Modern Music Magazine Ideas
1.
2. I have two ideas; one features modern music with genres like dj, dance music, dubstep ect. The other is more on indie genre which Ive already done a photo shoot exspressing the indie theme. The fonts I have chosen are suitable for either indie or a DJ magazine
3. These are a few magazines that have inspired me into making a new modern music magazine. This leaflet has the type of style id like to use. Putting the audience in a state of trance which they feel when they listen to the music. Id want my cover to make the reader feel like they were listening to the music. The reader would have to knowledge of this type of music, not a first timer. I like the idea of the magazine to be very British. The style of the magazine I would not choose like the font of the masthead but the image This magazine has a strong bold masthead and good images. This is the DJ music magazine I like the most. The fonts are solid and the magazine looks much more serious and sophisticated yet still fun and looks like it will let the reader experience the read.
4. For an indie magazine, music magazines like Q inspire me the most. I like Q as it is a modern sophisticated magazine easily readable and suitable to a large sum of people. I would say people who’d be able to read Q are aged 16 – late 20’s. All of the bands featured enable different ages to be able to read the magazine. Although the majority of the bands featured are either solo artists and are the music generation no who are much younger it does supply the older generation with classics. I like how Q present there cover lines though i would try and keep them to the left column i like how there formed using different sized fonts and colours. I think this is an effective way to be read. Q’s magazine featuring Lilly Allen is one of my favourites as the whole image and cover lines are linking the artist as a fun, sexy and dangerous artists who's not afraid of much. This front cover can tell you a lot about the artist. The use of animals also betrays the artist as daring. The Kings of Leon cover also shows the link between the main image and main cover line.
5. I think an more interesting read would be about a solo artist and how one persons talent can make themselves a big name in the music industry. I will structure the interview with series of questions. Also a blog from the artist expressing issues that the artist wants to bring up. BANDS! The genre of music I am looking is someone who is different and makes music which the majority will listen to. A big part of the band involves there fashion style. I want to band to play different types of instruments. And talk about how they find it playing them.
