In this lab we studied selection and adaptation and we did this by looking at skulls of a variety of species and we categorized them based on their
feeding groups. We looked at omnivores, carnivores, and herbivores; however, for our experiments we only examined carnivores and herbivores.
The paper we used in this unit was studying the way the shape of a skull can determine and help explain their feeding groups; they used the dog
family when doing this study (Slater et al.). For our experiment we used the skulls of carnivores and herbivores provided to us by our lab instructor. In

Taking over with no natural predator, the Burmese Python. These very large pythons have been effecting our Everglades drastically. Once native to
the swampy marshes of Southeast Asia, these snakes are now migrating over to Florida. Being so large and having no natural predator, they have
really made a strong change in our Florida wildlife. These dangerous pythons have altered the population of animals in the Everglades by so much that

Several pet owners, who some may call "irresponsible," owned some of the Burmese Pythons. Once they got too big, the pet owners released them
into the wild were they could now roam free. Also, some people owned exotic animal warehouses which stored many of these snakes. One warehouse
where a hurricane hit, the snakes were all let loose due to destruction of what kept them from escaping. They were supposed to stay in South Africa,

The Dilemma of Animal Captivity Animal captivity is an extremely important, and often overlooked problem that we, as human beings, have placed on
nature and the animals that live in the endangered environment. There are groups of people worldwide who are extremely against animal captivity
because of the drastic and permanent effects it leaves on the animals. These ideas of hatred against animal captivity are expressed in small ways such

Question One: If an alien race landed on Earth and hunted humans, we would need many different protection methods. The five methods I think
would benefit humans the most in an alien invasion would be: venom, speed, webbed feet, strong claws, and strong jaws. Venom would be very
important for my protection because I would rather kill the aliens, instead of avoiding them. In order to inject venom into the aliens, humans
would need to have sharper teeth. I would sneak up on an alien and bite them. This could immobilize the alien once the venom affects them. Two
animals that utilize venom are spiders and snakes. Speed would be another important protection method because if a group of aliens were chasing
