This is a contents page of the record store day NME magazine edition with Alex Turner on the front.
It has 7 images on its contents page which tells me I should use around 4 or more images on my
magazines contents page.
I personally would describe the page as well organised and neat however any negatives I could say
is that it isn't colourful enough but the NME uses recycled paper which means the paper is Black &
White which gives it a kind of Newspaper which could connote it is something valuable like certain
Newspaper front covers, e.g. The daily mirror when the Berlin Wall came down.
Alex Turner, the cover artist does feature on
the page except his is with the rest of the
Arctic Monkeys. On the contents page of my
magazine I too will include an image of the
person on the front cover.
There is no editors note which suggests the
Magazine is 100% focused on the music and
the images more people playing music live
than posed photo-shoots which again
suggests the NME is totally focused on music
but also live and new music as well

The contents page does show information about subscription to the magazine and shows its
audience through bright colours such as Red and Yellow and through big, bold writing that
subscription to the magazine is now a pound cheaper. The NME magazine does have competition
with other magazines that focus on the genre of Indie Rock and Rock music such as the Q
magazine, Mojo magazine and Uncut. The NME appeals to its audience through the use of
interviews with the worlds biggest acts and also through the use of E-media with its website and
apps.
The kind of images that are on the contents page
are images of old and new live performances and
also images of artists that have seem to be done in
a photo-shoot style. I have noticed that the images
of people in a photo-shoot style seem to mostly be
interviews.
In my magazine I understand it will be hard to get
actual pictures of live performances but I will use
my pictures taken on a camera to say they are
pictures of an artist I will interview.
