When it comes to wellness issues, I have always struggled the most with stress. I have always been
more prone to become stressed, due to my anxiety. Therefore, stress is a big obstacle in my life, and
it is something that I need to find a way to deal with, especially now that I have begun to attend
college. Because I have dealt with anxiety before, I have a good idea of my stress level. My stress
levels can become very high, and as a result, I have several ways of dealing with stress. As a result, I
am familiar with some of the techniques mentioned in the textbook. For example, exercising has
always been an effective stress technique for me. As mentioned in the textbook, performing
exercises such as running and walking on a regular basis has been an effective way for me to reduce
stress. However, the textbook has also introduced me to new techniques to help manage my stress,
as well as ways to improve techniques I already use. One of these new techniques is eating healthy.
Prior to reading the text, I never considered that my eating habits would affect my stress levels.

As a class we have covered numerous concepts, theories and techniques in chapters six, through
eight and eleven in our textbooks and in class lectures. The concept in which has intrigued me so far
in the semester of social psychology is the foot–in–the–door phenomenon. The foot–in–the–door
phenomenon is described in our textbooks as "the tendency for people who have first agreed to a
small request to comply later with a large request" (Virginia Commonwealth University, 2013). It

Out of all the amazing things I saw in the Pearls on a String, the one that I found the most interesting
was Akbar and 'Abd al–Rahim, from the Akabarmana (Book of Akabr, 1586–1589). It is amazing to
see how many different scenes can all occur in one piece. Overall, The Book of Akbar had multiple
outstanding pieces but the emotion in this particular page is what caught my attention. Although I
did not study the other pages as intensely as this one, it is clear to see that Abul Fazlt's technique is
spectacular throughout each and every page. This painting is historical, depicting a young Abdul
Rahim Khan–I–Khana being received by Akbar after his family was killed. A great story is told

"A Different Road" by Elizabeth Strout, is a short story about an old couple named Henry and Olive

attempting to steal drugs. Overall, I really enjoyed the story because of the plot, the characters, the
structure, the writing technique, and the humor. I found the plot to be very entertaining because I
like stories about people in danger. In the story, Henry and Olive Kitteridge are just an average old
couple who live in New England, and their son has just moved to California. After going out to
dinner one night and eating crab meat, Olive demands that Henry stops at the hospital so she can use
the restroom, and the nurse insists that Olive get checked out just to be safe. They all end up tied up
in the bathroom by two men in masks. I really liked the plot because I feel like there aren't too many
stories about old people being held hostage, and I thought it was very creative. I also thought the
story had a lot of action in it, which kept me hooked. Although I enjoyed the plot, I also really liked
the characters, especially Olive. I thought Olive was a very funny and unique character because of
her witty remarks, and because of how dominant she was. For example, I liked when she demanded
that Henry pull over, and when he told her to wait she said "Tell my insides"(107) and "Good Lord,
Henry. I'm about ready to explode" (107). I thought these remarks were pretty funny, and added a lot
to her character. I also liked when she said "Stop the goddamn car" (109) because she knew Henry
hated hearing her swear, but she said it anyways to make him mad. I also thought she was funny
when the doctor was examining her because she appreciated that the doctor wasn't bored since other

This technique is a good one to show that Dr Crowe is alive when he is not. Then she lifts her head
up but we cannot see her face, she then moves it despondently to the side, this makes the audience
think– is she ignoring him for being late? After this shot, he says "I thought the other Italian
restaurant I asked you to marry me in" then tilts his head quizzically to the side trying to gauge her
expression. She does not respond. The audience are, wondering why she isn't responding to him.
The shot is still an over the shoulder shot, Dr Crowe sits down mouthing the work "ok". This

Technical activity is the most primitive activity of man. For example: activities like hunting, fishing,

Pros:
Sensitivity analysis shows the sensitivity of economic payoffs to uncertain values such as discount

Pros:

impractical to perform on the real system. Simulation is useful where other analytical techniques are
not applicable. Simulation is cheaper and less risky than altering the real system [ (Lucey, 2002) ].

Cons:
The models are complex and therefore they can take up significant amounts of managerial and
technical time. Computer expertise is also required and this may not be available [ (Lucey, 2002) ].
Simulations do not always result in the optimal outcome. The manager makes the decision based on
the tested alternatives. The optimal decision may not have been tested. Simulations are not relevant
to all management decisions.

In the article by Richard M. Suinn, of Colorado State University, titled "Clinical Practice, University
Research, and Students: A Historical Perspective on Anxiety Management Training" from The
American Psychologist, Suinn discusses the history and application of Anxiety Management
Training, AMT.
He first explains his development of AMT through is many years of educating at various
universities. Suinn first talks how he first "examined how anxiety influenced the relationship
between self–acceptance and acceptance of others and the association between anxiety and
identification" at Whitman College. (Suinn, 1995, p. 287) After many years of research he along
with one of his student, Hunter Hill, they found "that anxiety disrupts the trend for self–perceptions
to color evaluations of others and is significantly associated with low self–esteem." (Suinn, 1995, p.
287) While at Whitman he also conducted research with another student, Tom Smith, where they
hypothesized that is a correlation between high identification and low anxiety. However, this
hypothesis was proven to be wrong and they found no relationship between the two. Suinn, then
talks about his time at the University of Hawaii. Here, along with some of his students, investigated
if group desensitization or individual desensitization was more effective. It was found that they were
both equally affected, even more so they discovered that a briefer approach was just as successful as
a longer approach when reducing
