1. Process Journal – Drill through Angled Stand<br />Emotion: I was very focused in today’s lesson, and I felt very happy working on my project. I understand what I needed to do with the door connection, and how we are going to set the angled stands on the box, and so I got many things done.<br />I tighten the angled stand in the bench vice to file off the sharp edges using flat file.I used metal bench vice to hold on to the hinge, and hack saw to cut the hinge.What I did/ used/ why: In today’s lesson I used flat file, bench, metal bench vice, bench vice, hacksaw, cordless drill, 12mm drill bit (with thick head), pencil, and tri-square. In the beginning of the lesson, I finished off with filing the edges of the box, and made the edges round. That way the sharp edges won’t hurt people’s hands when they are holding my project. After I finished with filing the edges I took out my computer, tri-square, and pencil. I put the angled stand on the box, and then I put by computer on top of the angled stand. I moved the angled stand with the Mac book forward and backward to find the safest point to set the angled stand, and the Mac book won’t fall off. After I found the point I used pencil to mark it out. I then used tri-square to measure of 10mm on the top of the angled stand, and I drew a straight line along the 10mm mark. On that marking line I drew two X for the place that I am going to drill a hole through. I did the same thing to the other angled stand. After this I worked on the door connection of the box. I put the hinge against the doorway, and I used pencil to mark length that I needed. I tighten the connection hinge in the metal bench vice, and then I used hacksaw to cut the hinge out. I then bring up a cordless drill, and 12mm drill (with thick head). I put the 12mm drill in the head of the cordless drill. I drill a hole on each on the X, in total I drilled 4 holes, but the 12mm drill (with thick head) is too short to be drill all the way through. <br />Next: In the next lesson I will need to use cordless drill with longer drill to drill through the holes on the angled stands.<br />IB Learner Profile: I think I am a knowledgeable person today, because I remembered how the cordless drill was used from last time when I was making the decoration with the sidepieces of the box. I used the knowledge I got from last time, and used it for today’ lesson for drilling 4 holes on the two angled stands.<br />
