2. The main reason we chose this song is because Ed Sheeran is
an artist whose voice would resonate well with our group. His
voice is not too abstract therefore would go well with any of
our lip-syncing.
The song itself would be rather simple to film lip syncing, as it
has a slow beat and tempo.
Regarding what we would put in the video, it would definitely
be performance based mixed with some forms of landscape
shots. Something to present the sadness and isolation present
in the song.
The performance aspect would be shot in the recording
studio (similar to the prelim task) with the main singer lip-syncing
while playing the guitar.

ED SHEERAN – THINKING OUT LOUD
3. We chose this music video because it has insightful lyrics and an
artistic representation could be constructed from it.
It is also a lesser-known song from Drake (it was released as part
of his second ever mixtape in 2007) and a very different style to
the rest of his work, so we could definitely do our own
interpretation without a lot of influence from Drake himself.
Our music video would most likely entail slow cuts and editing to
make it relate to the beat of the song. It would definitely be a
performance based video and be black and white to represent
the mellow aspect of the song.
The entire concept of the video would also be of sadness and
lost love, something that could be represented easily through
vivid imagery and shots. An example of this is a shot of an empty
room, or a picture frame without an photo. It would also be
narrative based, telling the story of the a failing relationship.

DRAKE - BRAND NEW
4. We chose this song because it is one of n dubz less serious songs.
This allows to get away from his ‘gangsta’ image which would
be quite hard to replicate, thus making this song easier to do.
It is also a different genre to the other two songs, giving us some
variety when it comes down to actually choosing a song to do.
Our music video for this would also be very different to the
previous two, definitely a mixture between performance and
narrative.
It would also me more upbeat, fast paced and without a doubt
in colour due to the nature of the song.
Some of our suggestions for this music video are somewhat
influenced by ndubz earlier songs in the album, as it would be a
montage of comedy based clips mixed with a performance
aspect. The performance aspect would obviously involve our
main singer rapping, so marks for lip-syncing could easily be
gained if we did it right.
There would be no over-arching narrative for the video, simply
just unrelated clips that relate to the lyrics as the song itself is
generally meaningless.
