2. Who’s in the class?
The class is made up of twenty High
School Freshmen. Three students
have mild ADHD. Twenty percent are
African American and eighty percent
are white.
3. Objective
My High School Freshman will
analyze William Shakespeare’s life
and two of his sonnets by doing a
group project, having media
activities, in class discussion and
writing an essay with 100% accuracy
by the end of the week.

Introduce Shakespeare
Basic facts of his life
Divide students into groups for project
5. Day 2
Groups have time to work
Introduce Sonnet number 18
Begin to analyze
Assign essay
6. Day 3
Finish analysis of sonnet 18
Watch a short video about
Shakespeare
7. Day 4
Read Sonnet 60
Analyze sonnet
Students then work in groups
8. Day 5
Groups present
Students turn essays in
Class discussion of the week
