Professional Code of ethics is the foundation
of school character and values. They are
codes established to set one’s school apart
from others .
The type of school may reflect the content
of ethical code. Public schools may acquire
different professional ethical standards than
private schools or those affiliated with a
religious schools

RIGHT
Professional codes of education protects schools and communities from actions contributing
from opposing viewpoints
Exceptional Professional code of ethics declarations will clearly establish the boundaries and
expectations that are fulfilled by students and teachers
Creates unity of approach
Teachers should use their schools code of ethics when making informed professional decisions
According to the National Association for Educators (1994-2015), “The professional educator deals
considerately and justly with each student, and seeks to resolve problems, including discipline, according
to law and school policy”.
Teachers under the ethical code have a responsibility to carry themselves in a manner that reflects this code.
An example, we notice Johnny bullying another kid. Johnny is a school student and disciplining him may
forfeit his scholarship to college in the fall. Our personal preference may be ignoring the situation, but the
professional decision must be decision must be made in a manner that will meet the code of ethics criteria
No one is exempt from following the professional code of ethics
