Educational Qualification
General candidates and others should have First division in Graduation in any discipline with
65% or more marks.
SC/ST/Physically Handicapped Candidates should have First Division in Graduation In any
discipline with 60 % or more marks.
Degrees which are considered equivalent to graduation E.g. CA, ICWA, CS, as also
qualifications in management like MBA / PGDBM, subject to fulfillment of criteria as regards
division and marks as stipulated above.
In addition to above, Proficiency in Computers and certificate of having completed training
from a reputed institute is also essential.
Age
Not below 21 years and not above 30 years. Relaxation in upper age limit is as per rules for

A probationary Officer in SBI Banks is designated as Junior Management Grade-1
Officer for 2 years of training/probation period.
Customer Support – Guiding Customers about the various banking facilities that
are suitable and beneficial for them. Also making those services available for
them.
Business Enhancement – The Probationary Officers are trained in the field of
Marketing, Accounting, Loans and Finances, so they can produce effective ideas
for business enhancement. Also, they can communicate with customers and
business persons smartly.
Cash Handling and Payments Clearance – Usually, these tasks are done by Clerks
but under the supervision of PO.
Manage accounts of customers and Loan Processing – The Probationary Officer
keeps track of all the customers’ accounts. He is also responsible for approving
their loan requests.

Descriptive/Subjective:
The Descriptive Test of 1/2 hour duration with 50 marks will be a Test of
English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The candidates are required to
qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by
the Bank. Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated
who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed
adequately high as per total marks in the objective test.
Group Discussion (20marks) & Interview (30 marks):
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests
and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category.
The adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the
Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. The qualifying
marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the
Bank.

Final Score Calculation for SBI PO Exam:
The final score for the SBI PO exam is calculated keeping the following points in
mind:
Marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam (Phase-1) will not be considered for
selection
Candidates must qualify Phase-2 and Phase-3 separately to be eligible
Marks secured by the candidates in the Mains Exam (out of 250 marks) are
converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of
50 marks) are converted to out of 25. This makes the new total score (Mains +
GD/PI) to be 100
The aggregate score out of 100 is used for the final merit list for each category.
Candidates with top merit rank in each category are finally selected.
