This document proposes building a file server to allow employees off-site access to company files. Currently, the company relies on local and paper systems, but employees and engineers need remote access to files for client demos and student labs. A file server would provide accessibility to any company file without emailing or using flash drives. Key stakeholders in the new system include management, employees, vendors, customer, and students. The proposal will analyze current problems and solutions, benefits and limitations through a scope definition, risk analysis, and system development life cycle approach.

2. Overview
 How can employees get off-site access to company files?
 For the past nine years our company has relied on local and paper
information systems.
 Our company strives to provide the best and most up to date
information to our clients.
 This proposal will attempt to bring to light the current problems and
possible solutions, as well as analyze benefits and limitations.
 This will be accomplished using a combination of scope defining, risk
analysis, K-T analysis, and the SDLC.

3. The Opportunity
 Because of the mobile and constantly changing environment that
we work in. Our staff and engineers need to have off site access to
company files in order to demo for clients or for student labs.
 Having accessibility to pull up any company file without having to
email or bring it along on a flash drive would be very beneficial for
the organization

4. Audience Analysis
 The primary audience for this proposal is the company
management and employees.
 Changes will have to be made in the work cycle to accommodate
the new system.
 A significant break in period will be needed to allow users to adjust
to the new changes.
 Further maintenance will be needed to maintain the system.

5. Possible Key Stakeholders
 Key stake holders include the CEO of the company as well business
partners.
 Vendors will be interested in the changes made which could lead to
new business opportunities.
 The employee trainers will find the new system to be a great
improvement over the old file system.
 Customers and students will find the always accessible information
impressive and add to the credibility of the company.
