1) The document discusses the importance of establishing a consistent house style when creating multiple media products for a musician. This helps brand the artist and tie all of the products together.
2) The author looked at real music digipacks to analyze different house styles before designing their own. They established a house style for their digipack using consistent colors (black and white, crushed color) that were featured in their music video.
3) A consistent house style and branding elements like shared imagery were used across the music video, digipack, and poster to create a cohesive identity for the artist and their release. The unconventional nature of the digipack is meant to appeal to their target indie audience.
2. How and why is having a house style important when creating
multiple media products.
Whilst designing my own music digi
pack I first of all looked into real digi
packs to look at the different house
styles that the artists had. Most of
the artists digi packs I looked at
showed a picture of the artist on the
front cover. Each and every digi pack
shows a house style depending on
the artist and their genre. The house
style could be anything from the
same colors shown throughout the
digi pack to the same font. Having a
house style is important as it makes
the digi pack, the poster and the
musician themselves.
3. A house style was something I was desperate to
have within my own digi pack, I started off by looking
at the different colours which were shown in my
music video, the main colours within my music video
is black and white and crushed colour.
As I went on to make my digi pack I thought It was
important to keep a picture of Matt and Beth on the
digi pack but I didn't’t want to to either of them on the
front, so I opted to put one of Beth in the cd case
and Matt on the back.

5. How have you created a ‘brand identity’ across your
music video video, digi pack and advert?
I kept the colours the same throughout the music
video, the digi pack and the poster, the two main
colours I used were black and white, and crushed
colour. Keeping the colours the same gives a clear
house style and brand Identity within all three.
I have also used the same shot in all three, which is
the ink going into the water, I used the ink shot on
my poster, the music video and the digi pack, this
again ties all three products together.
6. How do you think your digi pack will sell the
song /album to your audience
I think that the digi pack will sell the record to the
target audience which is indie because It house a
very clear house style which will sell to the target
audience. Also the digi pack and the poster are very
interesting, which will interest people and entice
people to look at it.
7. Because the digi pack doesn’t have the same codes
and conventions as normal digi packs this will also
draw people towards it as it is different and ‘indie’
which is the style genre I was going for anyway.
I think that the advert will sell the digi pack for the
same reasons that the digi pack will sell the song,
the poster is different and challenges the normal
codes and conventions which makes it interesting
and people like interesting stuff.
