3. Thrill. Character. Trust.
I was a bit more than 4 years old when I first drove pedal kart around my
grandparents’ yard.
Even though I never competed professionally, I have always enjoyed the speed, the
thrill and the competitiveness of wheel-based sports.
That is why I love racing.
Racing is one of very rare sports where
changing team colors does not change the
character of the sportsman or what he
wishes for.
That is why I appreciate racing.
In racing, teamwork means the difference between
life and death.
Maybe that is why there are so few mistakes
compared to business.
That is why I admire racing.
4. Racing club
I quench my desire for racing on kart tracks.
Kart is fast and demanding enough to thrill just about
anyone who loves speed and competition.
If there is a place that celebrates the bond between
human and machine, a place where a racing club could
exist among students – it is MIT.
There are a couple of racetracks in Boston area. It could
be a lot of fun to spend a few weekends at a track with
other classmates.
Even a conference encompassing motivation, desire,
teamwork, wining and losing could be organized.
Perhaps we can invite a guest speaker -
The son of a man who lost his life trying to become
Formula One World Champion, but who himself went on
to win the championship: Jacques Villeneuve.

7. How I think about basketball
It all starts with the dream.
That is a good thing.
I have never stopped dreaming just because I did not have what it takes to become a basketball star.
