1. SCRIPT – THE NOTE
EXT. NEW FAMILY HOUSE – DAY
FREDDIE and CHARLOTTE begin to move things into their newly brought
house. An establishing shot will set the scene of the film.
FREDDIE:
I feel really good about this
place Charlotte!
CHARLOTTE:
So do I, I love it here, I can’t
believe it was such a bargain
BETH rummages through the last few boxes to find her favourite teddy
BETH:
Mummy, I found it!
CHARLOTTE:
That tatty old thing should
have been left behind
BETH glares at her mother and then runs into the new family home
FADE TO BLACK
INT. BETH’S BEDROOM - DAY
BETH finds a note written on pink flowery paper in bold capitals ‘HI
FRIEND’. BETH replies to the note saying ‘Hello, who are you?
CHARLOTTE:
(SHOUTS) Dinners ready
BETH places her teddy in bed and the note safely away in her draw
INT. DINING ROOM - EVENING
Family sitting at table, BETH hears her teddy making a noise, so she
leaves the table and proceeds upstairs.
INT. BETH’S BEDROOM - EVENING
BETH stands looking down at her teddy that has had the ear ripped
off. The note is sat beside it, however, it is scrunched. She opens
the note, and sees no reply. She looks up confused and sees written
on her window ‘Friend, why didn’t you invite me to dinner?’
BETH:
(SCREAMS)Mummyyyy
CHARLOTTE stands beside BETH. BETH points to the window, but there
is nothing there.
BETH shows her mum the teddy, and she just shakes her head.
INT. BETH’S BEDROOM - NIGHT
2. BETH hears her teddy, wakes up suddenly.
INT. BATHROOM - NIGHT
Walks into the bathroom, sees her teddy in the sink full of blood
with one arm missing. She turns to the mirror and sees the teddy’s
missing arm sitting on the top. She tries to each it but notices a
strange figure behind her.
INT. BETH’S BEDROOM - NIGHT
BETH sitting on bed rocking staring at blank wall
INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY
BETH possessed writing notes to her own family on mirrors herself.
INT. DINING ROOM – DAY
BETH starts reading the note at the family table and CHARLOTTE
snatches it off her. BETH swipes her in the face leaving her with a
scratch across her face.
INT. KITCHEN - DAY
CHARLOTTE is sobbing whilst looking through old photos of BETH.
FREDDIE walks into the kitchen to see her crying.
FREDDIE:
What’s up?
CHARLOTTE:
(HOLDING A PHOTO) What
went wrong?
EXT. GARDEN - EVENING
BETH walks across the garden, and a light appears, she stares into
the light.
INT. DINING ROOM – EVENING
BETH begins to destroy the house, ripping off the table cloth and
kicking furniture around. She hears her mother coming down the
stairs, she hides behind the wall, and follows her mother into the
living room.
INT. LIVING ROOM – EVENING
BETH pushes her mother and is about to hit her with the vase, but is
interrupted by her dad. He grabs the vase.
FREDDIE:
Why are you doing
all of this?
BETH:
The note
