was exposed to the technique of

Baroque and High Renaissance
Baroque and High Renaissance are two very important periods in art history, during that time a lot
of different forms of art were created which include architecture, painting, and music. Baroque is
just another word for having flashy symmetrical decoration. It's a style that started around the 1600s
in Italy and with its popularity it quickly spread around Europe. High Renaissance artist displaces
the importance of draftsmanship, structured, and often–centralized compositions. Many artists
quickly rise to stardom during these eras. This paper compares and contrasts these two art periods
with the works created by great artists such as Marcantonio Franceschini who lived during the
Baroque period and Mariotto Albertinelli who lived during the High Renaissance period.
Baroque style of art was not always popular it has had a bad reputation since 18th century
Neoclassicism as irregular, strange, or otherwise departing from conventional rules and sizes.
Baroque come form the Portuguese word barroco which means imperfectly shaped pearl. It
implemented a propagandistic stance in which art was to serve as a means of prolonging and rousing
the public's trust in the Catholic Counter Reformation Church; it quickly became the official art of
the Church. The artworks produced in the Baroque era were both sensuous and spiritual, while the
true to life treatment made the religious image more available to the average churchgoer. Baroque

The life and ministry of Jesus is usually defined as the moment where God intervened in human
history for a special purpose. This intervention occurred so humanity's relationship could be restored
to the way it was originally intended to be. Sin entered the world through the disobedience of the

English Essay
'A sense of belonging often emerges as a result of our feelings of acceptance and understanding.'
Belonging is a feeling that all humans want and need to survive. Without being accepted by anybody
you will feel left out and alone, you wouldn't have anybody to guide you or even help you make
good quality decisions in life. With a sense of acceptance you would feel on top of the world and
ready to take on anything because you know that the people with you will always have your back.
But belonging means something different to everybody, some people feel like they associate to a
group of friends/communities/sporting teams, while others may think they are attached to a certain

'Ancestors' explore the relationship between the people of the past and present, and how it affects
our ability to connect in the physical world. The ancestors are metaphors for 'shadows' that linger in
dreams, represented as 'bearded, faceless' spirits that once experienced a sense of identity with the
physical world, but now reside in a shadowy realm. The composer feels connected to this world and
feels a sense of belonging to it. The ancestors are illuminated through the juxtaposed images of
'walking' and 'sleeping', 'light' and 'darkness', and 'stillness' and 'motion'. The use of imagery in the
dream world of the ancestors is extrasensory and reflects aspects that the composer can comprehend
about the spirit world. By accepting and taking in what the composer's ancestors had to say he found
his sense of identity for himself and what he truly is.

Youth Marketing
After a moving target by Jo Bowman 5–Nov–04, 08:49 Asia 's youth may be a moving target but
targeted traditional media, from print to radio, can still work Parents used to bemoan the fact that
their kids were constantly glued to the set; now they despair that young people don 't seem to focus
on anything for more than a few minutes. Sure, they 're still watching TV, but no longer are they
couch potatoes, absorbing everything that flashes across the screen; they 're flicking channels,

children. While in Thailand, Virgin Radio Asia has just launched two new radio stations aimed at
young listeners. Stations in the northern university city, Chiang Mai, and on the holiday island of Ko

Analysis Of Al Lowe And Sierra On-Line
Al Lowe and Sierra On–Line released Larry Laffer's first adventure in 1987. The premise of the
Larry games is one most of us guys can relate too: hook up with some smoking hot women. In 2013
an enhanced version was released after a successful kickstarter campaign. The game has underwent
quite the graphical overhaul in this enhanced release, however most of the original concepts remain
intact.
And that is a good thing, because Leisure Suit Larry is a hilarious game. Al Lowe has created a
game with a juvenile sense of humor that dares you keep a straight face. The, quite frankly,
ridiculous situations Larry stumbles into sticks with you after finishing the game. The puzzles are
excellently rooted in reality. Larry needs wine and condoms for

Jesus And Muhammad Research Paper
Interpreting the Roles of Mohammed and Jesus
Having read much of the Bible and having attended Christian Church for almost three decades, I can
say that I have never heard Mohammed's name mentioned in the Bible, nor any scripture I've ever
heard or read. This strikes me as a little strange, since I've now read that Jesus is mentioned in Islam
and is certainly well known in Judaism. Throughout the western religions, opinions vary about the
roles of Jesus and Mohammed. My goal in this paper is not to try to decide which religion is right
about their views of Jesus and Mohammed, but simply compare and contrast the views of each
person in the major western religions. Jews do not accept Jesus as the Messiah. In the old testament
of the Bible, there are about sixty different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Muslims believe in four prophets, Adam, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. Mohammad was born in
Makkah, Arabia (now Mecca, Saudi Arabia) in 570 A.D. Muslims believe that the Quran was
verbally revealed by God to Muhammad, through the angel Gabriel, gradually over a period of
approximately twenty–three years beginning in 609 A.D. when Muhammad was 40 years old.
Shortly after Muhammad's death, several of his disciples started to write down his teachings.
Muhammad died in 632 A.D., over a half–century after Jesus was crucified. This chronology is
important in answering the question, why is Jesus mentioned in Christianity, Judaism and Islam but
not Muhammad. Some of the oldest Old Testament accounts take place with Moses. Moses lived
between 1500 and 1300 B.C. The New Testament was written during the last half of the first century
A.D., so 50–100 A.D. The Quran dates back to the sixth century A.D. Muhammad lived from 570
A.D. to 632 A.D. So, it's pretty clear that by the time both the Old and New Testaments were
written, Muhammad wasn't even born yet, so it's clear as to why he isn't mentioned in the

Increasing Minimum Wage in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands
Early in the management of the FLSA, it became apparent that submission of the statutory minimum
salary was expected to produce undesirable consequences upon the finances of Puerto Rico and the
Virgin isles if applied to all of their covered industries. Consequently on June 26, 1940, an
amendment was enacted prescribing the establishment of exceptional commerce managing groups to
determine, and topic through salary instructions, the smallest salary grades applicable in Puerto Rico
and the Virgin isles. The rates established by commerce committees could be less than the statutory
rates applicable in another place in the United States.

Parity with nonfarm employees was come to at $2.30 with the 1977 amendments.
The 1977 amendments, by eliminating the distinct lower minimum for large farming employers
(although keeping the overtime exemption), set a new consistent wage agenda for all enclosed
workers. The smallest went to $2.65 an hour in January 1978, $2.90 in January 1979, $3.10 in
January 1980, and $3.35 in January 1981. The amendments alleviated the provisions for
establishments allowed to provide work scholars at the smaller wage rate and permitted exceptional

employees in hotels, motels, and bistros was eradicated. To allow for the effects of inflation, the

During the late 14th century until about the 16th century, Italy and other European countries
underwent a time of rebirth of the Ancient Greek and Roman classics. This era was known as the
Renaissance. The citizens of Europe were surrounded by advancements in technology, music, and
culture. However, one of the most prevalent changes that is still in affect today is the newly founded
techniques in the arts. Artists began to think outside of the box, and they made some of the best
paintings of their time. They used different methods than artists from previous centuries had,
including classicism, secularism, humanism, and individualism. One of the greatest artists of all

Perspective was important during the Italian Renaissance because it made artworks look more real
and three–dimensional. Perspective was a technique in which an artist would use lines to establish a
foreground, middleground, and a background. In centuries past, many of the artists' works would
look flat because they didn't use perspective. In the Pietá Mary looks farther away from the audience
than Jesus' body does. At the same time, Jesus' head takes a spot in the middleground of the artwork.
He is able to depict a Jesus' foot to look like it is on top of or mixing with the dress that Mary is
wearing. This was important because in the past, many works of arts' backgrounds would all mix
together to create a flat painting. In his sculpture, Michaelangelo uses perspective to give a more
realistic feeling to the artwork.
One of the most prominent developments in Michaelangelo's sculpture is his use of realism and
expression. In his sculpture, realism is shown through the creases of Mary's dress and veil and the
ways that the body's of the two subjects were molded. They were more 3–D and didn't look flat;
they showed more dimension than sculptures in the past had. At the same time, Michaelangelo also
used expression in both of the subjects. Mary looks like she is

conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, emotional stability, and open to experience

Belton discusses the contrast between the words and actions, specifically the manner in which men

capturing the attention of female counterparts. Belton also states that a large factor of geek comedy
is that it entails highly sexualized beginnings which turn into love interests and lasting relationships.
It is movies like "Knocked Up", "Easy A", "Juno" and "40 Year Old Virgin" that prove this theme to
be apparent within this subgenre. Ben and Allison initially start out as a one night stand and by the

Swot Analysis Of Virgin Mobile
Virgin Mobile, is an American phone service provider that has struggled to become a top service
provider since it has entered the market. Although there are many areas that can be fixed to help
Virgin Mobile further succeed, the company does have many strengths within it. A major strength
includes, the partnership with MTV and Nickelodeon. With this partnership, Virgin Mobile is able to
guarantee its customers exclusive rights to MTV branded accessories and phones. Furthermore,
guarantee branded content such as ring tones, text alerts, voice mail and graphics. An additional
strength is Virgin Mobile's partnership with Sprint and their shared network space as well as Virgin
Mobile producing cheaper headsets than the rest of their competitors. The distribution market
through major well–known channels that include; Best Buy, Target and Circuit City is also a major
strength. Having their products available in these stores makes it easily accessible and available to a
large market. Virgin Mobile's exclusive plan called Virgin Extras is yet another strength because
their service allows their customers to have exclusive deals within the company. Virgin Mobile's
lack of success in Singapore and the lost sales that raised their churning rate is an evident weakness.
The small budget available for production and distribution is a strong weakness, as they cannot
compete against larger competitions budgets. The low brand recognition and customer loyalty for

Unfortunately, even though technology is increasing, not everyone has access to the World Wide
Web, in fact around 40% of the world population has Internet connection to this day, but anyone
with a mail service, television, newspaper or radio can learn about your services or products. Also
through many forms of traditional advertising you can achieve personalisation, which is key to
attracting customers. Print advertising is seen as one of the most traditional ways of attracting new
customers. You can purchase adverts in newspapers and magazine's on a local or national scale, and
also have the ability to target readers of specific publications related to your industry. Another
method is communicating through direct mail, once information of both customers and potential
customers have been collected in the database, companies have the chance to send them direct mail.
Direct mail allows you to target individuals with specific messages and most importantly, that are
tailored to them, whilst also keeping your company image in their minds on a regular basis, offering
discount codes and latest offers. A recent form of marketing is guerilla advertising; this technique

In the first five days after the Jesuit Missionaries came to the Yaqui country, they had converted five
thousand Yaqui natives. The Yaqui's have taken this convergence and now have what is considered
to be a complex syncretism of their native and Catholic beliefs. One does not have a superiority over
the other, there is no confusing one over the other and yet they are the same. Itom Aye (Our mother)

Yet, the animistic religion the natives had formerly practiced was never fully replaced–it was
adapted into Catholic teachings, and this new belief system was allowed to flourish.

By allowing this we see the formation of two religions, which allow the Yaqui to still practice their
now Catholic faith and yet keep the traditional heritage and culture alive. This is best said in the
following: Religious syncretism at its best is not old truths in new guise or just old or new truths
confused; rather, through a creative dialectic, new religious insights have been born. Herbert
Richardson phrases the need for such creative interpenetration very nicely: "Christianity has been a
Western religion too long. While there is strength in the West, there is also a great lack.
Christianity...must be strengthened and renewed by prophets from the East. (Herbert Richardson 's

Adam And Eve Reflection Paper
Presentation In the beginning of the existence of Earth, God created the heavens and the earth,
according to Genesis 1:1. After creating most of creation, on the sixth day God created a significant
being: Adam. God made Adam and Eve, the first humans, in His image (Genesis 1:27). Upon
creating them, He tasked them with governing the land (Genesis 1:28). However, they failed to rule
under the authority of God. They disobeyed God by listening to the enemy: "So when the woman
saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be
desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who
was with her, and he ate" (Genesis 3:6). God brought judgment and, out of grace, promised that He
will bring enmity between the enemy and humanity via a woman's offspring: "I will put enmity
between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your
head, and you shall bruise his heel" (Genesis 3:15). However, from the time of Adam and Eve,
humanity has constantly failed to rule properly by not following God's perfect rationale. Scot
McKnight wrote, "Still, God gave Adam and Eve's descendants the opportunity to right the ship, but
they cascaded into a nightmare of usurpations that all but ruined their opportunity to govern on
God's behalf." When Abraham came into the picture, God chose him to make a nation to rule the
Earth, as God desired Adam and Eve. Namely, it was to be a nation to govern under God's
government. Abraham's nation eventually became Israel. The nation of Israel repeatedly failed to
rule under God's statutes. For instance, after God had delivered Israel from Egypt, Israel fell into
idolatry. Additionally, when the nation of Israel arrived in the Promised Land, the land that God had
promised Abraham that his lineage was going to rule, it failed to follow God's guidance. Fortunately,
however, God was able to use Abraham's lineage to bring Jesus Christ to humanity. Kings who
attempted, at times they did a remarkable job at being king because they submitted to God, preceded
Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the nation of Israel was the keepers of the Old Testament. That means
that they were also the

Prophets In Egyptian Religion
The prophet is a person chosen by God through whom He sends his earthly messages. In the three
religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, the prophets were the ones who laid the foundation,
spread the word of God, and led congregations. The three faiths share many of the same prophets,
like Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jacob and Joseph. The stories surrounding these prophets may slightly

Universal Studios greenlit him for the lead in yet another Apatow production: Knocked Up (2007), a
romantic comedy that follows the repercussions of a drunken one–night stand between his slacker
character and Katherine Heigl's just–promoted media personality that results in an unintended
pregnancy. Upon completing The 40–Year–Old Virgin, Apatow had approached Rogen about
potential starring roles, but the actor suggested

Essay On Batman Vs Captain American
Everyone might be choosing sides when it comes to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but
Captain America: Civil War star Paul Rudd has other things in mind. The Ant–Man actor was
recently a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden, where he admitted he was thrilled to
have been able to hold Captain America's shield for a few minutes!
Corden had initially asked Rudd who he was rooting for in Batman v Superman, but instead of
choosing either the Dark Knight or the Man of Steel, the actor simply stated that he was "in a
different family." Although the host was not able to get a better response from Rudd, his other guest
Diane Lane, who plays Clark Kent's mother in BvS, confirmed she is Team Superman all the way.
Rudd might not be taking sides when it comes to the DC film, but he is clearly on Team Captain
America. The actor shared that he was lucky enough to have the chance to hold the First Avenger's
shield, which usually gets handed off to the "props guy." ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

War.
There are also other superheroes who were able to handle Captain America's shield. Civil War will
also introduce Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider–Man, who also got to hold the shield in the
second trailer for the film. Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes has also been able to take the shield from
Chris Evans' Steve Rogers at least twice in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the two friends
even take turns wielding the shield in the first Civil War trailer.

Chêne D Allouville Research Paper

  • 1. Chêne D Allouville Research Paper In the France commune of Allouville–Bellefosse in Normandy, there is an interesting oak tree church called "Chêne d'Allouville." The chapel oak tree is not just some human–made decoration, it was build inside a true oak, the age of which is approximately from 800 to 1000 years. Some scientists even say that it has more than 1200 years. According to legend, it was constructed in honor of the founding of Normandy in the year 911. However, what is known for sure is that the idea to build a chapel inside the old oak came to the local Abbot named De Troyes – who was also a priest of the local church parish – 400 years ago. He noticed that the oak, after a lightning strike that split and burned it, began to grow again. After seeing the miracle, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The chapel, in turn, "Our Lady of Peace" has the following dimensions: 1.75 m in length and 1.17 m in width and about 2.3 m in height. Also, around the oak, there snakes a spiral staircase by which you can climb to the Hermit's room. The top of the chapel even had a small bell and cross. The bell, unfortunately, has not survived to our days as well as the cross. On the walls of the Our Lady of Peace chapel, there hang the images of St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary, and in the center of the room, there is an altar with two candles and a chandelier on the ceiling. During the French revolution, thanks to a local teacher the chapel was saved. The teacher placed there a plaque with the inscription "Temple of Reason." In the 19th century, the French Empress Eugénie de Montijo, wife of Napoleon II, gave the chapel a gilded wooden statue of the Virgin Mary. Today, the oak chapel of Allouville–Bellefosse is a historical monument and is protected. Also, in order to ensure the reliability of it, in 1988 it was decided to make a metal frame for it, while the cracks the oak had were covered with red tiles and metal. In 2007, the spiral staircase was replaced by a metal one. In fact, some restoration changes are made constantly concerning the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. 1960's Sex Education Anna Quindlen As a father of a 17 year old daughter, I have a great stake in education. Having to worry about creating a citizen in this day and age is immensely easier and harder than it was a few decades ago. When it comes to education, we take for granted how far it has actually progressed, we tend to focus more on how education is still lacking. Although society has come a long way in enhancing educational opportunities for teenagers, we are far from ensuring teens receive the best possible education. Not long ago sex was taboo and not openly discussed in society or school. Author Anna Quindlen recalls her high school years during the 1960's where "There was a straight line on sex among my friends. Boys could have sex; girls couldn't" (108). It was ok for males to have sex, but if a woman was not a virgin, she would lie and say she was. This led to many unplanned pregnancies due to nothing more than simple unpreparedness and lack of education. Education was lacking on how to avoid pregnancy, or what to do if women did get pregnant. This would not always be the case. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The stigma that females cannot have sex outside of wedlock is gone. When asking girls from a local high school Anna Quindlen was told "If you were a virgin, you just lied about it so that no one would think you were immature" (199). This development is the complete opposite of what it was 40 years ago. Teenagers are getting more educated about sex and pregnancy than they used to, but teens are also getting more pressure to have sex as well. Society's impact is not just confined to viewing women and men more equal when it comes to sex, but also in other areas such as the education of math and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The U.S. Virgin Islands is predominantly an English speaking island; however the most popular language spoken over the past 400 years has been a Virgin Islands Creole English, as well as Dutch Creole. The U.S. Virgin Islands became an English speaking country in 1917 when the island was formerly the Danish West Indies. Over the years Virgin Islanders have communicated with each other with a dialect some Virgin Islanders call "broken English", although some scholars call it Creole English. • 7. The Olive Tree : The Origin Of The Olive Tree The olive tree is a unique tree that has ancient roots. It only cultivates in subtropical climates in both the northern and southern hemispheres, mainly the Mediterranean regions. The olive tree grows between 10 and 40 feet tall and it harvests white flowers in the ending of spring, which grows into olives. It however does not start reaping olives until it is eight years old, and the olives it grows cannot be harvested until the tree is at least fifteen years old. Once the olive tree reaches this harvesting stage, it will harvest olives for the next 65 years and live for several hundred years. Olive oil which is obtained from the olives harvested from the olive tree have been in existence since early history. It is however not clear when and where olive trees originated from. Some historians state that the Persians were the first to have the proper equipment and ways to develop olive oil in 12,000 B.C. On the other hand, it is also recorded that the Egyptians have benefited from the use of olive oil for skin care, rituals for funeral and making their pharaohs (Kings) in to mummies in 6000 B.C. Other source states that this blessed tree was discovered in 5000 B.C. in Asia and expanded from Iran and Palestine to the rest of the Mediterranean. The Greeks believe that the olive tree was a gift from the Greek goddess of wisdom, Athena, to the Greeks. In this culture, the olive tree is as a symbol of harmony, dignity, victory and the oil was used as a prize for the winner of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. St. Luke and the Virgin (Comparison to 4 Other Paintings) St. Luke and the Virgin For My Museum Essay, I have chosen Rogier van der Weyden's "St. Luke drawing the Virgin" (c. 1435–40). First of all, this painting is an extraordinarily beautiful piece of art, with both meticulous details and true to life emotional state of the figures portrayed. And it intrigued me even more when I found out that there is a very compositionally similar painting by Jan Van Eyck ("Madonna with Chancellor Rolin"). 1. "St. Luke drawing the Virgin" (c.1435–40) by Rogier van der Weyden. First thing that I noticed about this gorgeous oil and tempera on panel painting was the precise emotional aspect: romantic and simple, yet so exceptionally lifelike. This work surely shows a development from the powerfully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, it is tempera on panel, which possibly could explain many imperfections. But what really catches your attention in Gentile's painting is an absolute lack of air, along with irrational usage of space. It seems like the artist was stacking human figures in the painting, so that everybody's face would be shown. There we can see a greater deal of International Gothic style (straight lines, look– alike faces, awkward/illogical body positions, etc.) Still the most significant difference between Rogier's work and Gentile's work is the usage of space, presence of atmosphere. While going up the hill, in "Adoration of the Magi", all the details stay the same as if there was no air. It's impossible to ignore artist's very primitive light/shadow usage: not only it's extremely difficult imagine where the light source is, but you can't even find a single rational shadow. Rogier van Weyden's "St. Luke drawing the Virgin" surely excelled the painting of Gentile da Fabriano in many aspects. An excellent example of using a unified light source (which creates real shadows and gives the otherwise flat figures three dimensions) and one point perspective is the painting "The Tribute Money" (c. 1427) by the great Masaccio (Tommaso di Ser Giovanni di Simone.) The work was done in fresco (a technique of mural painting executed upon freshly laid lime plaster), which is quite typical for Italian Renaissance artists. There are a couple of similarities is ... • 11. Cambodia: A Place of Countless Struggles Alongside many countries in Asia, Cambodia is a place of countless struggles. Poverty, lack of education, abuse, and sexual trafficking consume most of Cambodia, and the government continues to let these issues flourish. One of the most prominent problems Cambodia battles with is the sex industry, with prostitution and trafficking rates skyrocketing. According to recent human trafficking statistics, an immense amount of victims are sexually trafficked and exploited in Cambodia each year, but 80% of victims are young women and girls (Bertone). While sex trafficking affects nearly every country, Asia is severely tainted by human slavery. In Cambodia, the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children is on the rise due to the increasing sexual objectification of young girls and boys. In order to understand why Cambodia is filled with so many struggles, one must examine the countries' past catastrophes. What first triggered all the poverty and crime was the Cambodian genocide under Pol Pot. This period of genocide spanned from 1975–1979, and it is estimated that the Khmer Rouge killed 1.7 million people. They specifically targeted Buddhists, ethnic groups and those who were educated in society (Chigas and Mosyakov). The genocide was short lived but it had long–lasting effects, leaving Cambodia in a frenzy of poverty and disease. In 2014, Cambodia can still feel aftershocks of this terrible occurrence, and it contributes to the rising sexual trafficking and exploitation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Universalism Vs Particularism In this case, I would explain to Issa the relationship we have with Jesus. It is a loving, caring, committed relationship. It requires nurturing and time. Once we realize how much Jesus loves us, we will value time spent with Him. We will yearn to be near Him and want our relationship to grow. Universalism vs. Particularism Issa comes from a particularistic culture which is very different from my culture. I do not like to barter when shopping. When in countries where that is the norm, I'd rather not shop at all. I just want to know the price, and pay it. According to the website Access Gambia, "The cost of things can vary greatly and the final price you pay may well depend on your bargaining and haggling skills" (2009–2016). There was a time that Issa bought back some goods after a trip to Gambia. As I asked her the price for a particular necklace, I got the impression that depending on the person, the price varied. On the surface, it may seem difficult to explain the gospel to someone from a particularistic culture, but it is not. Jesus expresses universalism in His love for us. In the movie, Antwone goes through Erikson's Psychosocial stages and solves many of the problems he had when growing up. Erik Erikson's stages of Psychosocial Development is a theory that says every individual goes through eight stages throughout their life as they get older. He states that every person has a crisis in each stage and the outcome of each stage shapes how one is and how one will be for the rest of their lives. The first stage is trust versus mistrust which occurs from birth to 1.5 years–old. If an infant successfully develops trust, he or she feels safe and secure. On the other hand, a child who fails to develop trust will feel afraid and that the world is unpredictable all their life. It is clear that Antwone gained mistrust because he was born in a prison and probably was not properly cared for. His father was never around him because he died before he was born. This intervention occurred so humanity's relationship could be restored to the way it was originally intended to be. Sin entered the world through the disobedience of the first humans beings created. The relationship between God and humanity was marred and could only be restored through the atonement of Jesus Christ. A surface look of Jesus' life would produce an overview such as this. Presenting the comparison between His divine nature and the Holy Spirit should not be a focused issue rather it should promote insight to the interworking of Jesus' ministry. The power of the Spirit in Jesus should be an example of how believers should interact with the Spirit. As Jesus told His disciples of the helper He would send to them (Jn 15:26), believers today have the privilege to be empowered by the Holy Spirit as well. The disciples witnessed the miracles which Jesus performed and from this example they were able to have powerful ministries as well. Perspective was important during the Italian Renaissance because it made artworks look more real and three–dimensional. Perspective was a technique in which an artist would use lines to establish a foreground, middleground, and a background. In centuries past, many of the artists' works would look flat because they didn't use perspective. In the Pietá Mary looks farther away from the audience than Jesus' body does. At the same time, Jesus' head takes a spot in the middleground of the artwork. He is able to depict a Jesus' foot to look like it is on top of or mixing with the dress that Mary is wearing. In his sculpture, Michaelangelo uses perspective to give a more realistic feeling to the artwork. One of the most prominent developments in Michaelangelo's sculpture is his use of realism and expression. In his sculpture, realism is shown through the creases of Mary's dress and veil and the ways that the body's of the two subjects were molded. They were more 3–D and didn't look flat; they showed more dimension than sculptures in the past had. At the same time, Michaelangelo also used expression in both of the subjects. There is always a surface view of the world and then there are many underlining concepts at the core of that surface view. For example, take the movie The 40 Year–Old Virgin. On the surface, this is a movie about a 40 year–old man named Andy, who has never been sexually intimate with a woman before and lives a mundane life alone. Andy has been working with the same people for over three years, but it obvious the way his co–workers treat him that he does not have close relationships with any of them. Application of Industrial–Organizational Psychology Big Five Model of personality Companies are always looking for a way to hire the most loyal and dependable employees. Specifically, the Big Five Model of Personality has indicated that where a person's level of traits falls on the scale of conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, emotional stability, and open to experience determines the level of positive work performance behaviors that an employee will show. • 56. What Is A Geek Comedy? Belton discusses the contrast between the words and actions, specifically the manner in which men will speak of highly sexualized topics but be very innocent themselves. This again goes towards capturing the attention of female counterparts. Belton also states that a large factor of geek comedy is that it entails highly sexualized beginnings which turn into love interests and lasting relationships. It is movies like "Knocked Up", "Easy A", "Juno" and "40 Year Old Virgin" that prove this theme to be apparent within this subgenre. Ben and Allison initially start out as a one night stand and by the end of the film have found a greater connection and relationship. • 60. Swot Analysis Of Virgin Mobile Virgin Mobile, is an American phone service provider that has struggled to become a top service provider since it has entered the market. Although there are many areas that can be fixed to help Virgin Mobile further succeed, the company does have many strengths within it. A major strength includes, the partnership with MTV and Nickelodeon. With this partnership, Virgin Mobile is able to guarantee its customers exclusive rights to MTV branded accessories and phones. Furthermore, guarantee branded content such as ring tones, text alerts, voice mail and graphics. An additional strength is Virgin Mobile's partnership with Sprint and their shared network space as well as Virgin Mobile producing cheaper headsets than the rest of their competitors. The distribution market through major well–known channels that include; Best Buy, Target and Circuit City is also a major strength. Having their products available in these stores makes it easily accessible and available to a large market. Virgin Mobile's exclusive plan called Virgin Extras is yet another strength because their service allows their customers to have exclusive deals within the company. Virgin Mobile's lack of success in Singapore and the lost sales that raised their churning rate is an evident weakness. The small budget available for production and distribution is a strong weakness, as they cannot compete against larger competitions budgets. Print advertising is seen as one of the most traditional ways of attracting new customers. You can purchase adverts in newspapers and magazine's on a local or national scale, and also have the ability to target readers of specific publications related to your industry. Another method is communicating through direct mail, once information of both customers and potential customers have been collected in the database, companies have the chance to send them direct mail. Instructor People of the Southwest (ANT 306) Northern Arizona University In the first five days after the Jesuit Missionaries came to the Yaqui country, they had converted five thousand Yaqui natives. The Yaqui's have taken this convergence and now have what is considered to be a complex syncretism of their native and Catholic beliefs. One does not have a superiority over the other, there is no confusing one over the other and yet they are the same. Itom Aye (Our mother) is the Virgin Mary, Itom Achai (Our Father) is Jesus Christ. Yet, the animistic religion the natives had formerly practiced was never fully replaced–it was adapted into Catholic teachings, and this new belief system was allowed to flourish. (http://www.gotquestions.org/syncretism–religious.html) By allowing this we see the formation of two religions, which allow the Yaqui to still practice their now Catholic faith and yet keep the traditional heritage and culture alive. This is best said in the following: Religious syncretism at its best is not old truths in new guise or just old or new truths confused; rather, through a creative dialectic, new religious insights have been born. Herbert Richardson phrases the need for such creative interpenetration very nicely: "Christianity has been a Western religion too long. While there is strength in the West, there is also a great lack. Christianity...must be strengthened and renewed by prophets from the East. • 66. Adam And Eve Reflection Paper Presentation In the beginning of the existence of Earth, God created the heavens and the earth, according to Genesis 1:1. After creating most of creation, on the sixth day God created a significant being: Adam. God made Adam and Eve, the first humans, in His image (Genesis 1:27). Upon creating them, He tasked them with governing the land (Genesis 1:28). However, they failed to rule under the authority of God. They disobeyed God by listening to the enemy: "So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate" (Genesis 3:6). God brought judgment and, out of grace, promised that He will bring enmity between the enemy and humanity via a woman's offspring: "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel" (Genesis 3:15). However, from the time of Adam and Eve, humanity has constantly failed to rule properly by not following God's perfect rationale. Scot McKnight wrote, "Still, God gave Adam and Eve's descendants the opportunity to right the ship, but they cascaded into a nightmare of usurpations that all but ruined their opportunity to govern on God's behalf." When Abraham came into the picture, God chose him to make a nation to rule the Earth, as God desired Adam and Eve. Namely, it was to be a nation to govern under God's government. Abraham's nation eventually became Israel. The nation of Israel repeatedly failed to rule under God's statutes. For instance, after God had delivered Israel from Egypt, Israel fell into idolatry. Additionally, when the nation of Israel arrived in the Promised Land, the land that God had promised Abraham that his lineage was going to rule, it failed to follow God's guidance. Fortunately, however, God was able to use Abraham's lineage to bring Jesus Christ to humanity. Kings who attempted, at times they did a remarkable job at being king because they submitted to God, preceded Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the nation of Israel was the keepers of the Old Testament. • 68. Holy Spirit Jesus Ministry The life and ministry of Jesus is usually defined as the moment where God intervened in human history for a special purpose. Jesus' mission on earth was to redeem humanity but there are many aspects of His ministry that can be understood at a deeper level. The events which transpired in His ministry could not be attributed to the man Jesus but to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A traditional Christology would attribute it to His divine nature while Spirit–Christology would claim that it was from the Spirit who empowered Him. Scripture recorded that Jesus claimed many different times that He performed miracles through the Spirit of God including texts such as Mt. 12:28. Observing the ministry of Jesus from the Spirit–Christological perspective does not transform the paradigm of Jesus' ministry, rather it shifts the source of Jesus' power. Jesus ministry consisted of redeeming humanity from sin, performing miracles full of the Spirit and making available the power of the Spirit. His mission did not stop at establishing the Kingdom on earth, the great commission provides guidance to believers with what He wants for the Kingdom.
