5. Expectations
Transformation is a Process that need to take it time depending on the organization and
what is happening within and the strategic goals in mind. The leadership of the hospital has
big plans to increase the effectiveness of the business and cut down the cost, Removing the
need for investing a large amount of cash in digital infrastructure just to have it depreciate.
So we began our plan with the end in mind. To be agile in fulfilling the requirements of the
organization and the ever-changing environment to satisfy the business challenges. Top on
our list was to have the capacity to scale up with minimum need to invest in resources
(hardware or human).
6. Our process of selecting a service provider
The hospital have a set of requirement to be filled. That will be covered with different type of clouds and cloud providers.
From the leadership strategic goals we have worked on the list of capplaty needed and the capacity identified. the core
business system (ERP, HIS) needed to be replaced, the communication and cooperation system needed to be replaced as
well. So the requirement where gathered and discussed with the stockholder of every Module in the various systems. Then
the internal capillary where assisted and gap analysis was produced, from that a solution as an overall was built. After that a
number of top name vanders where invited to adopt this business solution to a technical solution. With a number of round
of fine-tuning and discussion and site services and sizing a technical alteration, a plan was agreed on. At that point we have
open to floor on RFQ. the best in price and portfolio won the project. This was done with all the other solution needed for
the organization. When chosen the Cloud types. The first thing we will look at is the local regulation as a hospital we are
required to keep all the Patient related information within the border of the KSA. picking the Private/locale hosted cloud
for the HIS and ERP systems is the logical choice. When choosing who are we picking to host this cloud we have going
with the provider that can deliver to us the service up to the application lear. For some of the service we plan to extend to
the public cloud for legastac reasons keeping the boundary of the restricted data type that can be on a public cloud. On the
other hand for the communication and cooperation system we don't that restriction so we have going with a public cloud
subscription modul so our Email, Project management and IT support system are all in a Public cloud.
7. Challenges faced
The LAN network in the ficalty and the demand for the high availability of the internet
needed for the adoption of the cloud services. Local and international laws and regulation
and security, the availability of the sulaotion we have picked. The welaines of the parents to
adopt new financing modules. Integration of the different systems and services providers
(IAM as example). Linking the Identity and Access Management from the Active directory
to the G-Suite to the Business application we have on the pramis and the cloud. Some of the
content provides needed for the work of the hospital information system did not adopt the
new Cloud deployment like the drug information KB so we have to come up with work
around for situation like that.
8. Some of the benefits realized
Once we are ready to deploy due to the public cloud infrastructure it is relatively Easy to
Go-live in a record time, have the user onboard, and have the E-training needed to keep the
business users educated on the use of the systems/services. With the Partners accepting the
new module of payment the Cash flow of the hospital have received benefits allowing us to
deal with IT services like utilities services.
9. How we dealt with organizational expectations
Cloud transformation is relatively new in the Regine and having high expectation for the
delivered benefits is somewhat huge, and as it is a process to tune the business and the
workplace to take advantage of what the cloud deployed as services. Management this
expectation needed to be in check. The close work with the Leaders in the organization have
set the timeline of the digital transformation some kind of a rathem that all stockholder are
in tune with. Regular meeting/presentations to and with the stockholder and the Leadership
was the sufficient to keep everyone in loop and expectations in check.
11. Lessons
Learned When
Adopting Cloud
in the Local
Market
● Involve all the stakeholder in the
planning will put you on the right path.
● Picking the right type of cloud for the
right job will reduce your effort.
● Choosing the right partner with ease
your mind.
● Sometimes you need to be the change
agent that will influence solution
providers to come up with a new
product.
11:00 Lessons Learned When Adopting Cloud in the Local Market- Case Study Presentation
Synopsis: This session will highlight the key factors to consider when planning a cloud transformation and shed light on how to go about the process of selecting a service provider. The session will further examine the key challenges faced by organizations during transformation, and identify the benefits realized from cloud adoption. The session will conclude with a discussion on how to balance organizational expectations and aspirations going forward.
