EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR COMPOSITIONS

GRAMMAR (3 to 1 points) Grammar correctness is
excellent. Word order in the
sentence is perfect.
There are no mistakes in
subject-verb agreement.
There is an accurate use of
pronouns and adjectives and
a great variety of verb
tenses.
Appropriate adverbs are
used for the different verb
tenses.
Irregular plural nouns and
irregular verbs are used
correctly.
Relative clauses are very well

There are complex
grammatical structures such
as passive, conditional or

Word order in the sentence is perfect. There are no mistakes in subject-verb agreement. There is an accurate use of pronouns and adjectives and a great variety of verb tenses. Appropriate adverbs are used for the different verb tenses. Irregular plural nouns and irregular verbs are used correctly. Relative clauses are very well used. There are complex grammatical structures such as passive, conditional or reported speech. Grammar correctness is good, but there are some mistakes because of the use of difficult and high level grammatical structures. Grammar is correct but there are some mistakes. The use of verb tenses is correct, not very complex though. There should be more structures such as passive, conditionals or reported speech to consider it a good composition for a second year of Bachillerato student. There are serious mistakes that should be corrected as soon as possible because it is difficult to understand this piece of writing. There is not always agreement between subject and verb. The sentences are very simple without good examples of relative, passive, conditional or reported speech.
