2. Who’s in the class?
 The class is made up of twenty High
School Freshmen. Three students
have mild ADHD. Twenty percent are
African American and eighty percent
are white.

3. Objective
 My High School Freshman will
analyze William Shakespeare’s life
and two of his sonnets by doing a
group project, having media
activities, in class discussion and
writing an essay with 100% accuracy
by the end of the week.

4. Day 1
 Introduce Shakespeare
 Basic facts of his life
 Divide students into groups for project

5. Day 2
 Groups have time to work
 Introduce Sonnet number 18
 Begin to analyze
 Assign essay

6. Day 3
 Finish analysis of sonnet 18
 Watch a short video about
Shakespeare

7. Day 4
 Read Sonnet 60
 Analyze sonnet
 Students then work in groups

8. Day 5
 Groups present
 Students turn essays in
 Class discussion of the week
