Availability Heuristic Advantages And Disadvantages
1.Availability Heuristic
Concept
Availability heuristic can be defined as making a choice based on immediate and easy examples that comes to the mind more easily when evaluating a
decision. Even though availability heuristic has many pros such as saving time when making a choice, it does come with cons. This is because the
availability heuristic distorts our understanding of real threats and risks. For example, Tom is a 10–year–old boy that adores puppies and loves playing
with them. One day he saw a puppy bite its owner. Due to this small incident, Tom avoids playing with puppies even though the likelihood of it
happening is slim. Since this heuristic draws from immediate and easy examples, it uses system 1 to evaluate our decisions. As we already know
system 1 can lead to a lot of incorrect assessments in comparison to system 2.
Example
A recent news article came out with the title "Four arrested after armed home invasion in Vaughn". Where the article talks about how four individuals
entered a home armed.

Explanation
My parents rarely read the news due to lack of time, but they knew about this incident because it was close to our home and all my relatives were
talking about it. After the article came out, a few days later my parents replaced all locks in our house with more secure ones and installed security
cameras, even though the chance of it happening to our house was

Q1. NAME AND DESCRIBE THREE AUTHENTICATION METHODS.
Authentication is defined by Essentials Guide as is the process of determining whether someone or something is, in fact, who or what it is declared to
be.
Authentication means verifying the identity of someone (a user, device, or an entity) who wants to access data, resources, or applications. Validating
that identity establishes a trust relationship for further interactions.
Authentication is the first step in access control, and there are three common methods used for authentication:
What you have method: – Examples of this method includes keys, badges, ID, pass cards/smart card, tokens. These are physical objects and go
towards identifying you by what you physically "own". A smart ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Intrusion detection systems monitor the most vulnerable points or "hotspots" in a network to detect and deter unauthorized intruders. These systems
often also monitor events as they happen to look for security attacks in progress. Sometimes they can be programmed to shut down a particularly
sensitive part of a network if it receives unauthorized traffic.
Antivirus software is a computer program that detects, prevents, and takes action to disarm or remove malicious software programs, such as viruses
and worms. These tools are critical for users to have installed and updated because a computer without anti–virus software installed will be infected
within minutes of connecting to the internet. Antivirus software is designed to check computer systems and drives for the presence of computer
viruses and worms and often eliminates the malicious software, whereas antispyware software combats intrusive and harmful spyware programs. Often
the software can eliminate the virus from the infected area. To be effective, antivirus software must be continually updated.
Q3. EXPLAIN HOW ENCRYPTION PROTECTS INFORMATION.

unreadable to anyone except those possessing special knowledge, usually referred to as a key. Encryption, the coding and scrambling of messages, is a
widely used technology for

Cloud Computing Research Paper
Introduction Cloud computing is the answer for "affordable" business technology platforms. It is a more affordable solution for media content than any
other medium, and this is why Netflix, Amazon.com, and Apple are among the leaders in cloud usage and development. Ultimately cloud computing
will be the primary way data services are accessed by businesses and consumers alike. Marston, Li, Bandyopadhyay, Zhang, and Ghalsasi 2009 conclude
cloud computing offers companies the opportunity to deploy cutting edge IT services without the enormous upfront costs that deter so many
organizations from making the investment in infrastructure. Now that affordable solutions are becoming more readily available it is likely that more

Food And Water Availability In Pakistan
Food and Water Availability in Pakistan
The country of Pakistan is currently facing a multitude of issues that affects the majority of their population such as food and water shortages that are
difficult to resolve.
There are many different causes for the country's food and water shortages. However, the likely cause of this issue can be attributed to the country's
extreme dependence on groundwater. Pakistan's rural population which consists of more than half of the country's population, obtains most of their
water from the Indus River (Pappas 2011). Water is extremely important to the country as their main source of food production comes from
irrigation. The process is needed to produce 90% of their wheat and other crops which requires a high usage of water. The country's reliance on
groundwater is unsustainable as there is 2500 million cubic metres of water left and is projected to be depleted in 170 years (Kirby M et al. 2016).
In addition, the water that they obtain from the river is irrigation water and as such, the water is unfit for drinking. Nonetheless, at least 65% of the
water the country uses for irrigation is provided by the river (Pappas 2011).
Historically, in 1947, the country of Pakistan was formed when it left British India which immediately started a conflict between the two countries. The
Indus River is the longest river around that area which starts from the Himalayas and flows through the entirety of Pakistan. The river has been
aggravating the conflict

What is Availability Management?
Well availability management is one of the IT service management (ITSM) component particularly in the ITIL service delivery area. In more detail
availability management is responsible for making sure that the application systems are up and 'available' for use according to the agreement of the
Service Level Agreement (SLA).
What does it consist of?
Availability Management consists of certain activities and these activities include:

This involves a quick cleaning that helps the turnover rate in this area. Bigger cleaning companies can offer better prices because they have the

Global Credit Availability Essay
Global Credit Availability:
In today's world of personal finance and economics, with the global perspective being the primary focus. Corporations, just like individuals, are
looking at expanding their horizons and saving or making as much profit as they can. How do they accomplish this gigantic and often expensive
proposition? The answer to this is through credit. However I poise a question to everyone. Is the ease of which to receive credit today a hindrance and
detriment to all of us, or is it the answer we have all been looking for? I will show you both sides of this situation and you are the judge.

"The full benefits of comprehensive credit reporting have yet to be realized in most other countries, because the amount of personal credit history
available to lenders for assessing risk varies widely around the globe. Historically, credit reporting in most countries began with the sharing of so called
"negative" information (delinquencies, bankruptcies, etc.) on borrowers. Only gradually and recently has information about the successful handling of
accounts (prior and current) been contributed to the data repository (1)."
Translated this means that other countries mostly report only negative activity which restricts the availability of credit to its population, resulting in
slower or non growth economies.
So what are the benefits of issuing credit? After a quarter century of experience within a comprehensive reporting environment the United States has
produced an impressive list of benefits. In the report, Lesson's from the U.S. experience; "Detailed information about a borrower's past payment

Heuristic Thinking Is The Refined Mental Process People...
Heuristic thinking is the refined mental process people use when faced with an alternative. Such decisions are typically made quickly and
unconsciously. Quickly making a decision without thinking through every detail can be advantageous but it can lead to biases and inconsistencies.
There are four common biases caused by heuristics; relative comparisons, availability, representativeness, and affective. The first bias, relative
comparison, is when people criticize based off of correlation or affiliation. Strictly speaking, a person will form their conclusion around comparing
their condition to the similar conditions of others. Relative correlation is constructed of a system of anchors and framing. Anchoring is when a
person takes easily accessible information and reasonably bases their decision within the parameters of that information. People will tend to base
their answers depending on how the question was constructed. For example, if someone was asked whether the US population was above or below
a hundred million, they would more than likely give a smaller population size then if they were asked if the population of the US was above or
below seven hundred million. Framing is when a person bases their decision on either the loss or gain to be held from a possible outcome of a
decision. As such, person is typically more concerned about repercussions rather than the actually benefits of a decision. Second is availability heuristic,
which is basing a decision off of

Unix And Unix Operating System
6.4 C–DOT DSS MAX is administrated by UNIX operating system
BSNL C–DOT DSS MAX uses UNIX operating system to operate the exchange.
The UNIX operating system is a set of programs that act as a link between the computer and the user. The computer programs that allocate the system
resources and coordinate all the details of the computer 's internals is called the operating system or kernel.
Users communicate with the kernel through a program known as the shell. The shell is a command line interpreter it translates commands entered by
the user and converts them into a language that is understood by the kernel.
UNIX was originally developed in 1969 by a group of AT&T employees at Bell Labs, including Ken Thompson, Dennis Ritchie, Douglas McIlroy, and
Joe Ossanna.
There are various UNIX variants available in the market. Solaris UNIX, AIX, HP UNIX and BSD are few examples.
Several people can use a UNIX computer at the same time; hence UNIX is called a multiuser system. A user can also run multiple programs at the
same time; hence UNIX is called multitasking. This is why BSNL uses UNIX operating system as the exchanges can be operated through a remote area.
UNIX operating system provides various commands to operate embedded systems in C–DOT DSS MAX.
The commands used in C–DOT DSS MAX UNIX operating system are broadly divided into two categories–

Data Integrity And Availability Techniques
Abstract For many computing systems, database technologies are an essential component. They permit data to be reserved and shared electronically
and the quantity of data retained in these systems continually develops at an exponential rate. As organizations upsurge their dependence on, possibly
distributed, systems of information for daily business, they develop the vulnerability to security breaches even as they get efficiency and productivity
advantages. However, numerous techniques like encryption and electronic signatures, are presently available for data protection whenever transmitted
across the sites, an actually comprehensive tactic to protect data must also contain mechanisms to enforce access control policies centered on data
contents, characteristics and subject qualifications, and other relevant appropriate information, like time. It is currently well recognized that the
semantics of data has to be taken into consideration so as to stipulate effective policies of access control. Moreover, data integrity and availability
techniques must be adopted that specially tailored to database systems. In this regard, for many years, the community for database security has
developed various different techniques and approaches which assure data privacy, integrity, and availability. However, in spite of such advancements,
the database security zone faces numerous inventive challenges. The security concern evolution, the "disintermediation" of data access, novel computing

5.1 Arrangements for availability and accessibility: Scheduling care in opening hours: Our practice had longer opening hours from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.
Full–time GP was available during this opening hour and part time GP at a different session in a day. Our opening hours were suitable for working and
non–working individual for consultation. Our consultation time was also flexible in terms of duration of a session, and there was no additional
charge for an extended period of consultation. Patients could come on the same day after telephonic discussion with administrative staff or doctor.
Our clinical staff was given regular training and update to identify patients with urgent need and clinical care. There was four nursing staff that was
well trained to recognize serious medical problems. They worked in a shift; liaise with GP's and administrative staff. They were trained to provide
primary care in the absence of GP's and able to identify the seriousness of the condition. They had easy access to the communication device to call
doctors and nursing staff. The length of consultation: There was no restriction on a duration of consultation and no charge was imposed for an
additional extended period of consultation. However, due to the high volume of patients, a reasonable time was given to appropriate case so that
waiting time for others wasn't prolonged. Patients for follow up usually required less time as compared to patients who came for preventive or surgical
advice.

Review Of ' Vampire Bats '
1.Vampire bats give blood to unrelated vampire bats for several reasons. Among the reasons are the cost sharing of blood, the benefit of sharing blood
and the probability that the bats that were given blood will in turn reciprocate and give blood to other bats at a later date. The cooperative equilibria in
blood sharing among bats means that the sharing of blood will occur if the benefits of sharing blood multiplied by the probability that blood sharing
will be beneficial in the future is greater than the cost of sharing blood. If a bat shares blood with another bat (even an unrelated bat), the bat that is
the recipient is expected to donate blood to other bats at a larger rate than it received at a later time.
A donor bat will give blood to a bat that has not had a meal so that this bat can have the opportunity to hunt again, giving an increased chance that it
will reciprocate to another bat that has not had a meal, enabling the roost to maintain survival. In the event that a recipient bat does not reciprocate in
the future, that bat will not be donated to if it needs it in the future, thus allowing for recipient bats to be donor bats in the future as needed.

How Does Lovallo And Kahneman 's Inside View?
Question 1) How does Lovallo and Kahneman's "inside view" ("Delusions of Success") differ from the "outside view"? Contrast the entrepreneur and
venture capitalist. How can a firm or organization maximize the extent to which its managers take the "outside view" in their decisions? Individuals
and organizations are often influenced by the "inside view" when making decisions. Excessive optimism leads decision makers to budget, plan for, and
forecast outcomes of important projects based on their specific views of the unique project at hand. They often feel that they are most aware of all the
special considerations that go along with their project; they understand its objective, the resources they brought into it, the obstacles to its completion,
along with constructing in their minds scenarios of their progress and extrapolating current trends into the future. Interestingly, each individual has both
the perspective of the inside view as well as the "outside view." The outside view, also known as reference–class forecasting, is the more generalized
view that we can take, when we consider the forecasts and respective outcomes for analogous situations with a similar class of decision making
criteria or objectives. It is more natural for individuals to adopt the inside view when making decisions. However, taking the outside view is the
beneficial approach, as it often results in more accurate and reliable forecasts. The entrepreneur and venture capitalist are on two sides of the

Taking Energy Availability For Granted
Chapter 5 Taking Energy Availability for Granted
My happy little off–grid RV is all hooked up to our truck and I'm off for another adventure in independence. I designed and built this RV to be able
to meet my needs without connecting to the grid and it means I have to be mindful of the resources I have on board, like water and cooking gas and
power stored in the battery. I have to have an understanding of how much power I need to run my devices, including basics that we take for granted like
refrigeration, and how much my solar panels will collect.
A few days later, it's any average work day morning and like any other morning, my 7 AM alarm goes off reminding me, it's time to go to work.
Rolling over I stretch and push my feet flat against the wall of my RV. My curtains are closed so it's still darkish inside. Lying in bed for a few
more minutes, my brain starts ruminating on the activities of the day ahead of me. I'm always attentive to how much water and gas I have on
hand and I know there's enough of both. I make sure I have enough of both before I go to bed so that I don't have to deal with acquiring those
resources before I even wash up and prepare myself to face the day. Swinging my feet around, I dig my toes into the fuzzy, warm rug. Standing up, I
give one last stretch. I put the water on to boil for washing up and making tea. While the water is warming, I use the cold water for tooth brushing.
Teeth cleaned and washed up, I'm dressed and ready to face the day.

Representative Heuristics
There are four different rules of heuristics in social psychology – representative heuristics, availability heuristics, anchoring and adjustment heuristics,
and finally status quo heuristics. Often people employ heuristics to come to conclusions about a topic rather quickly than sitting and taking their time
to go through the standard notions of problem– solving to finally make a decision. A heuristic is a judgement that may conclude in a probable answer,
but may not always be the exact answer overall, or could be the wrong answer altogether. They do not take into account the base– rate of an event. A
base– rate can be defined as the actual calculated number of events that happen in the total population being referenced. A representative heuristic...

Open Availability In Nursing Home
We live in a day and age where most Canadians do not concern themselves with the odds of them being placed in a long–term care facility due to the
presence of our health care system, however, a greater number of individuals should be more cogitative about the possibility of needing to be put in a
home and that not being an immediate option. According to the Ontario Long Term Care Association (2015) over 40% of the long
–term care homes in
Ontario are small, with 96 or fewer beds. With the aging of the baby boomers within the next couple of years, 96 beds are simply not enough. The

There are two simple solutions to this problem: open more long–term care facilities and have them subsidized or offer optimal home care services. No
person should be without care, especially when they need it the most, just as no person should be forced to stay at home in unsafe circumstances or be
stuck in a hospital due to there being no rooms available at a nearby long–term care centre. There are few individuals who choose not to go into a
long–term care facility, however there are also many people who don't have the option to enter a home due to absence of facilities. As a result of lack
of long–term care amenities, waitlists have skyrocketed. With respect to the long–term care facility called Riverview Gardens, located in Chatham,
Ontario, 9 out of 10 people wait 437 days for basic accommodations (Community Care Access Centre, 2016). The worst part is that most of the
people who are on the waitlist are elderly, meaning that it could be dangerous if they are forced to stay home while they wait for a placement. The

of water. In the next 3 paragraphs I will talk about why this is a problem that needs to be solved and how this truly affects the people in Africa.... Show

Reliability And Availability Evaluation Of A System Switched
RELIABILITY AND AVAILABILITY EVALUATION OF A SYSTEM SWITCHED TO ANOTHER SIMILAR, SUBSTITUTE OR DUPLICATE
SYSTEM ON TOTAL FAILURE
ABSTRACT
A two–unit standby system is considered with two types of repair facilities. One facility repairs one unit at a time and other facility repairs both the
units simultaneously. When both the units fail, if unit can be repair in short time then repair will be continued, otherwise in order to improve
availability another substitute system taken from outside is used, which is guaranteed for failure free operation. Assuming failure and repair times as
exponentially distributed, Expressions for the mean time to system failure (MTSF), the steady state availability and busy period for system are derived
using linear first order differential equations. A particular case for the proposed system is discussed in which substitute system was not considered.
Also comparison is performed graphically to observe the effect of the proposed system on Availability.
Keywords: Availability, Linear first orderdifferential equation, Mean Time to System Failure, Reliability, Steady State Availability.
1) INTRODUCTION
Competition exists in every field, to keep ahead a major challenge is availability improvement of a system, as less availability has negative impact.
People often use "availability" and "reliability" interchangeably. In fact, however, the two terms are related but have distinct meanings. Reliability (as

Cyanocobalamin Vs Mecbl
Healthcare providers may know that Cyanocobalamin (Cobal 1000) is widely used as the only form of treatment for Vitamin B12, but what about its
counterpart Methylcobalamin? Is ther a difference in which form you take of B12? As the field of medicine continues to expand, so does the
development of drugs. Cobal 1000 and MeCbl are both chemically engineered in a laboratory. Each made with similar compounded substances only to
be used differently. Does one have a greater effect than the other? To say the least, Cyanocobalamin is gear towards detoxifying substances; whereas
Methylcobalamin has been proven to optimize the body's liver, brain, and nervous system. Due to the nature of Methylcobalamin, the drug targets
nervous system and improves the functions that were lacking such as: loss of feeling sensation, tingling, and numbness.... Show more content on

This particular vitamin is an essential part for development and survival (Coelho, et al., 2008). Cyanocobalamin protects the nervous system and
builds up the defenses from intruders. Once the defenses are broken, vitamin B12 lacks the support that it needs and exposes the host to potential
dangers such as: macroytic anaemia, hypoesthesia, ataxia, or nonspecific gastrointestinal symptoms (Thakkar & Billa, 2015). Cyanocobalamin also
know as Cobal 1000 is a chemically synthesized drug produced in laboratories with cyanide. The human body has no use for cyanide and will want
to get rid of the molecule. Why would any manufacture produce products that could potentially kill a person with a high dose? Well, it works well
with detoxifying the body. It is not lethal in small doses but anything larger than the recommended dosing can potentially kill someone. Unlike Cobal
1000, MeCbl still provides the same results or even better

Priming Effects : The Florida Effect, The Lady Macbeth '
ANSWER Q 1
1. Florida Effect, the Lady Macbeth effect, the money effect, the holding pencil in mouth effect are a few of many examples of Priming effects,
explain how priming works using these as examples. Lastly, contrast that to the association of ideas and how does it relate to holding a pencil in your
mouth or how pictures of flowers and eyes placed over a coffee and tea station effect our behaviors? More importantly this presents what flaw in which
system?
Feeling that the spirit of the human being contaminated leads to the desire to cleanse the body of this phenomenon, according Kahneman, this
phenomenon called (Lady Macbeth).
Kahneman refers to the "Florida effect" that it involves two stages of priming. First, the set of words primes thoughts of old age, though the word old is
never mentioned; second, these thoughts prime a behavior, walking slowly, which is associated with old age". For example, the Florida effect As
evoked by Kahneman in his book, reports for an astonishing experiment made on a group of young students. After reading some words and
phrases related to old age, they will tend to behave like elderly people. we have been introduced to the stranger in ourselves. And they also affect
the rest of our mindset, a priming is one of the most common concepts in Kahneman's book because it can take many forms. A simple example is to

Availability of Visual Media
Visual Media Introduction The pervasive availability of visual media from a multitude of sources including Google Images, Flickr and a myriad of
other content–rich websites online present many opportunities for individuals and companies to gain excellent content quickly for personal and
professional use. In conjunction with this trend is the continual evolution of the many Google search technologies that make it possible to find highly
valuable and exclusive content online. Marketing organizations are also ramping up the use of published research that is protected by copyright to
promote their brands and products as well, often licensing these reports and analyses from 3rd party research firms. This wealth of digital content is
protected by a rich variety of copyrights, attributions and specific Fair Use laws as well. The intent of this paper is to evaluate the benefits and
challenges associated with having so many visuals available today. The possible ethics and legal implications are also discussed. It is imperative that
individuals and corporations stay cognizant of the latest laws on how to avert copyright infringement and the high costs of paying for works used
without authorization or worse, being sued for using content in an unauthorized way. Benefits and Challenges Associated With Digital Content There
has always been the challenge of protecting the copyright of digital content, yet the proliferation of social media websites and platforms, the ease

What Representativeness Heuristic Is Inappropriately...
I remember and incident that the representativeness heuristic was inappropriately applied in judging me. I was playing pickup basketball while
visiting family away from my home state of Kentucky at the time, and I was wearing a University of Kentucky tee–shirt. As I walked up a team was
forming and one of the players looked at me and said, "I'll take the guy from Kentucky", presumably basing his decision on the popularity of the sport
in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. As play progressed, my lack of excellence in the game demonstrated clearly that fandom and stardom work quite
independently of one another.
I have made inappropriate judgments based on availability heuristic many times over the years. I can recall one case in particular from my childhood
during the early days of AIDS coming into public view. Around the age of 10, I remember watching a particularly disturbing news report on AIDS,
and although the details of the report are lost to me now, at the time they were fighting. I had a very limited understanding of the disease and how it
was contracted, and coincidentally I woke up the next morning not feeling well, convinced that I somehow had been infected with the dreaded disease.
Given the discussion on adolescence in our text, the standards for adult activities do somewhat coincide with what we know about human development
(Cacioppo & Fregberg, 2013 ). Limiting access to many activities based on age is advisable considering the cognitive development of adolescents

PHI 101C
HW6 10/18/2012
Qiansongzi Chen 1. How might the constructive nature of your perceptions play a role in what you experience while you're walking at night through a
graveyard said to be visited by spirits of the dead?
Constructive perception is in part something that our minds manufacture. Thus what we perceive is determined, not only by what our eyes and ears
and other senses detect, but also by what we know, what we expect, what we believe, and what our physiological state is. Just because something
seems or feels real doesn't mean that it is real.
2. What are some of the factors that could influence the accuracy of your memory of an event that happened three years ago?
Our memories are also constructive and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It's reasonable to accept personal experience as reliable evidence only if there's no reason to doubt its reliability.
Personal experience alone generally cannot establish the effectiveness of a treatment beyond a reasonable doubt.
6. What is confirmation bias? How does it affect our thinking?
Not only do we have a tendency to ignore and misinterpret evidence that conflicts with our own views; we also have tendency to look for and
recognize only evidence that confirms them. We tend to look for confirming rather than disconfirming evidence, even though the latter can often be far
more revealing.
7. What is the availability error? How does it affect our thinking?
The availability error occurs when people base their judgments on evidence that's vivid or memorable instead of reliable or trustworthy.
8. How do confirmation bias and the availability error lead to superstitious beliefs?
The availability error not only leads us to ignore the relevant evidence, it also leads us to ignore relevant hypotheses. For any set of data, it is, in
principle, possible to construct any number of different hypotheses to account for the data. In practice, however, it is often difficult to come up with
many different hypotheses. As a result, we often end up choosing among only those hypotheses that come to mind, that are available. In the case of
unusual phenomena, the only

Reliability Factors : Food Truck Logistics
Reliability Factors: Food Truck Logistics Reliability Factors in a logistics system are key to the overall health and success of the process. Many
aspects of Logistics are equally as critical in terms of importance however, when it comes to reliability it is hard to argue this factor consumes
much emotion from those working in as well as benefiting from a system. While reliability factors play a role in many aspects of life, when
dealing with logistics it is often an unseen issue until it actually surfaces as a problem. Food trucks in recent years spread with mass popularity,
convinces being a driving factor. Despite the surface appearance of a simple logistical process, reliability factors play a huge role in the logistics of
operating a food truck. Measuring reliability factors in the food truck industry requires first understanding the system of measure when analyzing
reliability. To paraphrase Blanchard as he discusses in Logistics Engineering & Management, reliability is defined with a common sense approach.
The probability a system or product will perform satisfactory for a given time when used under specified operating conditions (Blanchard, p. 48). The
measure of logistic within a food truck operation requires careful analysis. Determining what the logistics process is, whether that be the end product
of food for the customer or the truck in itself is tricky. Measuring the reliability for a food truck operation is best understood by taking a step back and

3.Generation Reliability analysis
Generation system reliability deals with the relative ability of the system to supply system load considering that generation units may be out of service
when needed due to planned or unplanned outages or that the basic energy sources may be inadequate.
Generation system reliability, also known as generation system adequacy, is to be contrasted with security which deals with the relative ability of the
system to survive sudden shocks or upset such as faults or equipment failures without cascading failures or loss of stability.
Mathematically, reliability is the probability that a device would perform its required function for a specified period of time under the stated operational
conditions. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The generation capacity is the sum of the power that can be produces by all generator units that are available to produce electrical energy. These units
do not have to be operational but they should have the potential to be operational.[9]
Generator units may be unavailable due to failures, this is called forced unavailability",or due to preventive maintenance, this is called planned
unavailability". Both types of unavailability may be treated stochastically, but the planned unavailability is often treated deterministically.
The uncertainty in the generation capacity is then only due to failures (outages) of generator units [9]. Generating units will occasionally fail to operate
and the system operator has to make sure that enough reserve is available to be operated when this situation happens, as will be discussed in the
following subsection.
352.3Generation Reserves
Improvements in system reliability can be achieved by using better components or incorporating redundancy. Generation redundancy is attained by
providing generating capacity above that needed for maximum load demand and transfers. This spare capacity represents the reserve of generation
necessary to keep the risk of power shortages below an acceptable level.
The determination of the required amount of generation

Judgment Under Uncertainty: The Validity Of
Introduction
In the psychology field, availability heuristic is a mental shortcut that relies on immediate examples that come to mind. The replicated study was
conducted by Tversky and Kahneman in 1973 "Judgment under Uncertainty: Heuristic and Biased", the study was biased in judgments to reveal some
heuristic of thinking under certainty. This study was significant because it helps us understand the brain more. In order to investigate availability the
experiment presented four lists to the participants. Two of the lists had 19 famous male and 20 non–famous female names. They were asked to recall
as many names as possible in a matter of time. The results came in with a realization that people can easily recall famous names, it is harder ... Show

On the Race of Participants graph it shows which race was able to identify the famous and non–famous names faster. The graph Male and Female
Participants, shows if females or males had more knowledge of the names. On the original study, this was significant to see if races or genders changes
the results of the participants. The Repeated Measurement, was a strength in the study because it was a success. The study was an opportunistic
self–selection, also a strength. The Limitations of the study was that some participants were talking during the experiment, Non–participants in the
experiment area, Classroom music playing in the background, Misnumbering of participants, Wrong powerpoint was used, and classroom setup in both
trials. For better results and improvement in this study the researcher recommends that the Non–participants are removed out of the room, no music in
the background, recount the number of participants at least twice, and set up the classroom in a way that will be good for the participants in the study.
The study was a success, the students were able to identify the number of famous names faster than non–famous names. Although, there were some
limitations that could affect the results, the study was still a

Eating Sausage And Beliefs
Type of metal shortcut in where people are more likely to believe in something that is more common and frequently talked about. The availability
heuristic often relies on information that one already knows, which comes up in their mind first. This leads people to make fast judgements,
answers, and decisions that are not always correct. If you hear a story on the news about how eating sausage can lead to anal cancer, most people
will not believe it because it has never happened to them or anyone they know. On the other hand, if a relative, friend, or someone you know ate a
sausage and got anal cancer, you will most likely believe it is true because you've seen and heard of it yourself. (Page 70). 1973 research: subjects were

Examples Of Confirmation Bias
CASE STUDY: AVOID THINKING TRAPS KIMBERLY BLACKBURN WESTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY What has become known as
Confirmation bias is the tendency people have to embrace information that supports their beliefs and reject information that contradicts them
(Kolbert, 2017). The crash of Comair Flight 5191 in Lexington Kentucky in 2006 due to pilot error is a good example of confirmation bias. It is
believed the flight crew convinced themselves they were on the right runway due runway lights that they were told were unserviceable in a previous
flight. On the flight's voice recorder, the pilots never appeared confused (Ortiz, Patton, & Ku, 2007). It was a classic example of confirmation bias,
the act of only seeing evidence supporting their preconceptions, investigators said (Ortiz, Patton, & Ku, 2007). Confirmation bias is our feeling to
choose the information that confirms what we belief or the ideas we have on a subject. Sometimes this can lead us to misjudge or make wrong
decisions. The pilots of flight 5191 out of Lexington airport let their belief of the situation make them make the wrong decision and not confirm they
were on the right runway. Pilots Clay and Polehinke ignored the warning signs of the unlit runway, too short runway and their distracted conversation
during the pre–flight time. To avoid confirmation bias one has to be aware of its existence. Mindfulness and emotional intelligence can both be of help
in avoiding confirmation bias

My Experience At A Children 's Camp
The past few days of observation are based upon my final week as a coordinator for a children's camp. Including my interactions with people as our
programs are winding down and the unexpected realities of what was going on outside of the camp. In this week I experienced; upward social
comparison, availability heuristic, mortality salience and social cognition.
Upward social comparison– I participated in a panel discussing the benefits of advanced placement classes. In my discussion of my personal
experiences, I talked about comparing myself to my more intelligent classmates. In high school I felt like I was not as mart as my classmates. I
discussed how it made me work harder, I wanted to be at what I perceived was a higher level. The example in the book mentioned studies of people
using upward social comparison to motivate themselves to success (pg. 86). As mentioned by the text upwards social comparison can be a positive
tool for motivation. The textbook also spoke about the dangers of comparing yourself with others if a person does not believe they can reach what
they are aspiring to be. I recognize what the danger in upward social comparison could be, it would be hard to process failure if you lived your entire
life comparing yourself to others. I do not know if I thought I could reach what I was comparing myself to, but I believe I benefited from the push.
Eventually, I no longer relied the comparison.
Availability Heuristic– In my closing duties, I evaluated

A review On Dynamo: Amazon's Highly Available Key

SUMMARY:
An e–commerce website must have requirements such as performance, reliability, efficiency and high scalability for an efficient functioning. Out of
these requirements, reliability is the most challenging requirement to be satisfied as a small outage can lead to a large financial consequences and
affect the customer trust. This paper gives insight into the design and implementation of dynamo, a key value store that throws light on availability and
reliability. The availability is achieved by sacrificing consistency of data under certain failure scenarios. Amazon handles millions of customers trying
to access various data centers around world. Hence, reliability and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dynamo is therefore described as a store that meets the needs of these classes of services with a simple key/value interface, in this paper. Each
service using dynamo runs its own dynamo instances. There are a lot of system requirements and assumptions made in this paper. The query model is
assumed to have simple read and write operations to data nodes that are identified uniquely by a key. This assumption is made based on the fact that
most of the amazon applications does not require a relational schema and can work with simple queries.
Most database ensure that they follow the ACID (Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, Durability) properties to ensure the transactions are reliable. The
studies show that stores that guarantee ACID property generally have poor availability. As a result, Dynamo focusses on application that have weaker
consistency. Each service in the Amazon platform has a stringent latency requirement and it is important that these requirements are met. Hence, it is
important that each service must be able to configure dynamo in such a way that they meet their latency requirements. Every application in Amazon
has a number of dependencies. To ensure the application provides its complete functionality, the dependencies of the application must be executed
within a smaller and stringent time. To ensure this, the client engages in a contract with services called as theService Level Agreement (SLA). SLA can

The Availability Of Legal Aid
Justice is at the heart of a democratic society. It means laws should apply equally to all, and that everyone should have the right to a fair trial. It is
part of our rights as human beings and we ought to be able to bring our dispute before an independent judge for them to be settled. This essay seeks to
look at the availability of legal aid in the 21st century and if it is still "open to all, like the ritz hotel" like suggested by Sir James Mathew.
"What does "access to justice" mean, if not a fully FUNDED legal aid system? Is it a noble aspiration that should lift our hearts, or is it a load of
meaningless tosh peddled by politicians and lawyers to suit their own self–serving ends?" . Before we can begin to look at Legal aid and its excerpts,
we must explore Access to Justice and what it means in relation to the subject matter. Access to justice means knowing and being able to enforce
your rights and duties, having access to courts and tribunals. Access to justice is not the same principle with legal aid, rather access to justice is the
principle of being "treated fairly according to the law and if you are not treated fairly being able to get appropriate redress". "That doesn 't just mean
access to lawyers and courts. It means access to ombudsmen, advice agencies and the police law. It means public authorities behaving properly. It
means everyone having some basic understanding of their rights. It means making law less complex and more intelligible" .
Why should we

Availability Heuristic Advantages And Disadvantages

  • 1. Availability Heuristic Advantages And Disadvantages 1.Availability Heuristic Concept Availability heuristic can be defined as making a choice based on immediate and easy examples that comes to the mind more easily when evaluating a decision. Even though availability heuristic has many pros such as saving time when making a choice, it does come with cons. This is because the availability heuristic distorts our understanding of real threats and risks. For example, Tom is a 10–year–old boy that adores puppies and loves playing with them. One day he saw a puppy bite its owner. Due to this small incident, Tom avoids playing with puppies even though the likelihood of it happening is slim. Since this heuristic draws from immediate and easy examples, it uses system 1 to evaluate our decisions. As we already know system 1 can lead to a lot of incorrect assessments in comparison to system 2. Example A recent news article came out with the title "Four arrested after armed home invasion in Vaughn". Where the article talks about how four individuals entered a home armed. Link: http://www.cp24.com/news/four–arrested–after–armed–home–invasion–in–vaughan–1.3345993 Explanation My parents rarely read the news due to lack of time, but they knew about this incident because it was close to our home and all my relatives were talking about it. After the article came out, a few days later my parents replaced all locks in our house with more secure ones and installed security cameras, even though the chance of it happening to our house was ... • 2. Security and Information Protection Q1. NAME AND DESCRIBE THREE AUTHENTICATION METHODS. Authentication is defined by Essentials Guide as is the process of determining whether someone or something is, in fact, who or what it is declared to be. Authentication means verifying the identity of someone (a user, device, or an entity) who wants to access data, resources, or applications. Validating that identity establishes a trust relationship for further interactions. Authentication is the first step in access control, and there are three common methods used for authentication: What you have method: – Examples of this method includes keys, badges, ID, pass cards/smart card, tokens. These are physical objects and go towards identifying you by what you physically "own". A smart ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Intrusion detection systems monitor the most vulnerable points or "hotspots" in a network to detect and deter unauthorized intruders. These systems often also monitor events as they happen to look for security attacks in progress. Sometimes they can be programmed to shut down a particularly sensitive part of a network if it receives unauthorized traffic. Antivirus software is a computer program that detects, prevents, and takes action to disarm or remove malicious software programs, such as viruses and worms. These tools are critical for users to have installed and updated because a computer without anti–virus software installed will be infected within minutes of connecting to the internet. Antivirus software is designed to check computer systems and drives for the presence of computer viruses and worms and often eliminates the malicious software, whereas antispyware software combats intrusive and harmful spyware programs. Often the software can eliminate the virus from the infected area. To be effective, antivirus software must be continually updated. Q3. EXPLAIN HOW ENCRYPTION PROTECTS INFORMATION. From Wikipedia: Encryption is the process of transforming information (referred to as plaintext) using an algorithm (called a cipher) to make it unreadable to anyone except those possessing special knowledge, usually referred to as a key. • 4. Cloud Computing Research Paper Introduction Cloud computing is the answer for "affordable" business technology platforms. It is a more affordable solution for media content than any other medium, and this is why Netflix, Amazon.com, and Apple are among the leaders in cloud usage and development. Ultimately cloud computing will be the primary way data services are accessed by businesses and consumers alike. Marston, Li, Bandyopadhyay, Zhang, and Ghalsasi 2009 conclude cloud computing offers companies the opportunity to deploy cutting edge IT services without the enormous upfront costs that deter so many organizations from making the investment in infrastructure. Now that affordable solutions are becoming more readily available it is likely that more small and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With its economy of scale and high performance assets, it has the potential for meeting increased organizational computing and data management needs., and surges in demand, while minimizing costs. The challenge is to determine what factors drive a company's decision makers to choose or not to choose to employ cloud computing to meet organizational needs. The advantages of cloud computing include cost savings, meeting computing needs, reliability, and centralized security functions. This will lead to overall lower costs, improved information handling, and greater convenience for end users. All of these advantages make cloud computing worth considering. • 5. Food And Water Availability In Pakistan Food and Water Availability in Pakistan The country of Pakistan is currently facing a multitude of issues that affects the majority of their population such as food and water shortages that are difficult to resolve. There are many different causes for the country's food and water shortages. However, the likely cause of this issue can be attributed to the country's extreme dependence on groundwater. Pakistan's rural population which consists of more than half of the country's population, obtains most of their water from the Indus River (Pappas 2011). Water is extremely important to the country as their main source of food production comes from irrigation. The process is needed to produce 90% of their wheat and other crops which requires a high usage of water. The country's reliance on groundwater is unsustainable as there is 2500 million cubic metres of water left and is projected to be depleted in 170 years (Kirby M et al. 2016). In addition, the water that they obtain from the river is irrigation water and as such, the water is unfit for drinking. Nonetheless, at least 65% of the water the country uses for irrigation is provided by the river (Pappas 2011). Historically, in 1947, the country of Pakistan was formed when it left British India which immediately started a conflict between the two countries. The Indus River is the longest river around that area which starts from the Himalayas and flows through the entirety of Pakistan. The river has been aggravating the conflict ... The answer to this is through credit. However I poise a question to everyone. Is the ease of which to receive credit today a hindrance and detriment to all of us, or is it the answer we have all been looking for? Only gradually and recently has information about the successful handling of accounts (prior and current) been contributed to the data repository (1)." • 12. Heuristic Thinking Is The Refined Mental Process People... Heuristic thinking is the refined mental process people use when faced with an alternative. Such decisions are typically made quickly and unconsciously. Quickly making a decision without thinking through every detail can be advantageous but it can lead to biases and inconsistencies. There are four common biases caused by heuristics; relative comparisons, availability, representativeness, and affective. The first bias, relative comparison, is when people criticize based off of correlation or affiliation. Strictly speaking, a person will form their conclusion around comparing their condition to the similar conditions of others. Relative correlation is constructed of a system of anchors and framing. Anchoring is when a person takes easily accessible information and reasonably bases their decision within the parameters of that information. People will tend to base their answers depending on how the question was constructed. For example, if someone was asked whether the US population was above or below a hundred million, they would more than likely give a smaller population size then if they were asked if the population of the US was above or below seven hundred million. Framing is when a person bases their decision on either the loss or gain to be held from a possible outcome of a decision. As such, person is typically more concerned about repercussions rather than the actually benefits of a decision. Second is availability heuristic, which is basing a decision off of ... The UNIX operating system is a set of programs that act as a link between the computer and the user. The computer programs that allocate the system resources and coordinate all the details of the computer 's internals is called the operating system or kernel. Users communicate with the kernel through a program known as the shell. The shell is a command line interpreter it translates commands entered by the user and converts them into a language that is understood by the kernel. UNIX was originally developed in 1969 by a group of AT&T employees at Bell Labs, including Ken Thompson, Dennis Ritchie, Douglas McIlroy, and Joe Ossanna. There are various UNIX variants available in the market. Solaris UNIX, AIX, HP UNIX and BSD are few examples. Several people can use a UNIX computer at the same time; hence UNIX is called a multiuser system. A user can also run multiple programs at the same time; hence UNIX is called multitasking. This is why BSNL uses UNIX operating system as the exchanges can be operated through a remote area. UNIX operating system provides various commands to operate embedded systems in C–DOT DSS MAX. • 14. Data Integrity And Availability Techniques Abstract For many computing systems, database technologies are an essential component. They permit data to be reserved and shared electronically and the quantity of data retained in these systems continually develops at an exponential rate. As organizations upsurge their dependence on, possibly distributed, systems of information for daily business, they develop the vulnerability to security breaches even as they get efficiency and productivity advantages. However, numerous techniques like encryption and electronic signatures, are presently available for data protection whenever transmitted across the sites, an actually comprehensive tactic to protect data must also contain mechanisms to enforce access control policies centered on data contents, characteristics and subject qualifications, and other relevant appropriate information, like time. It is currently well recognized that the semantics of data has to be taken into consideration so as to stipulate effective policies of access control. Moreover, data integrity and availability techniques must be adopted that specially tailored to database systems. In this regard, for many years, the community for database security has developed various different techniques and approaches which assure data privacy, integrity, and availability. However, in spite of such advancements, the database security zone faces numerous inventive challenges. The security concern evolution, the "disintermediation" of data access, novel computing ... • 17. Review Of ' Vampire Bats ' 1.Vampire bats give blood to unrelated vampire bats for several reasons. Among the reasons are the cost sharing of blood, the benefit of sharing blood and the probability that the bats that were given blood will in turn reciprocate and give blood to other bats at a later date. The cooperative equilibria in blood sharing among bats means that the sharing of blood will occur if the benefits of sharing blood multiplied by the probability that blood sharing will be beneficial in the future is greater than the cost of sharing blood. If a bat shares blood with another bat (even an unrelated bat), the bat that is the recipient is expected to donate blood to other bats at a larger rate than it received at a later time. A donor bat will give blood to a bat that has not had a meal so that this bat can have the opportunity to hunt again, giving an increased chance that it will reciprocate to another bat that has not had a meal, enabling the roost to maintain survival. In the event that a recipient bat does not reciprocate in the future, that bat will not be donated to if it needs it in the future, thus allowing for recipient bats to be donor bats in the future as needed. 2.In the Berg, Dickhaut and McCabe (1995) study, factors that influence the likelihood of trust in economic transactions is a fundamental assumption that individuals act in their own self–interest which is often combined with other assumptions that (1) objects of interest are restricted to personal consumption; ... Contrast the entrepreneur and venture capitalist. How can a firm or organization maximize the extent to which its managers take the "outside view" in their decisions? Individuals and organizations are often influenced by the "inside view" when making decisions. Excessive optimism leads decision makers to budget, plan for, and forecast outcomes of important projects based on their specific views of the unique project at hand. They often feel that they are most aware of all the special considerations that go along with their project; they understand its objective, the resources they brought into it, the obstacles to its completion, along with constructing in their minds scenarios of their progress and extrapolating current trends into the future. Interestingly, each individual has both the perspective of the inside view as well as the "outside view." The outside view, also known as reference–class forecasting, is the more generalized view that we can take, when we consider the forecasts and respective outcomes for analogous situations with a similar class of decision making criteria or objectives. It is more natural for individuals to adopt the inside view when making decisions. However, taking the outside view is the beneficial approach, as it often results in more accurate and reliable forecasts. The entrepreneur and venture capitalist are on two sides of the ... • 20. Taking Energy Availability For Granted Chapter 5 Taking Energy Availability for Granted My happy little off–grid RV is all hooked up to our truck and I'm off for another adventure in independence. I designed and built this RV to be able to meet my needs without connecting to the grid and it means I have to be mindful of the resources I have on board, like water and cooking gas and power stored in the battery. I have to have an understanding of how much power I need to run my devices, including basics that we take for granted like refrigeration, and how much my solar panels will collect. A few days later, it's any average work day morning and like any other morning, my 7 AM alarm goes off reminding me, it's time to go to work. Rolling over I stretch and push my feet flat against the wall of my RV. My curtains are closed so it's still darkish inside. Lying in bed for a few more minutes, my brain starts ruminating on the activities of the day ahead of me. I'm always attentive to how much water and gas I have on hand and I know there's enough of both. I make sure I have enough of both before I go to bed so that I don't have to deal with acquiring those resources before I even wash up and prepare myself to face the day. Swinging my feet around, I dig my toes into the fuzzy, warm rug. Standing up, I give one last stretch. I put the water on to boil for washing up and making tea. While the water is warming, I use the cold water for tooth brushing. Teeth cleaned and washed up, I'm dressed and ready to face the day. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Representative Heuristics There are four different rules of heuristics in social psychology – representative heuristics, availability heuristics, anchoring and adjustment heuristics, and finally status quo heuristics. Often people employ heuristics to come to conclusions about a topic rather quickly than sitting and taking their time to go through the standard notions of problem– solving to finally make a decision. A heuristic is a judgement that may conclude in a probable answer, but may not always be the exact answer overall, or could be the wrong answer altogether. They do not take into account the base– rate of an event. A base– rate can be defined as the actual calculated number of events that happen in the total population being referenced. Open Availability In Nursing Home We live in a day and age where most Canadians do not concern themselves with the odds of them being placed in a long–term care facility due to the presence of our health care system, however, a greater number of individuals should be more cogitative about the possibility of needing to be put in a home and that not being an immediate option. According to the Ontario Long Term Care Association (2015) over 40% of the long –term care homes in Ontario are small, with 96 or fewer beds. With the aging of the baby boomers within the next couple of years, 96 beds are simply not enough. No person should be without care, especially when they need it the most, just as no person should be forced to stay at home in unsafe circumstances or be stuck in a hospital due to there being no rooms available at a nearby long–term care centre. There are few individuals who choose not to go into a long–term care facility, however there are also many people who don't have the option to enter a home due to absence of facilities. As a result of lack of long–term care amenities, waitlists have skyrocketed. With respect to the long–term care facility called Riverview Gardens, located in Chatham, Ontario, 9 out of 10 people wait 437 days for basic accommodations (Community Care Access Centre, 2016). The worst part is that most of the people who are on the waitlist are elderly, meaning that it could be dangerous if they are forced to stay home while they wait for a placement. One facility repairs one unit at a time and other facility repairs both the units simultaneously. When both the units fail, if unit can be repair in short time then repair will be continued, otherwise in order to improve availability another substitute system taken from outside is used, which is guaranteed for failure free operation. Assuming failure and repair times as exponentially distributed, Expressions for the mean time to system failure (MTSF), the steady state availability and busy period for system are derived using linear first order differential equations. A particular case for the proposed system is discussed in which substitute system was not considered. I was playing pickup basketball while visiting family away from my home state of Kentucky at the time, and I was wearing a University of Kentucky tee–shirt. As I walked up a team was forming and one of the players looked at me and said, "I'll take the guy from Kentucky", presumably basing his decision on the popularity of the sport in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. As play progressed, my lack of excellence in the game demonstrated clearly that fandom and stardom work quite independently of one another. I have made inappropriate judgments based on availability heuristic many times over the years. I can recall one case in particular from my childhood during the early days of AIDS coming into public view. Around the age of 10, I remember watching a particularly disturbing news report on AIDS, and although the details of the report are lost to me now, at the time they were fighting. I had a very limited understanding of the disease and how it was contracted, and coincidentally I woke up the next morning not feeling well, convinced that I somehow had been infected with the dreaded disease. Many aspects of Logistics are equally as critical in terms of importance however, when it comes to reliability it is hard to argue this factor consumes much emotion from those working in as well as benefiting from a system. While reliability factors play a role in many aspects of life, when dealing with logistics it is often an unseen issue until it actually surfaces as a problem. Food trucks in recent years spread with mass popularity, convinces being a driving factor. Despite the surface appearance of a simple logistical process, reliability factors play a huge role in the logistics of operating a food truck. Measuring reliability factors in the food truck industry requires first understanding the system of measure when analyzing reliability. To paraphrase Blanchard as he discusses in Logistics Engineering & Management, reliability is defined with a common sense approach. The probability a system or product will perform satisfactory for a given time when used under specified operating conditions (Blanchard, p. 48). The measure of logistic within a food truck operation requires careful analysis. Generation system reliability, also known as generation system adequacy, is to be contrasted with security which deals with the relative ability of the system to survive sudden shocks or upset such as faults or equipment failures without cascading failures or loss of stability. Mathematically, reliability is the probability that a device would perform its required function for a specified period of time under the stated operational conditions. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The generation capacity is the sum of the power that can be produces by all generator units that are available to produce electrical energy. These units do not have to be operational but they should have the potential to be operational.[9] Generator units may be unavailable due to failures, this is called forced unavailability",or due to preventive maintenance, this is called planned unavailability". Both types of unavailability may be treated stochastically, but the planned unavailability is often treated deterministically. The uncertainty in the generation capacity is then only due to failures (outages) of generator units [9]. Generating units will occasionally fail to operate and the system operator has to make sure that enough reserve is available to be operated when this situation happens, as will be discussed in the following subsection. 352.3Generation Reserves Improvements in system reliability can be achieved by using better components or incorporating redundancy. Generation redundancy is attained by providing generating capacity above that needed for maximum load demand and transfers. This spare capacity represents the reserve of generation necessary to keep the risk of power shortages below an acceptable level. The determination of the required amount of generation

Examples Of Confirmation Bias CASE STUDY: AVOID THINKING TRAPS KIMBERLY BLACKBURN WESTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY What has become known as Confirmation bias is the tendency people have to embrace information that supports their beliefs and reject information that contradicts them (Kolbert, 2017). The crash of Comair Flight 5191 in Lexington Kentucky in 2006 due to pilot error is a good example of confirmation bias. It is believed the flight crew convinced themselves they were on the right runway due runway lights that they were told were unserviceable in a previous flight. On the flight's voice recorder, the pilots never appeared confused (Ortiz, Patton, & Ku, 2007). It was a classic example of confirmation bias, the act of only seeing evidence supporting their preconceptions, investigators said (Ortiz, Patton, & Ku, 2007). Confirmation bias is our feeling to choose the information that confirms what we belief or the ideas we have on a subject. Sometimes this can lead us to misjudge or make wrong decisions. The pilots of flight 5191 out of Lexington airport let their belief of the situation make them make the wrong decision and not confirm they were on the right runway. Pilots Clay and Polehinke ignored the warning signs of the unlit runway, too short runway and their distracted conversation during the pre–flight time. This assumption is made based on the fact that most of the amazon applications does not require a relational schema and can work with simple queries. This essay seeks to look at the availability of legal aid in the 21st century and if it is still "open to all, like the ritz hotel" like suggested by Sir James Mathew.
