2. Instructional Objectives After viewing this presentation, viewers will be able to determine whether on image is Decorative, Organizational, or Relational based on the Multimedia Principle. After viewing this presentation, viewers will be able to identify the two Contiguity Principles

3. Multimedia Principle Decorative Graphics Used for aesthetic appeal or humor. Decorative Graphics do not enhance the learning

4. Multimedia Principle Organizational Graphics Visuals that show qualitative relationships. Organizational Graphics show how pieces of information are related such as diagrams or concept trees.

5. Multimedia Principle Relational Graphics Used for summarizing relationships. Usually created using graphs and charts.

6. Contiguity Principle Principle #1 Place printed words near corresponding graphics. This can be done with pop-up messages if the text is too big to fit on the screen.

7. Contiguity Principle Principle #2 Synchronize spoken words with corresponding graphics. Do not have separate links for audio and video. Audio Video
