Creative And Innovative Side Of Leadership
The creative and innovative side of leadership is important and others must be encouraged to focus
upon the invention and creative concepts. Once, others are encouraged a creative leader must
practice creative leadership skills in their own practices. There are many leaders who can be known
as creative leaders and an interesting point to note is that a creative leader leads from his soul and
has characteristics and qualities that support the creative leadership concept. As an individual leader
will flourish, mature and evolve further, their impact on their organization will also grow
simultaneously. With this new concept of creative leadership we are certainly witnessing a new
generation of leaders, who are not willing to remain stagnant to merely follow the company policy,
rules and regulations but to implement new and creative ideas with the workplace settings. A
creative leader is the one who is able to think out of the box to bring in innovative product, launch a
new product category or provide new services. An innovative leader is certainly willing to move
way ahead of the cultural and structural barriers in the company and address the concerns raised by
all with confidence.
Leadership approach that best describes me as a leader

the skills and abilities of an individual and his charisma to exert influence and enable the others to

How Leadership Styles Can Affect Performance Within Teams
Many challenges are faced within nursing in this century. Evolution in technology is not only in the
diagnostic and operating theatres but also in the clinical ward and outlying areas. Advancements in
computer technology, telemedicine and the effects of the baby boomer generation aging are taking
its toll and nursing leadership is a prerequisite to keep up with the diversities encountered. More
collaboration is essential with allied services requiring nursing teams to perform effectively to match
the challenges faced. Perioperative is one of the front line services and a large consumer of a health
care budget. Managing the Operating Room services is equivalent to overseeing a commercial
enterprise and nurse leaders in this field are required to understand the business acclaim, financial
impact, strategic planning and all else that might evolve (Taylor 2014). This paper is going to review
the impact of leadership in the perioperative arena. Differences in leadership styles will be addressed
and how styles can affect performance within teams. Additionally are nurses prepared for this
evolving pressure driven healthcare system we presently find ourselves in? Elements of gender will
be looked at as nursing is still predominantly female and can this affect abilities to effectively lead
change? Observations will be made to a personal experience in managing a team leader in a Middle
Eastern tertiary hospital to meet the executive directives and budgetary constraints. This will

The Impact Of Socio Political Factors On The Management...
Assignment 1: The Impact of Socio–Political Factors on the Management and Leadership of Early
Childhood Settings
Introduction
The social and political factors greatly impact management and leadership roles in Early Childhood
settings. The impacts caused by these factors can vary from favourable to non–favourable and need
to be taken into consideration to create a positive environment for the management and leadership
positions in early childhood services. This paper aims to discuss the impact that socio–political
factors can have on management and leadership as well as highlighting ad comparing
responsibilities of these roles. Lastly, this will be supported with suitable theory to support the
function of regulation in the daily management and leadership of an early childhood service.
Responsibilities of key management and leadership positions
The Approved Provider
Under the National Law section 162 and National Regulation 173, there must be a responsible
person at a service where children are being educated and cared for (Australian Children's Education
and Care Quality Authority, 2013). The approved provider being one of them is a person or group of
people from the management committee. Daily activities in early childhood settings are controlled
by this position. The approved provider handles all issues affecting children, families and staff. The
provider is also responsible for operational matters, finance and administration of the education and
care service. Staffing

Transformational Leadership Is Developed By Political...
Transformational Leadership Theory was developed by political sociologist James Mac Gregor
Burns. In this theory, he differentiated two styles of leadership: transformational leadership and
transactional leadership. In transformational leadership, it is a process where both the leaders and
the followers elevate motivation and morality. The transformational leaders pay attention to the
needs and motives of followers and help them achieve their fullest potential. They influence their
followers' behaviors by appealing to the ideas and values and enhance the followers' commitment to
their vision.
Literature Review
1) Relationship between transformational leadership and employees' job satisfaction among the
academic staff
The authors of this article performed a study by collecting 214 questionnaires from academic staff to
evaluate the relationship between transformational leadership and employees' job satisfaction. The
study also emphasized the relationship among the variables: idealized influence, individual
consideration, inspirational motivation and intellectual stimulation and job satisfaction. The
outcome of their study indicated that transformational leadership has a positive and strong
relationship with employees job satisfaction with r = 0.725 which means that higher
transformational quality equates to higher employee job satisfaction. It also pointed out that leaders
are ready to transform and improve. Leaders with clear vision, high inspiration, creative and

The Core Essence Of ' Servant Leadership ' From A Biblical...
As a Doctoral candidate and a Singles Adult Ministry leader, I believe it is vitally important to
understand the tasks and challenges, in becoming an effective leader in ministry and our society
today. Therefore, this research paper will attempt to articulate the core essence of 'Servant
Leadership' from a Biblical perspective, which might be able to provide practical, theological, and
hermeneutical insights in order to develop leadership competency and a healthy prosperous ministry,
as oppose to the current secular 'leadership' myths and fascination in our church, culture and society.
Admittedly, over the years I have always admired and strived to adopt a servant leader attitude in all
my endeavors. Equally, the paper will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, author Wade Berry, in an article with reference to Paul's practice of leadership, describes
it as:
'Leadership' is understood here not as dealing with how a particular leader understands and develops
the organizational structure of her or his group, but as how a leader interacts with the members of
the group in order to get individuals within the group as a whole to adopt certain values, goals,
practices, or behaviors.' This is a beautiful reflection of leadership, which provides us with a basic
foundational framework. On that basis, when I reflect on the term "Servant Leader", from a
hermeneutical perspective, it would appear to be a paradox, from my own conceptual understanding
of the language. For instance, when we think of a servant, we often envision someone serving
others. Likewise, we perceive a leader as the one who is influential, powerful and has authority.
Paradoxically, the two words together seem to contradict each other, but also serve as a prophetic
concept to emphasize the core essence of Jesus' and Paul's leadership model. In reality, the term
servant leader is a model that reflects trust, communication, integrity, sacrifice, humiliation,
selflessness and the ethical use of power. The servant leadership model by its own nature has traits
as well as, learned skills, which

purpose of this paper is to connect the relationships between transformational leadership and a
political frame within a specific historical context. A true story within a higher education community
forms the basis of how the two theories connect. The concept of forming strategic alliances will be
examined through the study of frames and transformational leadership from literature. A reflection
looking through my original human resource frame and then a political frame follows to observe
what I learned and how my understanding of the situation is different in hindsight. Alliances and the
end of the story are revisited, followed by a final reflection.

The conference center served the education school community on a nearly free basis for their events

was unusual, situated on the ground floor of the library. Because of this locale, it fell under the
jurisdiction of the library director, who was also faculty and a very influential community member.
Conference center conflict reached an all–time high in late 1992. The conference director stated he

After World War I, Hitler returned to Munich.[72] With no formal education or career prospects t the
time of Hitler 's release from prison, politics in Germany had become less combative and the
economy had improved, limiting Hitler 's opportunities for political agitation. The Great Depression
provided a political opportunity for Hitler. Germans were ambivalent to the parliamentary republic,
which faced strong challenges from right– and left–wing extremists. The moderate political parties
were increasingly unable to stem the tide of extremism, and the German referendum of 1929 helped
to elevate Nazi ideology.[120] The elections of September 1930 resulted in the break–up of a grand
coalition and its replacement with a minority cabinet. Its leader, chancellor Heinrich Brüning of the
Centre Party, governed through emergency decrees from President Paul von Hindenburg.
Governance by decree would become the new norm and paved the way for authoritarian forms of

parliamentary seats in the 1930 election, becoming the second–largest party in parliament.[122]

Analysis Of Donald Trump's Politics As A Vocation
In the days following the United States presidential election, many Americans voiced their disbelief
that Donald Trump, a man longtime considered a political joke and nuisance, won the election. But
despite his brashness, entire lack of eloquence, and discriminatory tendencies, Trump was in fact
elected. Many of Trump's supporters attribute his success to his fundamentally different approach to
politics and leadership. Max Weber's lecture, Politics as a Vocation, provides an explanation of how
Trump's campaign was successful, why he is perceived as refreshing and different by his supporters,
and how these same supporters were able to overlook Trump's flaws. Weber defines in his lecture,
three ideal types of authority; traditional, legal, and charismatic. Traditional authority can be
associated with Hillary Clinton and her institutionalized style of politics, while Trump is aligned
with charismatic authority. Trump's charismatic leadership style contrasts the traditional American
political approach which contributes to the perception of him as working against the status quo
rather than for it. Weber's description of how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be sure, Weber's description of charismatic leadership does not account for all of the forces at
play during the election, but his theory does shed light on why many individuals view Trump's style
of leadership as different and necessary in this current political moment. Weber's discussion of the
charismatic leader as an infallible authority with a perceived legitimate claim of power highlights
why Trump supporters endorsed his rhetoric despite its many logical, political, and ethical flaws.
Yet, according to Weber, Trump's current style of leadership and authority cannot last in the long–
term. This may be a comforting or concerning notion, but nonetheless, sheds light on what may

Economics, Political, And Union Leadership
Economics, political viewpoint, and union leadership were the primary reason the union won the
war. Although, Abraham Lincoln, committed to the preservation of the union, his leadership was not
the primary reason the north won. The union economy had an advantage to winning the war over the
south. The northern states had more money; which allowed them to increase their assets, such as,
their industries, technologies, as well as transportation. The North acquired their money by raising
loans and issuing bonds, as well as encouraging citizens and bankers to invest. Two– thirds of the
money was from loans and bonds and one– fifth by taxes. More importantly the Internal Revenue

Despite those loses the Union army was able to redeem themselves in the battle of Fort Henry and

important battles favoring the Union winning the war. Although, President Lincoln was focused on
winning the war, he was able to pick good generals to lead the armies; however he was not mainly
focused on the political aspects of the war. Lincoln came into office as President with little
administrative experience. Whereas Davis, Confederate president, had military and administrative
experience could use both to his advantage. Lincoln, having an analytical mind, was able to master
the military strategy for the war. This made him more involved in the military aspect of the war and
not the political or economic matters which was left to Congress. After his inauguration as President
of the United States on March 4, 1861, Abraham Lincoln warned the South that secession was
illegal under the Constitution and would declare war against the rebelling states if deemed

Community Collaboration Analysis
Community collaboration embraces the idea that by working together we can solve our problem.
Collaboration leadership embraces the idea for working for social change, and social change
addresses each person's sense of responsibility. Participatory democracy is to get citizens involves in
our political process to accomplish a goal or set of goals.
Collaboration in communities can bring a change when shareholders, profit and non profits
organization work together collectively and share resources to address the pressing need of the
communities.
Chrislip and Larson's (2011) principles of collaborative leadership described the leadership style of
the interviewees in the most comprehensive way. Chrislip and Larson (1994) state that collaboration
requires a different kind of leadership: leaders who "safeguard the process, facilitate interaction, and
patiently deal with high levels of frustration". Chrislip and Larson also point out that the process

Leadership As A Democratic Style Works Best
The overall conclusion we can draw from research on forms of leadership is that a democratic style
works best. Explain and evaluate this claim with reference to social psychological theory and
evidence.
Leadership can be understood as the process of having an individual member of the highest rank
within a group lead its members, or is given the ability to do so. In applied social psychology,
leadership can split and tied into occupational and political settings, nonetheless some educational
applications of leadership in teachers has likewise been proposed (Karnes & D'ilio, 1990). In
addition, leadership has also been subdivided into leadership emergence and its effectiveness (Lord
et al. 1986). For the purpose of this document leadership ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness neuroticism and openness, or the big five factors of
personality model (Costa & McCrae, 1992) in a factor analysis have been found to correlate with
leadership in individuals significantly (Judge et al., 2002), thus allowing more credibility to
leadership trait theory. Consequently, It is accepted that the five factor personality dimensions are
the best predictors for effective leaderships that succeed in positive outcomes for the general public
or company; this can be interpreted in terms of leadership emergence, effectiveness and promotion
(Zaccaro, Kemp & Bader, 2004). Within leaderships across countries worldwide in the political
context, different directors that may share traits of personality or may fall under the great person
theory don't always manage in similar ways, hence different types of leadership such as the
democratic leadership. This document will offer different social psychological research in order to

document will also state evidence to support that a democratic form of leadership may not always

administrative qualities or not have one factor from the five factors of personality model (Hollis,

Political Leadership Challenges Essay
Political leaders face numerous challenges and decisions every day. Depending how situations are
dealt with, leaders can become known as great or fall into obsurity. A political leaders skills are
often secondary and only matter when the situation call on them. Thus, a leader's greatness comes
from these challenges rather than any personal skills or abilities. Policial challenges often require
team work. The geo–political world has become increasingly connected over the last century and
many challenges often require the imput from many leaders. Moreover, much of the work done to
overcome a political challege is accomplished by a team working for the politial leader. Much of the

In times of crisis, it is not about the personal skills of the leader that allow them to correctly deal
with the situation, but their ability to react appropriately through the correct channels. For example,
in the aftermath of a natural disaster, a political leader can only offer solace to those affcted. There
are no scenerios where it could have been prevented. After all, the challenges political leaders face
often have little to no effect on them personally, but rather affect people under their juristiction.
However, personal skills and abilities do affect political leaders' notority and reputation, which can
affect the outcome of certain political challenges. For example, Hitler became known as an
extremely charismatic leader. This allowed him not only to win over the people of Germany but also
display, or in some cases exaduate, his power to the rest of the world. However, his charisma only
explains part of his success. The other part came from correctly dealing with the challenges of the
geo–political atmosphere at the time. His reacted will and used each situation in Europe at the time

William Pitt's Leadership In The French And Indian War
William Pitt's leadership played a vital role in securing a British victory in the French and Indian
War. By 1757, he became a foremost leader in the London government. William was mostly known
as the "Great Commoner." William started out his leadership career by picking young and energetic
leaders to help spark a life in the military. He wanted to have fresh young minds controlling the
military. If any leadership wants to succeed, you have to have a strong military. One of William's
first military expeditions were soft–pedaling assaults on the French west Indies. He also wanted to
concentrate on the vitals of Canada. This lead to instant success. Later in 1758, he dispatched a
powerful expedition against Louisbourg, causing it to fall. The

Roman Political Leadership
Before the fall of Rome, an underlying change took place that transformed the original Republic into
the mighty Roman Empire. Many factors directly and indirectly affected this shift in political
leadership. By 509 B.C., the Romans established its own social and economic influence. They had
overpowered the Etruscan kingdom and came to the realization that law and order was necessary to
curb the ambitions of the powerful, whether they be enemies, or rulers of their own making. The
Roman republic, therefore, developed under a system of government that divided the power among
two consuls, the Senate and the Plebian Assembly. Through internal affairs, economic instability,

The Political Leadership For Ending The Drug War
There hasn't been any real political leadership for ending the drug war from either of the major
political parties. The Republican Party is the most ardent supporter of the drug war, yet it contradicts
some of its main principles. In fact, it's difficult to name another political issue, other than the
legalization of drugs, which would better accomplish the party's goals for reducing government
spending while benefitting the private sector. The Republican Party has somehow successfully
attached itself to the drug war while selling fears of "big government" and "the nanny state."
Republicans tout the virtues of free markets, yet they apparently don't feel those same virtues apply
to a free society. As Gore Vidal once stated, they prefer "laissez faire" economics over "laissez faire"
values. In addition, the Republican Party is generally the most vocal with supporting states' rights in
hopes of reducing wasteful federal government spending, except in the case where states have
legalized medical or recreational marijuana.
Very few within the Democratic Party have displayed the political courage to challenge the drug war
even though most of their political base would support them. In fact, many Democrats have used the
drug war as a political bargaining chip. Some others have even used the drug war to try to "out–
conservative" the conservatives. That was exactly the case with the Clinton administration. Many

The Four Frames
To be considered an effective leader, it is known to utilize multiple frames. The four frames:
Structural Leadership, Human Resource Leadership, Political Leadership, and Symbolic Leadership.
Each of these leadership consist of different characteristics, principles, and standards which are
practiced to gain efficient leaders. Rosabeth Moss Kanter, a business professor at Harvard Business
School has expressed how these four frames are effective by examples during her interview.
Structural Leadership involves the leader possessing characteristics, such as, focusing on
implementation, can be powerful and stable, and emphasizes on shared goals. Kanter, concentrates
on strategy, innovation, and leadership for change (57). In addition, she shared her ideas with other
companies of how to implement change to their culture and structure (58). Through these changes,

If for instance we say that we only need post graduates to lead us, how will those who have acquired
minimum education meant to relate with them. It should be noted that for people to feel well
represented, a leader must have the ability to empathise with their situation and ultimately deliver
them from it. An educated person may not be able to speak a language that a least educated person
can speak. There will also be a clash on interests and therefore creating a big gap. This is the same
with the rich and the poor. Sometimes, some of the ambitions that political leaders have which they
require the participation of the people may be quite ridiculous. A leader cannot for example venture
into an expensive project among the poor people and expect them to fund it. This is because such
people are struggling to put food on their table and may not necessarily have extra funds to find the
project. It will however be reasonable if such a leader encouraged people to pull their resources
together and think of ways of uplifting their living.
The reason why there is unequal development in the country even many years after independence is
because of poor leadership strategies. Most of the leaders that are voted in mainly go in because they

Political Morality And Leadership Lessons
Discussions about political morality and leadership often lead differences of opinion over the means
to attaining them even in the face of numerous consensuses about the nature and scope of the end
itself. This means that most commentators on the issue disagree on many philosophical or
procedural bases but yet agree on some. A classic example of this dualism is represented in the
leadership lessons covered by Cicero, on the one hand, and Machiavelli on the other. Whereas their
lessons are fundamentally divergent in many regards, there are some subtle points of implicit
convergence. The purpose of this essay is to assess with a comparison and contract of the lessons as
found by the assigned writings of Cicero and Machiavelli. Both of these books providers time–
tested theories and assertions that have been used to obtain and sustain power and leadership.
One of the points of convergence in the leadership lessons offered by both philosophers is the
appreciation of the role of fate or accident that occurs when one is thrust into a power position.
Whereas both do not underestimate the role of personal attributes and dedication in attaining these
positions, they strongly hold the position that chance and fate can be a major contributor to one's
ascendance to power. Cicero, for instance, argues that "chance or opportunity thrusts upon the
individual" when it comes to attaining kingdoms, command, high offices, nobility, property and
wealth (Cicero, 1951). He further contends

Sources of Power in Organization
Introduction
Evaluating the Organizations as Political Systems, Morgan (2006) looks at the various sources of
power in organizations, his textbook lists several essential sources of power. This independent
research discussion will examine the management of gender relations, and the power one already
has. Particularly in the Political Systems metaphor, this review will evaluate how the two sources of
power can contribute to functional identity, conflict, self–interest, and integration within an
organization. Furthermore, this study will evaluate the power and functional integration as a source
of resistance or preservation of a functional culture identity. In conclusion, this post will assess
whether the organization could be a functionally integrated system.

traits (Lilienfeld et al., 2010). According to Lilienfeld et al., (2012) there were about 8 listed
limitations with fruitful directions for further research; however, the study and the findings didn't
address the questions between boldness and political performance. In the results, it was raised that
boldness often associated with psychopathy advantages within a host of occupations and social
roles. Clearly it's warranted further investigation of the implications of boldness for leadership is
needed.

POLITICAL BEHAVIOUR LEADERS AND FOLLOWERS NO HARD AND FAST
DISTINCTIONS Separate political behavior, studied in this volume, from governmental
organization, studied in the volume to follow. Generally speaking, however, political behavior
consists of (1) a particular area of political activity and (2) kinds of political actions that are
common to all politics. Political behavior is an area of political activity – the activity that occurs
outside the formal and legal organizations of government. The chapters of this volume discuss a
progression of concerns: first comes the political activity of large and vague groupings like the

* * * THE LEADER: HERO OR PAWN? THE "GREAT MAN" THEORY OF HISTORY Two
famous writers have presented us with opposite theories about the influence of leaders. Thomas
Carlyle wrote most passionately: "Universal History, the history of what man has accomplished in
this world, is at bottom the History of the Great Men who have worked here." Heroes teach us right
and wrong, he said; heroes give us great inventions and discoveries. It is the great few who
transform society; the multitude follows them. Modern democracy, he believed, has produced
millions of fools who vote, other men who go to Parliament and palaver, and, inevitably, the few
who act. TOLSTOI 'S INFINITESIMAL ELEMENTS By contrast, Count Leo Tolstoi asserted that
there is no greater fool than he who thinks he makes history and believes others when they assure
him he does. Not even a leader like Napoleon Bonaparte, according to Tolstoi, has any part in
determining the course of history. Napoleon was the tool of vast social forces beyond his control.
"Studying the laws of history," Tolstoi declared, "we must absolutely change the objects of our
observation, leaving kings, ministers, and generals out of the account, and select for study the
homogenous, infinitesimal elements that regulate the masses." Both Carlyle and

Examples Of Queen Elizabeth's Political Leadership
Queen Elizabeths political and administrative leadership was highly commended, and most
historians throughout history have agreed upon this, now historical fact. Although it was not an easy
going experience for one of England's most excelling sovereigns. Throughout Elizabeth's political
leadership, she encountered problems such as the Spanish Armarda, Rebellion from Ireland and
Scotland and even assassination attempts that were authorised by Pope Pius V. However through all
of this turmoil during her reign, Queen Elizabeth managed to survive with the help of her close
Privy Council and take England through what would come to be known as a "Golden Era of
England's history." By William Camden. The first critical step of Elizabeth's political

Essay about Past Political Controversies
Leaders are constantly making decisions that are based on their values and directly affect their
constituents. Some of those decisions are insignificant, and only affect people in the short term.
Some are bigger and determine the long–term fate of society; and others go even further as to
determine who those leaders are as people and how they will leave society for future generations
(Joseph, 2001). Socrates raised the question, "What is a virtuous man, and what is a virtuous
society?" In observing the leadership that will ultimately decide the future for our society, I believe
we must ponder the same question. If ethics is the basis of politics, as many people believe to be
true, the two should be tied more closely together. Ethical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is questionable whether we, the voters, actually elect "leaders" when we vote for our country's
leaders. Presidential campaigns, for example, can have candidates that are either mediocre or very
bland, or candidates that are extremely fake and superficial. It is uncertain whether we know each
candidate's true personality or beliefs when we place our votes on Election Day. These elected
political figures may be seen as leaders in the eyes of their constituents, but that does not mean that
they are true or good leaders. Many natural leaders are successful in convincing their followers to
engage in negative activities or believe harmful ideas. Bill Clinton, for example, was seen as a
natural–born leader throughout his schooling career, yet his leadership qualities while serving as
President led him to be very corrupt and cause discourse and scandal. Likewise, many political
figures may appear to be leaders to the public eye, but may not be ethical in their leadership,
therefore being detrimental to their constituents instead of beneficial (Anderson, 2000). Alfred
Grazia, a political author, identifies political leaders as, "any occupant of an established political
position or as any person, in or out of such a position, whose political activity has more influence
upon a group's behavior than has the activity of the average member." Since political leaders hold
more influence on the behavior of a group, they hold the power to steer them in

Political Leadership : United Kingdom, China, And Russia...
All around the world, countries are either allied with each other, enemies with each other, or even
just mutual with each other. Each country has their own specific standards, including those who lead
their people to the best glory. Everyone has their own leaders with each having their own style.
Democracy, tyranny, communism, or organizations help keep order in each country. With that, how
the way the country is run may aid in the relationships with another country. Many of the world's
innovating, powerful countries are seen to have major differences with their style of political
leadership ––United States, United Kingdom, China, and Russia. Today, many leaders around the
world are being analyzed on what is more effective with their different style in order to build their
foreign affairs with one another. Beginning with the United States, the people of America went
through many changes with their style of political leadership. At the beginning of the formation of
the nation, the people were under the British crown. Parliament and the British king were in
command until the colonies wanted their own government. The colonists fought for their own
system government where they too had to go through their own changes such as the Articles of the
Confederation to what the United States have today, democracy. Since then, many of the US citizens
have been politically involved as well as undergoing many different presidents. Each presidents has

The Inability of Brutus to Assume Political Leadership of the Conspiracy Against Julius Caesar in
Shakespeare's Play In Julius Caesar, Shakespeare presents a broad range of historical personalities
as complicated human beings in agonizing conflict with one another and with themselves. Literary
authors A.L. Rowse once wrote, "No issue hinders a man's leadership capabilities more than his
confusing perception of honor, noble idealism, and inner self–conflict" (15). In his drama about
power, nobility, assassination, and revenge, Shakespeare examines this particular issue best in his
simple yet complex characterization of Brutus. Guided by conflicting emotions, Brutus, an idealistic

Political Leadership And Its Effects On African Americans
Political Leadership involves leading people in the right manner that will lead to the achievement of
set goals. This requires the political leaders to have special skills that the ordinary citizen doesn't
have so as to lead in a proper way. Additionally, leaders are expected to have the power to fight for
the people's rights to any opposing or discriminating the people. During the colonization time, most
of the people from African countries were colonized by the Western countries that lead to the
movement of these people from Africa to western Countries and America so as to serve as slaves. As
such, the population of Africans in America increased at a very high rate which impacted on the
Africa American people to be exposed to slavery, suffering, and prejudice. Henceforth, the calling of
leaders to represent the Africa–American emerged. Most of the time, these leaders were subjected to
a lot of mistreatments as well as cruelty, in order to destroy the hopes of advocating for the rights of
the black people.
It was at this time that W.E.B Du Bois and Booker T. Washington stood out to defend the black
people in the ruling of America. The two political leaders advocated for the provision of human
rights to the black people and to the end of oppression, mistreatment and discrimination in America.
Booker T. was born in the early 1850s, he later becomes a political activist in fighting for the human
right. Additionally, W.E.B Du Bois, was born on 1860s, Dubois was later a

Korean Politics And Korean Political Leadership
In 1910, Japan became the first non–western colonial power by annexing Korea. But unlike the
western empires, Japan wanted to strip away not only Korean resources, but also Korean history and
culture. To justify the invasion, the Japanese claimed that they were "liberating" the Koreans from
their "ethnic and cultural backwardness" (Palais 412). As a result, mainstream Korean history has
taught that Korea was an insignificant player in pre–modern Asia which was beset both by internal
and external conflict. The Japanese perpetuated the notions that foreign powers constantly invaded
Korea, that Korean political leadership regularly fought amongst themselves, that the ruling elite
continually oppressed its people, and that Korea was a cultural extension of China. However, these
beliefs about Korean history are largely inaccurate.
In fact, while Korea was a comparatively small country, it had the ability to defend itself from
foreign attacks through direct combat and diplomatic means. Also, Korean political structure and
ideologies enabled prolonged periods of stability despite internal conflict, allowing Korean
dynasties to last longer than Chinese ones. Additionally, even though the ruling elite required taxes,
labor, and military service from its people, sources reveal that they often had the Korean people's
interests in mind. Finally, although China largely influenced Korean culture, Koreans augmented the
borrowed cultural ideas to make them their own.

American political thought from W.E.B Du Bois to Booker T. Washington to Marcus Garvey who

emancipation should take. W.E.B Du Bois argued that African–Americans should political,

A good example of part of the current civil rights concept is that fight for reparations with arguments
for it being that it will "encourage innovation, creation, and development of small business"

and economic politics. The impact of the civil rights concept towards racial liberation has been well
documented throughout U.S history due to its importance. Booker T. Washington had a different
concept of the type of liberation African–Americans should seek that can be considered fairly
different from other concepts of racial leadership in that he believed in economic autonomy being
the best path towards racial emancipation. Washington he was born into slavery and he didn't hold

Ronald Reagan Leadership Analysis
When one thinks of a leader in the Unites States, the first person they might think of is the President.
History portrays Ronald Reagan's Presidency as a successful period in our country and credits his
leadership as the main catalyst. President Reagan has been credited with an economic resurgence,
restoral of America as a world power, ending the Cold War and bringing legitimacy and confidence
back to the Office of the President. This paper will perform analysis of President Reagan's
leadership using Trait Approach and Transformational Leadership Theory. These theories have
commonalities which demonstrate support for one another.
Trait Approach consists of leadership theories looking to identify what qualities great leaders
possess so future leaders can be identified based on these qualities. These theories have been
referred to as the "Great Man" theories because the traits were based from research of readily
identifiable extraordinary leaders (Northhouse, 2016, p. 19). Researchers believed all great leaders
must share certain qualities, which makes them able to distinguish themselves above all others. This
seemed like a logical approach, however it became apparent determining an absolute required set of
traits for leadership proved difficult. Traits which make one an effective leader may only work in
certain situations or with certain followers. Intensive studies were conducted during the 20th century
with several theories identifying varying sets of traits

The leader of the Crested Butte Community School demonstrates a democratic style of leadership.
In terms of the growth curve this organization rests in the mature stage. That said, the attraction for
families to relocate to an area such as Crested Butte, Colorado is growing. As a result, the
administration needs to be vigilant to match staff with the growing number of students.
The staff within this organization is seasoned which reflects the style of the democratic style leader.
For the younger staff, the leader utilizes a more authoritative approach and provides direction and
support. Throughout the organization, retention is strong and the school experiences very little
turnover. The leader is seen as a hand's on leader who seeks input from others during the decision
making process. That said the leader makes the final decision. During the work week
communication to all staff is distributed to inform the group of a variety of topics, with group
discussion of those topics identified take place mid week. This inclusion creates an environment of
trust and motivation within the group. (Cherry, K. 2016).
The democratic style of the organization's leadership mirrors my personal leadership style. I am a
true believer of inclusion constantly seeking out input of others during the decision making process.
At the end, the final decision rests on the shoulders of the leader. Utilizing all three styles of
leadership is essential which is dependent

citizens elect a Republican or a Democrat President; there will be major changes in the country."
This a very broad and general statement, but in its brevity it holds substantial meaning for country's

precedence over others and these issues will drive how our country's policies will change in the near

presidential campaigns this year. Candidates, most notably Donald Trump, are pushing for major

Bill Gates Leadership Style Essay
Introduction
Leadership style is designed according to a pioneer 's behaviors, which is enveloped under
behaviorist theory. Inside of this class, distinctive examples of leadership behavior are watched and
classified as leadership styles. Practicing managers have a tendency to be the most keen on looking
into this specific theory in light of the fact that with it leaders can modify their style taking into
account the convictions, values, inclinations and society of the association they work for. Leadership
can also be conceived as a process where one or more persons influence a group of person to move
in a certain direction. The word leadership has been used in various aspects of human endeavor such
as politics, business, academics and social works. Messick and Krammer(2004) debated about the
degree to which the individual exhibits leadership traits depends not only on his characteristics and
personal abilities but also on the characteristics of the situation and environment in which he finds
himself. Bill Gates was born in 1955, had a love of computers and began programming mainframe
computers when he was 13 years old. The text below will consist of an analysis of the leadership
style of bill gates according to an existing leadership style theory.

Hillary Clinton's Transformational Leadership
I have always been interested in Hillary Clinton. She has built extensive face and name recognition

trying to take on one of the most important leadership roles of her lifetime. There are many people
who do not understand her leadership style, but she has demonstrated that she has the ability to use
it to succeed and that it has gotten her to where she is today. Her leadership attributes allow her to be

Transformational leadership can be defined as a process in which leaders and their followers raise
one another to higher levels of morality and motivation and plan for the future. In order to be a
transformational leader, a person must serve as an example of integrity and fairness, set clear goals,
and have high expectations. In 1977, Hillary co–founded Arkansas Advocates for Children and
Families, which is a non–profit organization that encourages public policy in Arkansas that will
benefit children and their families. Their mission is to ensure that all children and families have the
resources and opportunities available to lead healthy and productive lives and reach their full
potential. During the time she served as First Lady of Arkansas, she was also appointed head of the
Arkansas Education Standards Committee. This entity had the task of reforming the state's public
education system, which was ranked almost at the bottom of the list of all fifty states. Hillary spent a
lot of time trying to sell her proposals for reform which included things such as boosting course
offerings and making class sizes smaller. In the end, the administration agreed to boost the state
sales tax by 1 percentage point. Even though she faced negative responses from the teachers' union,
Hillary won over the lawmakers in the

Political Leadership And Its Importance
1. Theoretical Definition
"Being a leader is a complex fate. Although contradictions and clashing expectations are part of life,
they are especially present in the exercise of leadership" (Cronin and Genovese 2012, 1).
Political leadership is a broad multidimensional phenomenon that has been analyzed through various
lenses; yet there is no one concrete definition. In the following response, I will present a brief
overview of my interpretation through which I have come to understand political leadership and its
importance. Then, I will examine the relevance of the typologies and authors we have considered in
relation to political leadership.

Although Sandberg's framework can be useful in the business world, I find that studying political
leadership strictly from a gender–based approach could be insufficient. Regardless of his/her gender,
a leader is an individual that possesses the necessary characteristics that will make or break his/her
leadership. In her book, The Power of Latino leadership, Juana Bordas offers culture–based analysis
of leadership. Although her book focuses on Latino culture, I find some of the leadership principles
that she offers, relevant in trying to define political leadership. For example, Personalismo (The
Character of the Leader) is a leadership principle that explores leaders' abilities to connect with
people and embody traits that will exemplify trust and respect in relation to their followers (Bordas
2013, 8). Juntos (we are together) describes the "collective and collaborative nature of leadership"
(Bordas 2013, 10). The leader works hand in hand with his/her followers to achieve the desired
common end results (Bordas 2013, 10).
These two principles presented by Bordas are strongly related to James MacGregor Burns' account
of transforming leadership. He describes transforming leadership as a collective process where
leaders and followers empower each other to fulfill the wants and the needs of the people (Burns
2003, 2). Burns argues that "deep and durable change, guided and measured by values, is the
ultimate purpose of transforming leadership, and

or a an CEO developing a company's sales strategy. I believe that a good, efficient and effective
leader has many different qualities and does not operate under or display one leadership style, but
will take on and portray a mixture of leadership styles.

Creative And Innovative Side Of Leadership

  • 1. Creative And Innovative Side Of Leadership The creative and innovative side of leadership is important and others must be encouraged to focus upon the invention and creative concepts. Once, others are encouraged a creative leader must practice creative leadership skills in their own practices. There are many leaders who can be known as creative leaders and an interesting point to note is that a creative leader leads from his soul and has characteristics and qualities that support the creative leadership concept. As an individual leader will flourish, mature and evolve further, their impact on their organization will also grow simultaneously. With this new concept of creative leadership we are certainly witnessing a new generation of leaders, who are not willing to remain stagnant to merely follow the company policy, rules and regulations but to implement new and creative ideas with the workplace settings. A creative leader is the one who is able to think out of the box to bring in innovative product, launch a new product category or provide new services. An innovative leader is certainly willing to move way ahead of the cultural and structural barriers in the company and address the concerns raised by all with confidence. Leadership approach that best describes me as a leader Management involves controlling teams and tasks to accomplish targets whereas leadership refers the skills and abilities of an individual and his charisma to exert influence and enable the others to follow him. • 3. How Leadership Styles Can Affect Performance Within Teams Many challenges are faced within nursing in this century. Evolution in technology is not only in the diagnostic and operating theatres but also in the clinical ward and outlying areas. Advancements in computer technology, telemedicine and the effects of the baby boomer generation aging are taking its toll and nursing leadership is a prerequisite to keep up with the diversities encountered. More collaboration is essential with allied services requiring nursing teams to perform effectively to match the challenges faced. Perioperative is one of the front line services and a large consumer of a health care budget. Managing the Operating Room services is equivalent to overseeing a commercial enterprise and nurse leaders in this field are required to understand the business acclaim, financial impact, strategic planning and all else that might evolve (Taylor 2014). This paper is going to review the impact of leadership in the perioperative arena. Differences in leadership styles will be addressed and how styles can affect performance within teams. Additionally are nurses prepared for this evolving pressure driven healthcare system we presently find ourselves in? Elements of gender will be looked at as nursing is still predominantly female and can this affect abilities to effectively lead change? Observations will be made to a personal experience in managing a team leader in a Middle Eastern tertiary hospital to meet the executive directives and budgetary constraints. This will ... Assignment 1: The Impact of Socio–Political Factors on the Management and Leadership of Early Childhood Settings Introduction The social and political factors greatly impact management and leadership roles in Early Childhood settings. The impacts caused by these factors can vary from favourable to non–favourable and need to be taken into consideration to create a positive environment for the management and leadership positions in early childhood services. This paper aims to discuss the impact that socio–political factors can have on management and leadership as well as highlighting ad comparing responsibilities of these roles. • 7. Transformational Leadership Is Developed By Political... Transformational Leadership Theory was developed by political sociologist James Mac Gregor Burns. In this theory, he differentiated two styles of leadership: transformational leadership and transactional leadership. In transformational leadership, it is a process where both the leaders and the followers elevate motivation and morality. The transformational leaders pay attention to the needs and motives of followers and help them achieve their fullest potential. They influence their followers' behaviors by appealing to the ideas and values and enhance the followers' commitment to their vision. Literature Review 1) Relationship between transformational leadership and employees' job satisfaction among the academic staff The authors of this article performed a study by collecting 214 questionnaires from academic staff to evaluate the relationship between transformational leadership and employees' job satisfaction. The study also emphasized the relationship among the variables: idealized influence, individual consideration, inspirational motivation and intellectual stimulation and job satisfaction. The outcome of their study indicated that transformational leadership has a positive and strong relationship with employees job satisfaction with r = 0.725 which means that higher transformational quality equates to higher employee job satisfaction. It also pointed out that leaders are ready to transform and improve. Leaders with clear vision, high inspiration, creative and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Core Essence Of ' Servant Leadership ' From A Biblical... As a Doctoral candidate and a Singles Adult Ministry leader, I believe it is vitally important to understand the tasks and challenges, in becoming an effective leader in ministry and our society today. Therefore, this research paper will attempt to articulate the core essence of 'Servant Leadership' from a Biblical perspective, which might be able to provide practical, theological, and hermeneutical insights in order to develop leadership competency and a healthy prosperous ministry, as oppose to the current secular 'leadership' myths and fascination in our church, culture and society. Admittedly, over the years I have always admired and strived to adopt a servant leader attitude in all my endeavors. Equally, the paper will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, author Wade Berry, in an article with reference to Paul's practice of leadership, describes it as: 'Leadership' is understood here not as dealing with how a particular leader understands and develops the organizational structure of her or his group, but as how a leader interacts with the members of the group in order to get individuals within the group as a whole to adopt certain values, goals, practices, or behaviors.' This is a beautiful reflection of leadership, which provides us with a basic foundational framework. On that basis, when I reflect on the term "Servant Leader", from a hermeneutical perspective, it would appear to be a paradox, from my own conceptual understanding of the language. For instance, when we think of a servant, we often envision someone serving others. Likewise, we perceive a leader as the one who is influential, powerful and has authority. Paradoxically, the two words together seem to contradict each other, but also serve as a prophetic concept to emphasize the core essence of Jesus' and Paul's leadership model. In reality, the term servant leader is a model that reflects trust, communication, integrity, sacrifice, humiliation, selflessness and the ethical use of power. The servant leadership model by its own nature has traits as well as, learned skills, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The Relationship Between Transformational Leadership And A... purpose of this paper is to connect the relationships between transformational leadership and a political frame within a specific historical context. A true story within a higher education community forms the basis of how the two theories connect. The concept of forming strategic alliances will be examined through the study of frames and transformational leadership from literature. A reflection looking through my original human resource frame and then a political frame follows to observe what I learned and how my understanding of the situation is different in hindsight. The conference center served the education school community on a nearly free basis for their events by raising funds from external clients to offset internal costs. The location of the conference center was unusual, situated on the ground floor of the library. Because of this locale, it fell under the jurisdiction of the library director, who was also faculty and a very influential community member. Conference center conflict reached an all–time high in late 1992. The conference director stated he couldn't take the pressure anymore. The administration had grown tired of the ongoing financial conflict. They threatened to close the conference business along with the center in an effort to get rid of him. With this threat, many other departments made forays toward controlling the center itself. In an effort to preserve his legacy, the director agreed to step down if he could hand pick his successor in an effort to save the operation as it stood and not fall under control of the other departments. The Great Depression provided a political opportunity for Hitler. Germans were ambivalent to the parliamentary republic, which faced strong challenges from right– and left–wing extremists. The moderate political parties were increasingly unable to stem the tide of extremism, and the German referendum of 1929 helped to elevate Nazi ideology.[120] The elections of September 1930 resulted in the break–up of a grand coalition and its replacement with a minority cabinet. Its leader, chancellor Heinrich Brüning of the Centre Party, governed through emergency decrees from President Paul von Hindenburg. Governance by decree would become the new norm and paved the way for authoritarian forms of government.[121] The NSDAP rose from obscurity to win 18.3 per cent of the vote and 107 parliamentary seats in the 1930 election, becoming the second–largest party in parliament.[122] Hitler and NSDAP treasurer Franz Xaver ... • 15. Analysis Of Donald Trump's Politics As A Vocation In the days following the United States presidential election, many Americans voiced their disbelief that Donald Trump, a man longtime considered a political joke and nuisance, won the election. But despite his brashness, entire lack of eloquence, and discriminatory tendencies, Trump was in fact elected. Many of Trump's supporters attribute his success to his fundamentally different approach to politics and leadership. Max Weber's lecture, Politics as a Vocation, provides an explanation of how Trump's campaign was successful, why he is perceived as refreshing and different by his supporters, and how these same supporters were able to overlook Trump's flaws. Weber defines in his lecture, three ideal types of authority; traditional, legal, and charismatic. Traditional authority can be associated with Hillary Clinton and her institutionalized style of politics, while Trump is aligned with charismatic authority. Trump's charismatic leadership style contrasts the traditional American political approach which contributes to the perception of him as working against the status quo rather than for it. The northern states had more money; which allowed them to increase their assets, such as, their industries, technologies, as well as transportation. The North acquired their money by raising loans and issuing bonds, as well as encouraging citizens and bankers to invest. Two– thirds of the money was from loans and bonds and one– fifth by taxes. Explain and evaluate this claim with reference to social psychological theory and evidence. Leadership can be understood as the process of having an individual member of the highest rank within a group lead its members, or is given the ability to do so. In applied social psychology, leadership can split and tied into occupational and political settings, nonetheless some educational applications of leadership in teachers has likewise been proposed (Karnes & D'ilio, 1990). Consequently, It is accepted that the five factor personality dimensions are the best predictors for effective leaderships that succeed in positive outcomes for the general public or company; this can be interpreted in terms of leadership emergence, effectiveness and promotion (Zaccaro, Kemp & Bader, 2004). A culture in a company like AT&T must include thinking, learning, and action are widely dispersed so the company can have a culture that generates a feeling of honesty and trust. The fourth compass is socio–political. As if the many different challenges aren't enough, the existing control shift in the world and democratization, market systems, privatization, and deregulation create a problem of social and political issues for AT&T. • 29. William Pitt's Leadership In The French And Indian War William Pitt's leadership played a vital role in securing a British victory in the French and Indian War. By 1757, he became a foremost leader in the London government. William was mostly known as the "Great Commoner." William started out his leadership career by picking young and energetic leaders to help spark a life in the military. He wanted to have fresh young minds controlling the military. If any leadership wants to succeed, you have to have a strong military. One of William's first military expeditions were soft–pedaling assaults on the French west Indies. He also wanted to concentrate on the vitals of Canada. This lead to instant success. Later in 1758, he dispatched a powerful expedition against Louisbourg, causing it to fall. The ... • 31. Roman Political Leadership Before the fall of Rome, an underlying change took place that transformed the original Republic into the mighty Roman Empire. Many factors directly and indirectly affected this shift in political leadership. By 509 B.C., the Romans established its own social and economic influence. They had overpowered the Etruscan kingdom and came to the realization that law and order was necessary to curb the ambitions of the powerful, whether they be enemies, or rulers of their own making. The Roman republic, therefore, developed under a system of government that divided the power among two consuls, the Senate and the Plebian Assembly. • 33. The Political Leadership For Ending The Drug War There hasn't been any real political leadership for ending the drug war from either of the major political parties. The Republican Party is the most ardent supporter of the drug war, yet it contradicts some of its main principles. In fact, it's difficult to name another political issue, other than the legalization of drugs, which would better accomplish the party's goals for reducing government spending while benefitting the private sector. The Republican Party has somehow successfully attached itself to the drug war while selling fears of "big government" and "the nanny state." Republicans tout the virtues of free markets, yet they apparently don't feel those same virtues apply to a free society. As Gore Vidal once stated, they prefer "laissez faire" economics over "laissez faire" values. In addition, the Republican Party is generally the most vocal with supporting states' rights in hopes of reducing wasteful federal government spending, except in the case where states have legalized medical or recreational marijuana. Very few within the Democratic Party have displayed the political courage to challenge the drug war even though most of their political base would support them. In fact, many Democrats have used the drug war as a political bargaining chip. Some others have even used the drug war to try to "out– conservative" the conservatives. That was exactly the case with the Clinton administration. Many people assumed that Bill Clinton's deflection of his prior drug ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I am going to talk about former president Barak Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, president–elect Donald Trump, and Melania Trump. Politics has always been considered to belong to a certain category of people and therefore making many people not to want its active participation. It is in fact considered by many American citizens to be an evil that only those willing to compromise on their values can participate in. It should be noted that for people to feel well represented, a leader must have the ability to empathise with their situation and ultimately deliver them from it. An educated person may not be able to speak a language that a least educated person can speak. There will also be a clash on interests and therefore creating a big gap. This is the same with the rich and the poor. Sometimes, some of the ambitions that political leaders have which they require the participation of the people may be quite ridiculous. A leader cannot for example venture into an expensive project among the poor people and expect them to fund it. This is because such people are struggling to put food on their table and may not necessarily have extra funds to find the project. It will however be reasonable if such a leader encouraged people to pull their resources together and think of ways of uplifting their living. Political Morality And Leadership Lessons Discussions about political morality and leadership often lead differences of opinion over the means to attaining them even in the face of numerous consensuses about the nature and scope of the end itself. This means that most commentators on the issue disagree on many philosophical or procedural bases but yet agree on some. A classic example of this dualism is represented in the leadership lessons covered by Cicero, on the one hand, and Machiavelli on the other. Whereas their lessons are fundamentally divergent in many regards, there are some subtle points of implicit convergence. The purpose of this essay is to assess with a comparison and contract of the lessons as found by the assigned writings of Cicero and Machiavelli. Both of these books providers time– tested theories and assertions that have been used to obtain and sustain power and leadership. One of the points of convergence in the leadership lessons offered by both philosophers is the appreciation of the role of fate or accident that occurs when one is thrust into a power position. Whereas both do not underestimate the role of personal attributes and dedication in attaining these positions, they strongly hold the position that chance and fate can be a major contributor to one's ascendance to power. Cicero, for instance, argues that "chance or opportunity thrusts upon the individual" when it comes to attaining kingdoms, command, high offices, nobility, property and wealth (Cicero, 1951). Heroes teach us right and wrong, he said; heroes give us great inventions and discoveries. It is the great few who transform society; the multitude follows them. Some of those decisions are insignificant, and only affect people in the short term. Some are bigger and determine the long–term fate of society; and others go even further as to determine who those leaders are as people and how they will leave society for future generations (Joseph, 2001). Socrates raised the question, "What is a virtuous man, and what is a virtuous society?" In observing the leadership that will ultimately decide the future for our society, I believe we must ponder the same question. Presidential campaigns, for example, can have candidates that are either mediocre or very bland, or candidates that are extremely fake and superficial. It is uncertain whether we know each candidate's true personality or beliefs when we place our votes on Election Day. These elected political figures may be seen as leaders in the eyes of their constituents, but that does not mean that they are true or good leaders. Many natural leaders are successful in convincing their followers to engage in negative activities or believe harmful ideas. Bill Clinton, for example, was seen as a natural–born leader throughout his schooling career, yet his leadership qualities while serving as President led him to be very corrupt and cause discourse and scandal. Likewise, many political figures may appear to be leaders to the public eye, but may not be ethical in their leadership, therefore being detrimental to their constituents instead of beneficial (Anderson, 2000). Alfred Grazia, a political author, identifies political leaders as, "any occupant of an established political position or as any person, in or out of such a position, whose political activity has more influence upon a group's behavior than has the activity of the average member." This requires the political leaders to have special skills that the ordinary citizen doesn't have so as to lead in a proper way. Additionally, leaders are expected to have the power to fight for the people's rights to any opposing or discriminating the people. During the colonization time, most of the people from African countries were colonized by the Western countries that lead to the movement of these people from Africa to western Countries and America so as to serve as slaves. To justify the invasion, the Japanese claimed that they were "liberating" the Koreans from their "ethnic and cultural backwardness" (Palais 412). As a result, mainstream Korean history has taught that Korea was an insignificant player in pre–modern Asia which was beset both by internal and external conflict. The Japanese perpetuated the notions that foreign powers constantly invaded Korea, that Korean political leadership regularly fought amongst themselves, that the ruling elite continually oppressed its people, and that Korea was a cultural extension of China. However, these beliefs about Korean history are largely inaccurate. In fact, while Korea was a comparatively small country, it had the ability to defend itself from foreign attacks through direct combat and diplomatic means. Also, Korean political structure and ideologies enabled prolonged periods of stability despite internal conflict, allowing Korean dynasties to last longer than Chinese ones. These theories have commonalities which demonstrate support for one another. Trait Approach consists of leadership theories looking to identify what qualities great leaders possess so future leaders can be identified based on these qualities. These theories have been referred to as the "Great Man" theories because the traits were based from research of readily identifiable extraordinary leaders (Northhouse, 2016, p. 19). Researchers believed all great leaders must share certain qualities, which makes them able to distinguish themselves above all others. This seemed like a logical approach, however it became apparent determining an absolute required set of traits for leadership proved difficult. Although Sandberg's framework can be useful in the business world, I find that studying political leadership strictly from a gender–based approach could be insufficient. Regardless of his/her gender, a leader is an individual that possesses the necessary characteristics that will make or break his/her leadership. In her book, The Power of Latino leadership, Juana Bordas offers culture–based analysis of leadership. Although her book focuses on Latino culture, I find some of the leadership principles that she offers, relevant in trying to define political leadership. For example, Personalismo (The Character of the Leader) is a leadership principle that explores leaders' abilities to connect with people and embody traits that will exemplify trust and respect in relation to their followers (Bordas 2013, 8). Juntos (we are together) describes the "collective and collaborative nature of leadership" (Bordas 2013, 10). The leader works hand in hand with his/her followers to achieve the desired common end results (Bordas 2013, 10). These two principles presented by Bordas are strongly related to James MacGregor Burns' account of transforming leadership. He describes transforming leadership as a collective process where leaders and followers empower each other to fulfill the wants and the needs of the people (Burns 2003, 2). Burns argues that "deep and durable change, guided and measured by values, is the ultimate purpose of transforming leadership, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I believe that a good, efficient and effective leader has many different qualities and does not operate under or display one leadership style, but will take on and portray a mixture of leadership styles. The historic leader and his leadership style I wish to elaborate on is Franklin D. Roosevelt. An American Statesman and Political leader Franklin D. Roosevelt commonly referred to by his initials as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More than 25% of the workforce was unemployed and hungry and homeless people could be found everywhere across the length and breadth of the country bringing the nation on the verge on social chaos. FDR was however undaunted and was quite optimistic in the midst of the worst financial conditions the U.S. has ever faced, giving many hope as presented in his Inaugural speech, when he promised that "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself."7. He was not only a man of words but of action and a man who was able to bring back a county's stability. He was able to steer the nation through the Great Depression by fighting for and pushed through legislations that brought about lasting reforms in the banking and financial sectors, resuscitated and revived an ailing American agricultural and industrial systems. He ensured that there was direct cash relief for the marginalized and job programs to meet the immediate starvation crisis and the dire needs of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
