Context of the mission<br />A Senior Network Engineer within the Infrastructure and operations sub-layer network team should create and keep up to date network devices, information and documentation about these network environments. Sub-layer Networking is a division of Technical Services where the design and engineering of the whole METAMORF data network occurs. The team has several specialists all capable of delivering solutions towards project leaders and several smaller business demands. This team also assures support and important maintenance on a higher level for the core and access network (national datacenter and international sites). You should be able to communicate and discuss with architecture teams and other technical experts. Constant evolution, change and education, collaboration and support for engineers & technical experts are also key tasks. Project support following the Prince II & ITIL v3 procedures and ISO 20000 minded are key.<br />2. Period mission<br />12 months<br />3. Localisation of the job<br />Broekstraat 30<br />1000 Brussels<br />Belgium<br />– Network Architect level 1<br />Principal assignments Experience<br />Taking part in designing networks and selecting network/telecoms software and hardware<br />Defining, implementing and administrating data network infrastructure<br />Intervening as part of projects in a support capacity on network issues<br />Providing network incident management<br />Taking part in compliance reviews and checking the implementation of group policy<br />Principal responsibilities:<br />Reviewing the choice of equipment for networks and for telephony<br />Installing networks as regards both hardware and software<br />Taking responsibility for the consistency of transmission systems, carriers, standards and protocols<br />Being an initiator of ideas for integrating cutting-edge technologies<br />Master – At least 6 years of experience (experience required in the technical environment )<br />Knowledge of communication protocols<br />Mastery of IT and telecommunications security standards<br />Knowledge of network administration tools<br />Architectural and functional knowledge of the information system in a banking environment<br />Behavioural skills:<br />Rigour and being methodical<br />Adapts quickly and easily<br />Ability to decide between technical options<br />Aptitude for working in multidisciplinary teams<br />5. Required knowledge and experience<br />Required level and content of education<br />Master<br />Personal skills<br />As collaborator in a telecom team, you will be able to have high level of expertise in networking: protocols like STP, BGP, OSPF,MPLS are well known.<br />Mandatory: Experience in network technologies in order to have a good background and to discuss with other domain responsibles and with other team members.<br />Business experience required<br />ITIL minded.<br />Mandatory: Be able to deliver high level technical documentation and follow METAMORF processes for projects, incident and change management<br />Preferable: Be able to understand low level technical documentation, technical<br />Technical experience required<br />Experience in network technologies: QoS, VoIP, STP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS. LAN/WAN products: Cisco, Nortel, Juniper.<br />Mandatory<br />LAN experience.<br />Preferable<br />Voice, media, and network security experience.<br />6. Objective of the job<br />Configuring and maintaining network devices in the international network in order to deliver for international projects, changes and running the business and organizing a third line support and maintenance. Delivering and keeping up to date technical documents. Another objective is finding connectivity solutions for projects on different environments of the network. Deliver support for projects making use of standard documentation. Deliver support for procurement for technical paragraphs in requests for information and requests for proposals. You should work together with other divisions of the IT in order to make strategic decisions. Design, planning, configuration, roll-out and documenting of network infrastructure are key tasks.<br />Keeping good contact with different providers of equipment and/or services is necessary. You should<br />follow new techniques and evolutions on hardware and software. Other tasks are explaining network<br />topologies for handover and collaboration to operations department.<br />
