Standardised testing is something every high school student has to go through as it is a crucial and stressful part of the college application process.
During their junior year, high school student's stress levels increase as they have to take both the SATs/ACTs and AP tests. TheSATwas introduced in
1926 and since then it has slowly become more integrated into the standard procedure in order to get into a university. The AP is an understandable test
as it tests students on what they studies in class; the SAT on the other hand requires students to do all the learning and studying on their own time.

because the application process became harder with the increased focus on essay submission.

pressure on a single test? More importantly, is it an accurate measure of college success? Research is showing more and more that no, it is not an

What is the ACT or SAT? Well, the SAT stands for Standardized American Testing which is the most common method for colleges and universities to
see how much you know of a particular subject and its topics. The SAT is not a fun thing to do or take for the averagehigh school students because of
how unbelievably long it is and how inconvenient the test is. The 2016 SATscale ranges from 0 – 1600 where a 0 is the worst and 1600 is perfect. The
average score for an SAT is a 1050 and the average for an ACT is a 24.
Colleges usually look for 1100 or better. That means that a person has to get above average in a test that is in no way directly affiliated with the
college itself when the test alone is a really difficult and tricky test because it asks all these weirdly worded questions to make a person "think outside
the box''. These tests do not even have a science subject other than the ACT where the "science" is not really science but more like critical thinking

During their junior year, high school student's stress levels increase as they have to take both the SATs/ACTs and AP tests.
