What is the course?
Provides the students with the tools to design, create and upload their own
website. Also covers how to get your website noticed by the search engines like
Google, and practical tips on buying web space etc
Who would benefit
Someone who has been using their PC and the internet for a while and wants to create
their own website

To be able to design and create your own website with confidence
Class sessions
• Anatomy of a website: Will provide you with an appreciation of what makes up a
website and how websites are structured.
• Planning a website: Will show you how to plan, structure and fill a site, including a
guide for writing for the web and preparing graphics.
• Building sites: a hands on process developing a basic website through
exercises etc using free / low cost software WYSIWYG
• Marketing the site Providing an insight in to the marketing of a site, using e-mail,
offline marketing and search engine optimisation.
• More advanced web design tools: having learnt the basics with WYSIWYG, a quick
look at Frontpage 2003
