What is SOLOM ? 
SoLoMo, short for social-local- 
mobile, refers to a 
more mobile-centric version 
of the addition of local 
entries to search engine 
results. 
SoLoMo emerged as a 
result of the growing 
popularity of smartphones, 
and provides greater local 
precision to search engine 
results than what's available 
via a PC.

With friends , events, 
and activities

MOBILE Ubiquitous, available 
And anywhere presense
SoLoMo (social, local and mobile) is the convergence of collaborative, 
location-based and on-the-go technologies. The term is primarily used in 
marketing. 
SoLoMo applications allows advertisers to push 
notifications to potential customers who are 
geographically near by. Examples of SoLoMo apps 
include Foursquare, AroundMe and Yelp. Many of these 
services incorporate some aspects of gamification to 
encourage member retention.
It arose as a result of the popularity of 
smartphones and tablets that integrate geo-location 
technology. The GPS technology 
integrated into these devices provides more 
accurate geo results than the "IP mapping" 
approach necessary for home or office PCs.
SoLoMo’s effect on 
E-COMMERCE 
Mobile customers in ecommerce will have 
a higher rate compared to web online 
shoppers 
SoLoMo will be perfect for those people 
who are always on-the-go; Consumers 
will buy immediately unlike on website 
where they have time to comtemplate. 
Online business owners will be able to 
accommodate customer’s need smoothly 
because customers will tend to be more 
outspoken in social media sites.

Increase in advertisements and 
promotions 
This will be an advantage to businesses 
because this will give them lower 
advertising costs. 
Businesses now have the capability to 
choose and target their market depending 
on where they are geographically located.

spent on their mobile devices. 
In fact, 56% use their smartphones to check social 
networks daily
SoLoMo 
Smartphone use will become more localized. 
Shoppers who seek local information are likely to 
contact, visit or purchase from a nearby business. 
This infographic provides industry research on 
social, mobile and local trends that impact how 
retailers connect with shoppers during the 
multichannel shopping process. 
Since SoLoMo is primarily used for marketing, 
I predict that by 2016 more business will be 
Extensively active online. 
People cannot leave their homes without their 
Phones which is why I predict this to still be a 
Trend.

  • 2. What is SOLOM ? SoLoMo, short for social-local- mobile, refers to a more mobile-centric version of the addition of local entries to search engine results. SoLoMo emerged as a result of the growing popularity of smartphones, and provides greater local precision to search engine results than what's available via a PC.

  • 4. SoLoMo (social, local and mobile) is the convergence of collaborative, location-based and on-the-go technologies. The term is primarily used in marketing. SoLoMo applications allows advertisers to push notifications to potential customers who are geographically near by. Examples of SoLoMo apps include Foursquare, AroundMe and Yelp. Many of these services incorporate some aspects of gamification to encourage member retention.
  • 5. It arose as a result of the popularity of smartphones and tablets that integrate geo-location technology. The GPS technology integrated into these devices provides more accurate geo results than the "IP mapping" approach necessary for home or office PCs.

SoLoMo’s effect on E-COMMERCE Mobile customers in ecommerce will have a higher rate compared to web online shoppers SoLoMo will be perfect for those people who are always on-the-go; Consumers will buy immediately unlike on website where they have time to comtemplate. Online business owners will be able to accommodate customer’s need smoothly because customers will tend to be more outspoken in social media sites.
  • 7. SoLoMo’s effect on E-COMMERCE Increase in advertisements and promotions This will be an advantage to businesses because this will give them lower advertising costs. Businesses now have the capability to choose and target their market depending on where they are geographically located.
  • 8. SOLOMO 2012 In 2012, Consumers are increasing the amount of time spent on their mobile devices. In fact, 56% use their smartphones to check social networks daily
  • 9. SoLoMo Smartphone use will become more localized. Shoppers who seek local information are likely to contact, visit or purchase from a nearby business. This infographic provides industry research on social, mobile and local trends that impact how retailers connect with shoppers during the multichannel shopping process. Since SoLoMo is primarily used for marketing, I predict that by 2016 more business will be Extensively active online. People cannot leave their homes without their Phones which is why I predict this to still be a Trend.
