Glulam Beams

2. Glue laminated timber commonly known as
Glulam, is a structural manufactured timber
product.

3. It is manufactured by gluing smaller pieces of timber
together or laminating to produce larger and longer
pieces of timber.

4. The individual timber laminates are usually joined
together using finger joints to form a continuous lengths
of laminate to form the final product.

5. Glulam can have many benefits for use in
structural construct applications.
• Manufactured in long lengths and large sectional sizes.
• Manufactured from stress graded seasoned timber.
• High degree of stability due to using smaller pieces of timber glued
together.
• Increased strength due to the laminating process.
• Resistant to chemicals.
• Is manufacture to meet Australian Standards.

6. Glulam may be manufactured as curved or straight
pieces of timber which can be used as structural
or architectural applications.
