There is evidence of excellence in the creative use of many of the technical skills.
Footage:
Is appropriate for target audience, fitting genre conventions of drama/thriller well.
Controlled use of camera throughout. Excellent use of mise-en-scene.
Editing:
Edited well to build tension. Good variety of shots used throughout.
Sound:
Good use of diegetic and non-diegetic sound. Although better balance between
soundtrack and dialogue was needed.
Overall:
An excellent thriller piece. Excellent use of actors and props.
Evaluation – Comments and mark out of 13/20
Question 1: Answered using blogger in an essay style response. Candidate offers good
analysis and reflection on her choices for her opening. However there is little evidence of
how she conforms or challenges the genre/real media products. This would have benefited
from images and examples.
Question 2: Answered using prezi. Candidate explains well who the target audience is and
how they are represented in his film opening. Good analysis on the way she has used her
actors. Could benefit from being spell checked.
Question 3: Answered using word and slideshare. Candidate explains well that Momentum
Pictures would be best to distribute her film using some good examples.
Question 4: Answered using powtoon. A detailed look at the stereotypical audience
members using avatars. Good inclusion of their likes, dislikes and hobbies.
Question 5: Answered using power-point and slideshare. Good analysis of how props,
actions and music have attracted the TA. Candidate then used class feedback and a short
questionnaire to gage audience feedback. Questionnaires could have been analysed in
more detail.
Question 6: Answered using word and slideshare. Good detail on all the technologies used
throughout the process, however more could be included such as powtoon, youtube, google
and email.
Question 7: Answered using prezi. Candidate provides a reflective piece explaining what
she has learnt throughout her journey. Would have benefited from being spell checked.
Overall a proficient evaluation, most answers offer good attention to detail, however
some could have more.
