MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMEN
Brothers & Sisters, Assalamu Alaikum,
B
y the blessings of Almighty Allah and encouragement from the community,
within a short span of one year we have achieved success in creating India’s
model Islamic Montessori in Jayanagar, Bangalore. Here we have blended
Montessori method with traditional method and integrated with Islamic values. This
has been done under the supervision of world renowned educationalist. We have designed curriculum
and prepared books. Teachers were trained to adopt the pedagogy which we have developed. The
assessment system we have evolved makes teaching child centric. We have plans to open ten schools
in next academic year. Al-Hamdulilah we have opened four schools and one International School(by
April 25, 2014).
Pen is mightier than sword; information is power; whoever controls the information he rules the
world; these are the sayings of this century. But we should be proud of our faith that the importance of
education, pen and information has been emphasized by Quran & Hadith, fourteen hundred and
thirty years ago. A famous event from the life of Prophet (Pbuh) expresses the importance of
education. The event was that: In the battle of Badr, Muslims had captured certain Makkans who
were literate. Prophet Muhammad(s) entered into an agreement with them. As per the agreement
captured Makkans taught Muslims reading and writing and in return they were released. The
prisoners of war were non-muslims and they were not taught Quran & Hadith, but they taught them
reading and writing a language and other skills. Are we taking lessons from the life of Prophet?
It is general observation that most of our families do not care the child of age between 2 to 6 years.
Hazrath Ali had said 0 - 7 years age is most important in the life of human beings. Strong foundation
can be laid in this age.A great Islamic scholar Moulana Abul Hassan Ali Nadvi (R.A.) had said:
Muslims should have same enthusiasm in opening schools, which they have in constructing Masjid
and Madrasha. He also added that Allah will reward in par if anybody opens school also. He had
appealed the wealthy people to open schools. Are we showing the zeal in establishing school? May
Allah help us in opening more and more schools.
Brainy stars, is an education movement. We would like to spread our concept in the country and Insha
Allah across the world. We would like to offer our expertise to the people willing to serve community
and humanity through holistic approach of education. We have vision to establish one thousand
schools across India by 2020, Insha Allah. This can be achieved by strong support from the
community. Our ultimate objective is to bring up the younger generation in an education system
which should enable them to succeed here and in the Hereafter. With this objective our research and
development team is continuously working to develop an alternate system of education which will
bring glory to Ummah and will make India a knowledge centre. Insha Allah. Please join us in this
noble cause and movement.
May Allah bless us. Ameen

just a beginning.
Multi Culture and Belief Policies
Our belief in Islam is that, it is the universal religion which can prove beneficial to the whole world.
The school surroundings provide an environment which prepares the child to be a true Muslim by
fully adapting Islamic values.
The ambience of the school is peaceful and serene, very suitable to engross Islamic culture. Even non-
Muslims avail this benefit of the setting in our school where no element of co-ersion to learn Islam
to become a Muslim . Muslims and non-muslims can equally avail the benefit of high moral values
taught by us. The atmosphere will help the child to be a productive, respectable and dignified citizen
of the world.
MOTTO
 Seeking salvation and bringing Muslims close to a life of everlasting peace and joy,
close to our creator, is of chief importance for us.
 We believe that attaining success in our physical world relates directly to our entry
into paradise (Jannah)
 True success is that which brings true happiness and true happiness comes from the
knowledge of Allah, His mercy and greatness.
 Gaining knowledge that obeying His commands and imbibing the ways of our Holy
Prophet Muhammad(s) we will be successful in life and also will be assure of our
rightful place in heaven.

OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Parents’ handbook Brainy Stars Islamic Montessori
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has said, “every child is born on Fitrat (natural
disposition)...” We nurture his/her fitrat, imbibe in him/her Iman, Knowledge & Taqwa. These
three vibrant qualities will make him/her to achieve success here and in the Hereafter.
OUR CONCEPT OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION
It is an education which is universal and relevant to all mankind, which has no segregation
between religious" and "secular" knowledge. It aims at developing the entire human aspects;
physically, intellectually & spiritually. It up brings child on his nature (Fitrah) and educates him /
her to play his roles as: the servant of God; His vicegerent; and as a responsible citizen of the
country.
"Islamic integrated curricula is essential in-developing every aspect of human potentials and
producing a well-balanced being. The development of mental, physical, emotional, ethical and
aesthetical aspects cannot be enhanced without the process of Islamic integration in the education
system." - Ghazali Basri (A Malaysian Educationalist).
The Islamic curriculum is based on Quran and Sunnah. We have shariah board which approves
the curriculum and train the teachers. The curriculum teaches basics of Islam. We don't follow a
particular Maslak (school of thought). We teach all unity of Ummah and to struggle for
establishment of Islam in individual and collective life. However all the children and their parents
are free to follow their own school of thought (Maslak). Al Hamdulilah Ulema of various schools of
thought (Masalik) have visited our school examined our system and curriculum and appreciated
our policy.
NEED FOR INTEGRATED CURRICULUM
‘ Brainy Stars' educational system has its own assessment system. While we assess child learning
process, ability and skills; we also assess that how much a child is adopting or practicing the
benefits, teachings, etiquettes and Islamic tenets.
For Example, if a Hadees has been taught about drinking of water or milk, it will be assessed
whether the child is practicing it or not. While our assessment results is for parents to understand
progress of their child, it is also for the teachers and management to understand the weakness of a
student and help him to improve.

Scientific Achievements:
Dr. Ahmed has worked on a large number of projects that have shaped the modern world. In 1964 he
was responsible for analyzing the vibrations of Apollo, Saturn and Lunar Land Rover vehicles. In 1968
he developed a method of making fiber optics. His work on advanced composites earned him an
invitation from the International Academy of High Pressure Physics to give the key note lecture on
this subject at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado. The crowning achievement of Dr. Ahmed
was his work on the Hubble Space Telescope. During 1979-82, he provided leadership for the
development of Secondary Mirror Assembly of the Hubble which delivered diffraction limited
performance at 1/700th the wavelength of light in the visible. Thanks to this work and the
contributions of other scientists, the Hubble can look at the very edge of the known galaxy and acquire
stars of magnitude 8. The pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope have provided insights into the
very beginnings of the universe and have inspired people all over the world.Dr. Ahmed has earned 12
United States patents on space based work. His articles have appeared in the Journal of Applied
Physics, Journal of Applied Mechanics, Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, Journal of Basic
Engineering and other journals.
Scholarly work:
Dr. Nazeer Ahmed has written several books. He is the author of Encyclopedia of Islamic History
(www.historyofislam.com) which is a compendium of 10 books on the contribution of Islam to world
civilization. The distinguishing characteristic of his work is that he looks upon history as a Sign from
the Heavens so that humankind may learn from it and use its lessons to improve human society.
Commenting on his work, Professor Niaz Irfan of Lahore wrote, "Dr. Nazeer Ahmed's work should be
compared to that Ibn Khaldun….Dr. Ahmed has advanced his own theory the rise and fall of
civilizations based on renewal…." The work has earned wide acclaim in the United States and around
the world. Perhaps the crowning achievement of Dr. Ahmed is a translation of the Qur'an from Arabic
into easy to read, modern American English. By this work, he has earned a place among a chosen few
who have ever attempted this monumental work and have successfully completed it. He is one of a
handful of people from the Subcontinent who has successfully this distinction. The translation has
been read by more than 360,000 people around the world from the United States to Zanzibar.

MONTESSORI METHOD
Montessori education: is an approach developed by Italian physician and educator and characterized
by an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child's natural physical, and
social development. Montessori education is practiced in an estimated 7,000 schools worldwide,
serving children from birth to eighteen years old.
Maria Montessori began to develop her philosophy and methods in 1897, attending courses in
pedagogy at the University of Rome and reading the educational theory of the previous two hundred
years. In 1907, she opened her first classroom, the Casa dei Bambini, or Children's House, in a
tenement building in Rome. From the beginning, Montessori based her work on her observations of
children and experimentation with the environment, materials, and lessons available to them. She
frequently referred to her work as "scientific pedagogy". Montessori education spread in 1911 and
became widely known in education and popular publications. Montessori education was introduced in
United States in 1960 and has since spread to thousands of schools there. Montessori continued to
extend her work during her lifetime, developing a comprehensive model of psychological development
from birth to age 24, as well as educational approaches for children aged 0 to 3, 3 to 6, and 6 to 12. She
wrote and lectured about ages 12 to 18 and beyond, but these programs were not developed during her
lifetime.
Montessori education:
A trained Montessori teacher
Some important features of Montessori Method:
1. Mixed age classrooms, with classrooms for children aged 2½ or 3 to 6 years old by far
the most common
2. Student choice of activity from within a prescribed range of options
3. Un-interrupted blocks of work time, ideally three hours
4. A "discovery" model, where students learn concepts from working with materials,
rather than by direct instruction
5. Specialized educational materials developed by Montessori and other collaborators
6. Freedom of movement within the classroom
MONTESSORI EDUCATION THEORY
Montessori education is fundamentally a model of and an educational approach based on two basic
elements. First, children and adults engage in psychological self-construction by means of interaction
with their environments. Secondly, children, especially under the age of six, have an innate path of
psychological development. Based on her/ his observations, Montessori believed that children are at
liberty to choose and act freely within an environment prepared according to her / his model would act
spontaneously for optimal development.
Parents’ handbook Brainy Stars Islamic Montessori20
Montessori's education method called for free activity within a "prepared environment", meaning an
educational environment tailored to basic human characteristics, to the specific characteristics of
children at different ages, and to the individual personalities of each child. The function of the
environment is to allow the child to develop independence in all areas according to his or her inner
psychological directives. In addition to offering access to the Montessori materials appropriate to the
age of the children, the environment should exhibit the following characteristics:
Absorbent mind
Montessori described the young child's behavior of effortlessly assimilating the sensorial stimuli of
his or her environment, including information from the senses, language, culture, and the
development of concepts with the term "absorbent mind". She believed that this is a power unique to
the first plane, and that it fades as the child approached age six.
Sensitive periods
Montessori also observed periods of special sensitivity to particular stimuli during this time which she
called the "sensitive periods". In Montessori education, the classroom environment responds to these
periods by making appropriate materials and activities available while the periods are active in the
young child. She identified the following periods and their durations:
Prepared environment
1. Construction in proportion to the child and his/her needs
2. Beauty and harmony, cleanliness of environment
3. Order
4. An arrangement that facilitates movement and activity
5. Limitation of materials, so that only material that supports the child's development is
included
1. Acquisition of language—from birth to around six years old
2. Order—from around one to three years old
3. Sensory refinement—from birth to around four years old
4. Interest in small objects—from around 18 months to three years old
5. Social behavior—from around two and a half to four years old
Parents’ handbook Brainy Stars Islamic Montessori
In the Montessori approach, these human tendencies are seen as driving behavior in every stage of
development, and education should respond to and facilitate their expression.
Human tendencies
Montessori saw universal, innate characteristics in human psychology which her/ his son and
collaborator Mario Montessori identified as "human tendencies" in 1957. There is some debate about
the exact list, but the following are clearly identified
1. Self-preservation
2. Orientation to the environment
3. Order
4. Exploration
5. Communication
6. Exactness
7. Repetition
8. Abstraction
9. The “Mathematical mind”

Normalization:
Finally, Montessori observed in children from three to six years old a psychological state she
termed "normalization". Normalization arises from concentration and focus on activity which
serves the child's developmental needs, and is characterized by the ability to concentrate as well as
"spontaneous discipline, continuous and happy work, social sentiments of help and sympathy for
others."

Parents’ handbook Brainy Stars Islamic Montessori
In a holistic education, which is the essence of 'Brainy Stars' education system, parents also play an
important role.
There is a need to continuously guide and train parents, help them resolve issues related with child
behavior.
We find ample guidance in the life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) pertaining to successful parenting.
'Parenting' is a part of our curriculum. We have notable advisor Dr. Ali Khawja, Chairman, Banjara
Academy, who is an expert in parenting and child psychology. His guidance will be available for
parents of Brainy Stars.
Various Ulema and Islamic Scholars will also help in understanding parenting in Islamic perspective.
Brainy Stars will, Insha Allah regularly organize parenting classes.
Here we are presenting first talk of Moulana Nisar Ahmed, Mazaheri, a renowned Islamic scholar,
who has exclusively spoken to executive director of Brainy Stars Mr. Syed Tanveer Ahmed.
PARENTING
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
The Brainy Stars, education movement has set-up a Research and development unit to study and
evolve holistic approach towards education in an Islamic perspective.
We have been following the developments that are taking place in the field of education all over the
world.
Our team of 'Academic Advisors' is highly educated and experienced. Our team of teachers is also
involved in Research and development. We have been working on the concept of PADI with our
Malaysian advisor Mr. Hasni Muhammad.
What is PADI?
PADI stands for Profiling Assessment Development and Involvement. As per this system schools
maintain profile of all the students. These profiles are analyzed from time to time by experts
(Educationist, Child psychologists, Doctor) Child's development will be observed. In the development
process teacher's involvement is the key factor. In the PADI system school considers parent's
involvement is essential.
We invite valuable inputs from parents, subject experts, educationist and child psychologists.
26
Parents’ handbook Brainy Stars Islamic Montessori
PARENT’S PARTICIPATION
1. We seek parents' continuous cooperation and participation in making their child a 'Brainy
Star'.
2. The child should carry the diary to school every day.
3. The rules mentioned in the communication book of the school have to be read and strictly
followed.
4. Personal details have to be filled and duly signed.
5. Parents are requested to check diary every day, though the assignment is not given on daily
basis. Diary may contain information to parents and sometimes an activity meant for either
child or parents.
6. Parents are requested to observe discipline of the school. Discipline makes a child to become a
star.
7. Parents are advised not to adorn their child with gold ornaments.
8. Parents are requested to keep ready their children before time, if they are availing transport
facility. Likewise they should be ready while they are returned from school.
9. If any parent would like to discuss academic or administrative issues they are requested to
seek appointment either with Principal or Administrator.
10. We appreciate your suggestions or complaints.
11. “Early to sleep and early to rise” is the Islamic concept. Practice this noble habit with your
children. This is sunnah also. Wake up children early morning offer them a glass of milk. Give
them a light breakfast. Some parents don't feed breakfast in their home, instead they send
“heavy lunch box” with the children. We request to the parents that mother can feed children
better than teacher. Teachers have to look after fifteen students. So it is requested to feed
breakfast in home and send light lunch box, free from junk food.
12. Do not send your child to the campus if he/she is found to be having fever or signs of fever.
13. Do not send your child to the campus if he/she is found to be catching cold, flu or running nose or
signs of any of them.
14. We do not encourage parents to let their children carry bags unless if necessary.
15. Please ensure your child arrives at the campus on time.
16. Please ensure your child is fetched from the campus on time.
17. Please ensure that fees are paid in due time.
18. If your child is absent for more than 2 days consecutively, please inform us accordingly.
19. Do not let your child carry any valuable items such as money, jewellery, watch or any other
things that may attract other children's attention. We shall not be held liable for any loss of
personal belongings within the premise.
20. Kindly label all belongings of your child especially bag to avoid confusion.
21. As we do not encourage high intake of sugar, please refrain from filling up your child's water
bottle with sweet drinks.

PARENT’S ASSOCIATION
“It must be
remembered that the
purpose of education is not to
fill the minds of students
with facts... it is to teach
them to think...”
-Robert Hutchins
The Brainy Stars education foundation has promoted ‘Brainy Parent’s Association’. This association
will work with the co-ordination of Brainy Stars education Foundation’s teaching staff and the
management. The Objective of the Association is to make families more prosperous and happy by
continuous reformation (Tazkiya). The families should try to adopt the values enshrined in Quran and
Sunnah.
The Association will conduct various programmes including parenting class. The Association will
organize workshops on “the art of successful marriage” in association with DMS Human Rights
Organization.

  • 4. MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMEN Brothers & Sisters, Assalamu Alaikum, B y the blessings of Almighty Allah and encouragement from the community, within a short span of one year we have achieved success in creating India’s model Islamic Montessori in Jayanagar, Bangalore. Here we have blended Montessori method with traditional method and integrated with Islamic values. This has been done under the supervision of world renowned educationalist. We have designed curriculum and prepared books. Teachers were trained to adopt the pedagogy which we have developed. The assessment system we have evolved makes teaching child centric. We have plans to open ten schools in next academic year. Al-Hamdulilah we have opened four schools and one International School(by April 25, 2014). Pen is mightier than sword; information is power; whoever controls the information he rules the world; these are the sayings of this century. But we should be proud of our faith that the importance of education, pen and information has been emphasized by Quran & Hadith, fourteen hundred and thirty years ago. A famous event from the life of Prophet (Pbuh) expresses the importance of education. The event was that: In the battle of Badr, Muslims had captured certain Makkans who were literate. Prophet Muhammad(s) entered into an agreement with them. As per the agreement captured Makkans taught Muslims reading and writing and in return they were released. The prisoners of war were non-muslims and they were not taught Quran & Hadith, but they taught them reading and writing a language and other skills. Are we taking lessons from the life of Prophet? It is general observation that most of our families do not care the child of age between 2 to 6 years. Hazrath Ali had said 0 - 7 years age is most important in the life of human beings. Strong foundation can be laid in this age.A great Islamic scholar Moulana Abul Hassan Ali Nadvi (R.A.) had said: Muslims should have same enthusiasm in opening schools, which they have in constructing Masjid and Madrasha. He also added that Allah will reward in par if anybody opens school also. He had appealed the wealthy people to open schools. Are we showing the zeal in establishing school? • 10. Parents’ handbook Brainy Stars Islamic Montessori OUR PHILOSOPHY Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has said, “every child is born on Fitrat (natural disposition)...” We nurture his/her fitrat, imbibe in him/her Iman, Knowledge & Taqwa. These three vibrant qualities will make him/her to achieve success here and in the Hereafter. OUR CONCEPT OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION It is an education which is universal and relevant to all mankind, which has no segregation between religious" and "secular" knowledge. It aims at developing the entire human aspects; physically, intellectually & spiritually. It up brings child on his nature (Fitrah) and educates him / her to play his roles as: the servant of God; His vicegerent; and as a responsible citizen of the country. "Islamic integrated curricula is essential in-developing every aspect of human potentials and producing a well-balanced being. The development of mental, physical, emotional, ethical and aesthetical aspects cannot be enhanced without the process of Islamic integration in the education system." - Ghazali Basri (A Malaysian Educationalist). The Islamic curriculum is based on Quran and Sunnah. We have shariah board which approves the curriculum and train the teachers. The curriculum teaches basics of Islam. We don't follow a particular Maslak (school of thought). We teach all unity of Ummah and to struggle for establishment of Islam in individual and collective life. However all the children and their parents are free to follow their own school of thought (Maslak). Al Hamdulilah Ulema of various schools of thought (Masalik) have visited our school examined our system and curriculum and appreciated our policy. NEED FOR INTEGRATED CURRICULUM ‘ Brainy Stars' educational system has its own assessment system. While we assess child learning process, ability and skills; we also assess that how much a child is adopting or practicing the benefits, teachings, etiquettes and Islamic tenets. For Example, if a Hadees has been taught about drinking of water or milk, it will be assessed whether the child is practicing it or not. While our assessment results is for parents to understand progress of their child, it is also for the teachers and management to understand the weakness of a student and help him to improve. • 21. MONTESSORI METHOD Montessori education: is an approach developed by Italian physician and educator and characterized by an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child's natural physical, and social development. Montessori education is practiced in an estimated 7,000 schools worldwide, serving children from birth to eighteen years old. Maria Montessori began to develop her philosophy and methods in 1897, attending courses in pedagogy at the University of Rome and reading the educational theory of the previous two hundred years. In 1907, she opened her first classroom, the Casa dei Bambini, or Children's House, in a tenement building in Rome. From the beginning, Montessori based her work on her observations of children and experimentation with the environment, materials, and lessons available to them. She frequently referred to her work as "scientific pedagogy". Montessori education spread in 1911 and became widely known in education and popular publications. Montessori education was introduced in United States in 1960 and has since spread to thousands of schools there. Montessori continued to extend her work during her lifetime, developing a comprehensive model of psychological development from birth to age 24, as well as educational approaches for children aged 0 to 3, 3 to 6, and 6 to 12. She wrote and lectured about ages 12 to 18 and beyond, but these programs were not developed during her lifetime. Montessori education: A trained Montessori teacher Some important features of Montessori Method: 1. Mixed age classrooms, with classrooms for children aged 2½ or 3 to 6 years old by far the most common 2. Student choice of activity from within a prescribed range of options 3. Un-interrupted blocks of work time, ideally three hours 4. A "discovery" model, where students learn concepts from working with materials, rather than by direct instruction 5. Specialized educational materials developed by Montessori and other collaborators 6. Freedom of movement within the classroom MONTESSORI EDUCATION THEORY Montessori education is fundamentally a model of and an educational approach based on two basic elements. First, children and adults engage in psychological self-construction by means of interaction with their environments. Secondly, children, especially under the age of six, have an innate path of psychological development. Based on her/ his observations, Montessori believed that children are at liberty to choose and act freely within an environment prepared according to her / his model would act spontaneously for optimal development. • 22. Montessori's education method called for free activity within a "prepared environment", meaning an educational environment tailored to basic human characteristics, to the specific characteristics of children at different ages, and to the individual personalities of each child. The function of the environment is to allow the child to develop independence in all areas according to his or her inner psychological directives. In addition to offering access to the Montessori materials appropriate to the age of the children, the environment should exhibit the following characteristics: Absorbent mind Montessori described the young child's behavior of effortlessly assimilating the sensorial stimuli of his or her environment, including information from the senses, language, culture, and the development of concepts with the term "absorbent mind". She believed that this is a power unique to the first plane, and that it fades as the child approached age six. Sensitive periods Montessori also observed periods of special sensitivity to particular stimuli during this time which she called the "sensitive periods". In Montessori education, the classroom environment responds to these periods by making appropriate materials and activities available while the periods are active in the young child. She identified the following periods and their durations: Prepared environment 1. Construction in proportion to the child and his/her needs 2. Beauty and harmony, cleanliness of environment 3. Order 4. An arrangement that facilitates movement and activity 5. Limitation of materials, so that only material that supports the child's development is included 1. Acquisition of language—from birth to around six years old 2. Order—from around one to three years old 3. Sensory refinement—from birth to around four years old 4. Interest in small objects—from around 18 months to three years old 5. Social behavior—from around two and a half to four years old Parents’ handbook Brainy Stars Islamic Montessori In the Montessori approach, these human tendencies are seen as driving behavior in every stage of development, and education should respond to and facilitate their expression. Human tendencies Montessori saw universal, innate characteristics in human psychology which her/ his son and collaborator Mario Montessori identified as "human tendencies" in 1957. There is some debate about the exact list, but the following are clearly identified 1. Self-preservation 2. Orientation to the environment 3. Order 4. Exploration 5. Communication 6. Exactness 7. Repetition 8. Abstraction 9. The “Mathematical mind” 21
  • 23. Parents’ handbook Brainy Stars Islamic Montessori Normalization: Finally, Montessori observed in children from three to six years old a psychological state she termed "normalization". Normalization arises from concentration and focus on activity which serves the child's developmental needs, and is characterized by the ability to concentrate as well as "spontaneous discipline, continuous and happy work, social sentiments of help and sympathy for others." 1. There is a need to continuously guide and train parents, help them resolve issues related with child behavior. We find ample guidance in the life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) pertaining to successful parenting. 'Parenting' is a part of our curriculum. We have notable advisor Dr. Ali Khawja, Chairman, Banjara Academy, who is an expert in parenting and child psychology. His guidance will be available for parents of Brainy Stars. Various Ulema and Islamic Scholars will also help in understanding parenting in Islamic perspective. Brainy Stars will, Insha Allah regularly organize parenting classes. Here we are presenting first talk of Moulana Nisar Ahmed, Mazaheri, a renowned Islamic scholar, who has exclusively spoken to executive director of Brainy Stars Mr. Syed Tanveer Ahmed. PARENTING RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT The Brainy Stars, education movement has set-up a Research and development unit to study and evolve holistic approach towards education in an Islamic perspective. We have been following the developments that are taking place in the field of education all over the world. Our team of 'Academic Advisors' is highly educated and experienced. Our team of teachers is also involved in Research and development. We have been working on the concept of PADI with our Malaysian advisor Mr. Hasni Muhammad. What is PADI? PADI stands for Profiling Assessment Development and Involvement. As per this system schools maintain profile of all the students. These profiles are analyzed from time to time by experts (Educationist, Child psychologists, Doctor) Child's development will be observed. In the development process teacher's involvement is the key factor. In the PADI system school considers parent's involvement is essential. We invite valuable inputs from parents, subject experts, educationist and child psychologists. 26
  • 28. Parents’ handbook Brainy Stars Islamic Montessori PARENT’S PARTICIPATION 1. We seek parents' continuous cooperation and participation in making their child a 'Brainy Star'. 2. The child should carry the diary to school every day. 3. The rules mentioned in the communication book of the school have to be read and strictly followed. 4. Personal details have to be filled and duly signed. 5. Parents are requested to check diary every day, though the assignment is not given on daily basis. Diary may contain information to parents and sometimes an activity meant for either child or parents. 6. Parents are requested to observe discipline of the school. Discipline makes a child to become a star. 7. Parents are advised not to adorn their child with gold ornaments. 8. Parents are requested to keep ready their children before time, if they are availing transport facility. Likewise they should be ready while they are returned from school. 9. If any parent would like to discuss academic or administrative issues they are requested to seek appointment either with Principal or Administrator. 10. We appreciate your suggestions or complaints. 11. “Early to sleep and early to rise” is the Islamic concept. Practice this noble habit with your children. This is sunnah also. Wake up children early morning offer them a glass of milk. Give them a light breakfast. Some parents don't feed breakfast in their home, instead they send “heavy lunch box” with the children. We request to the parents that mother can feed children better than teacher. Teachers have to look after fifteen students. So it is requested to feed breakfast in home and send light lunch box, free from junk food. 12. Do not send your child to the campus if he/she is found to be having fever or signs of fever. 13. Do not send your child to the campus if he/she is found to be catching cold, flu or running nose or signs of any of them. 19. Do not let your child carry any valuable items such as money, jewellery, watch or any other things that may attract other children's attention. We shall not be held liable for any loss of personal belongings within the premise. 20. Kindly label all belongings of your child especially bag to avoid confusion. 21. As we do not encourage high intake of sugar, please refrain from filling up your child's water bottle with sweet drinks. 27
