1. What After Graduation ?– Bank Exams
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, popularly known as the IBPS is an
autonomous body. It conducts recruitment examinations for all Public Sector Banks except
the SBI.
The centralized examinations covering all public sector banks’ recruitment started on
a limited scale the same year. The process was made fully online in the late 2000s.
The IBPS conducts the following examinations:

The IBPS PO Exam is conducted every year by the Institute of Banking Personnel
Selection.
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) provides recruitment and training
services to a common standard for public sector banks (PSB).
2. There are a number of bank exams that the institute conducts, out of which IBPS PO
is the most popular exam.
This IBPS PO exam enables the recruitment of probationary officers for all the
member PSBs as well as a few public sector insurance companies.

IBPS PO Exam pattern for the prelims and mains phase of the examination in detail
IBPS PO Exam Pattern – Prelims
The IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern consists of one paper with objective type
questions comprising 100 questions divided into three sections. The sections being:
Quantitative Aptitude
Reasoning Ability
English Language
IBPS PO Exam Pattern – Mains
The IBPS PO Mains exam consists of two papers, both of which are conducted online
by the Institute.
As per the IBPS PO Mains Pattern, the papers are an Objective Test and a Descriptive test.
In the IBPS PO Mains Pattern, the objective test is divided into four sections.
Only those who clear the cut off marks in prelims are invited for the mains exam.
3. Negative Marking
Penalty for wrong answers has been a constant feature of the IBPS PO exam pattern
since its inception in 2011.
The level of negative marking in IBPS PO exam has remained constant and no new
changes are expected in 2020.
According to the IBPS PO Exam Pattern,the scheme of the penalty for incorrect
answers is as follows:
Every incorrect answer attracts a penalty of one fourth(25%) of the marks allotted
to that question.
Marking two answers simultaneously is not possible in the online format of the
exam since 2013.
If an answer is left blank, it attracts no negative marking.
IBPS PO Interview
The IBPS interview is conducted for those who clear the bank PO mains exam.
As per the IBPS PO Exam pattern, the interview carries 100 marks.
Questions can be asked from Current affairs, banking awareness and about the
candidates themselves
The candidates have to secure at least 40 marks in the interview to be considered for
the merit list, irrespective of their score in other stages of the exam.
According to the IBPS PO Exam pattern, candidates belonging to the weaker sections
of society, are awarded a concession of 5 marks in the IBPS PO Interview.
The IBPS PO interview usually lasts 15-20 minutes, though associated procedures
such as document verification and background checks take up to 8 hours on the day of
the interview.
Candidates successfully clearing these stages are selected as bankers and are invited to
join one of the Public Sector Banks based on their preference and position in the merit list.
IBPS Clerk exam
4. The IBPS Clerk exam is conducted by The Institute for Banking Personnel Selection
every year. The IBPS is the authoritative body for assessing recruiting candidates in public
sector banks in India.
The 2019 exam, also known as Common Written Examination(CWE) Clerk 2019 has
been renamed as the Common Recruitment Process(CRP) 2019 and now candidates are
looking forward for the IBPS Clerk 2020 recruitment to begin.
Eligibility
Candidates must have at least an undergraduate degree in any discipline from a
recognised university.

IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern
The IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern has been recently revised by the IBPS. It is also
conducted by prelims and mains
IBPS Clerk Preliminary Examination – The first part of the IBPS Clerk exam pattern
comprising of 100 objective type questions and is only qualifying in nature
IBPS Clerk Mains Examination – The second phase of the IBPS Clerk exam pattern
comprising of 200 objective type questions. The final merit is based on the marks scored in
this phase of examination.

The total time allotted for the Mains exam is 2 hours and 40 minutes.
The total marks allotted are 200 and candidates scoring above the cut-off are invited
to join as clerks in one of the PSBs.
IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern- Negative Marking
Both examinations making up the IBPS clerk exam pattern have negative marking for
incorrect answers.
A penalty of one-fourth of the marks allotted to the question is applied for each wrong
answer.
There is no penalty if a question is left unanswered.
Selection
Once a candidate qualifies the prelims and mains examination, he/she is called for the
document verification before the final selection.
IBPS SO Exam
The IBPS SO Exam is conducted every year by the Institute of Banking Personnel
Selection to recruit Specialist Officers for different positions in the Public sector banks in
India.
IBPS SO Eligibility
The candidates ought to be an Indian national or belong to Nepal or Bhutan or
may be the Tibetan exile.
The candidates ought to carry the degree of Graduation in any stream from
some recognized school or university or instructional institute.

8. IBPS SO Exam Pattern
The IBPS has revised the SO Exam Pattern recently. The revised IBPS SO selection
process comprises of three phases:

10. IBPS RRB Exam
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts the IBPS RRB Exam to recruit
officers who will head the various Regional Rural Banks (RRB) across the country. The
recruitment is done at two levels. They are as follows:
Group A Officers: Scale-I(Assistant Manager), Scale-II(Manager), Scale-III(Senior
Manager)
Group B Office Assistants: Multipurpose Office Assistants
IBPS RRB Eligibility (2020)
To be eligible for IBPS RRB 2020 exam candidate must be:
A National/Citizen of India or
A subject of Nepal or
A subject of Bhutan or
A refugee from Tibet who came to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of
permanently settling here or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East
African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly
Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the
intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to
categories (ii), (iii), (iv), (v) and above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate
of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

should not have been born earlier than June 3rd 1979 and later than May 31st 1998 (both

have been born earlier than June 3rd 1987 and later than May 31st 1998 (both dates
inclusive).
For Officer Scale – I (Assistant Manager) – Above 18 years – below 30 years i.e. candidates
should not have been born earlier than June 3rd 1989 and later than May 31st 2001 (both
dates inclusive).
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) – Between 18 years and 28 years i.e. candidates should
not have been born earlier than June 2nd 1991 and later than June 1st 2001 (both dates
inclusive)
11. IBPS RRB 2020 Exam Pattern
IBPS RRB Exam Pattern slightly varies as per the posts. However, some of the
features are common for all prelims and main exam which are mentioned below:
The exams will be conducted in online mode that is computer based test.
Each paper has objective type multiple choice questions only
Candidates will have an option to answer the questions in Hindi or English language.
Also, they will have to choose between English and Hindi as one of the section for the
exam.
There is a provision of negative marking as well. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 or ¼
mark will be deducted.
IBPS RRB 2020 Exam Pattern-Office Assistant
Candidates appearing for the post of Office Assistant have to go through 2 Phases-
Preliminary and Main exam.

Candidates appearing for Scale I have to go through 2 Phases-Prelims and Main in
order to get shortlisted for Personal Interview Round.
13. IBPS RRB Exam Pattern–Officer Scale II
Candidates applying for Officer Scale II will have to appear for single online
examination and successful candidates will be shortlisted to appear for Common Interview
for final recruitment in various RRBs. Scale II has 2 posts to offer which are as follows:
Scale II – General Banking Officer
Scale II – Specialist Cadre
The exam pattern for Scale II of IBPS RRB is different in terms of sections and
timings. Mentioned below are the patterns for both the posts.
14. Note: For the post of Scale II (Generalist and Specialist), marks obtained only in the single
level examination will be considered for shortlisting for interview and final merit listing.
IBPS RRB 2020 Exam Pattern–Officer Scale III
Candidates applying for Scale III will have to appear for single online examination.
Candidates qualifying the exam will then have to attend the common interview round.
Note: For the post of Officer Scale III, marks obtained only in the single level examination
will be considered for shortlisting for interview and final merit listing.
15. SBI Exams are conducted by the State Bank of India to hire eligible candidates for various
posts like:
SBI Probationary Officer (PO)
SBI Clerk (Junior Associates)
SBI Specialist Cadre Officer (SCO/ SO)

The State Bank of India (SBI) administers the SBI PO exam every year to pick out
eligible candidates from a huge pool of applicants for the post of Probationary Officer.

SBI PO Cutoff
SBI will release category-wise final cutoff for SBI PO exam.
This is based on the number of candidates who appear for the exam, a number of
vacancies, previous year cut off, the difficulty level of the exam etc.
SBI PO Selection Process
Candidates in SBI PO recruitment are shortlisted upon their performances in the 3
stages mentioned below:
SBI PO Preliminary Examination
It is the very first stage of SBI PO Selection process.
SBI PO Prelims is an online objective test of 1-hour duration.
SBI PO Pre comprises of 3 sections- English Language, Reasoning Ability and
Quantitative Aptitude.
Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks in all the sections to qualify for the
next round.
SBI PO Main Examination
The main examination is the second stage of the SBI PO recruitment process.
It is a 200 marks examination, comprising of 4 sections (English Language,
Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning & Computers, and
General/Economy/Banking Awareness).
Descriptive test of 50 marks would be conducted immediately after the objective test.
The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held)
are normalized using the equi-percentile method.
Scores up to 2 decimal points are taken for the purpose of calculations.
18. Candidates are shortlisted for interview by considering the scores obtained in the main
examination.
SBI PO Group Discussion and Interview
Candidates who qualify the mains exam are eligible to appear for group discussion
and interview.
Post conduction of the interview, a combined score is generated which includes the
sum of marks obtained in main examination and interview.
The final list of the selected candidates is made upon the performance in mains and
GD/ PI round only.
It is published on the official website of the bank’s website and also in Employment
Newspaper.
SBI Clerk
The SBI Clerk is a post in The State Bank of India, also known as Junior Associate.
SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria
Essential Academic Qualification
Graduation in any discipline from any institution recognized by Central Government.
Candidates who are in the final semester/year may apply

The candidate must be between the age of 20 and 28 years.

Eligibility for SBI SO
Age
The least possible age of an applicant is in between 21 to 30 years depending upon the
Post.
The maximum age of an applicant can be in between 62 years.
Nationality
Only Citizens of India are eligible to apply for SBI SO 2020.
OCI and NRIs cannot apply for the exam.
Educational Qualification
The educational criteria and experience vary depending upon the post applied for. The criteria
for different posts are given below:
For Developer, Test Lead and Tester post:
The candidates should be graduated in engineering from a government recognized
university/institute.
An Applicant should have some experience in IT sector.
20. For Assistant Manager (System) post:
Applicants must own a B.E/B. Tech in Information Technology/Computer
Science/Computer Application/ Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunications/
Electronics & Instrumentation / Electronics & Communications.
Applicant should have some experience in computer programming from a reputed
organization.
For Technology Relationship Manager (Tech.RMs) post:
Candidate should be a graduate in Engineering from any recognized University
/Institution.
Preference is given to the contenders with MBA qualification.
Minimum 8 years of experience in IT Industry/ Business is needed for this post.
For Manager and Assistant Manager (Technician) post:
One needs to have a full time PG Degree in Econometrics/ Statistics/ Applied
Statistics.
Minimum experience of 1-4 years is required for this job position.
SBI SO Exam Pattern
SBI SO is conducted every year for SO posts in SBI. It is conducted only in online
mode. There are multiple-choice questions in the exam. Check out the SBI SO Exam Pattern
for a better idea of the type of questions asked in the exam.
A total of 170 problems make up the paper.
Four sections constitute SBI SO exam paper.
They are- Test of Reasoning, English language, Professional Knowledge and
Quantitative Aptitude.
There are 50 questions each in Reasoning and Professional Knowledge.
35 Questions are asked each in English Language and Quantitative Aptitude.
English is the language of SBI SO 2020 Paper.

21. There are three sections in the paper- Test of Reasoning, English language and
Professional Knowledge.
70 questions are asked from Reasoning and 50 questions are asked from English and
Professional Knowledge each.
Maximum marks are the same that is 220.
Cut Off for SBI SO
There are cut off marks for the online SBI SO exam. Qualifying candidates are asked
to come for the interview. Interview cut off marks are decided by the Bank itself. A merit list
of the candidates is also prepared.
There are numerous determining factors that decide the SBI SO cut off. Some of the
key issues affecting cut off calculation are:

SBI SO Selection Process
Candidates after taking the online test are called for an interview. Candidates are
selected for the posts after SBI SO Interview. Satisfactory number of candidates, as decided
by State Bank of India, is shortlisted based on their qualification and knowledge. The
qualifying marks for the Personal Interview are decided by SBI only.
After the process, selected candidates have to produce some documents at the time of
document verification.
22. The Reserve Bank of India conducts examinations for recruitment to various posts in the
RBI.
RBI Grade B
RBI Assistant
RBI Grade B
RBI Grade B exam is a national level competitive test conducted by Reserve Bank of
India for recruitment of officers in Grade ‘B’ (General) - DR, DEPR and DSIM in Common
Seniority Group (CSG).
RBI Grade B 2020 recruitment is conducted in three phases –
Preliminary,
Main exam
Interview Round.
RBI Grade B Exam Eligibility
Candidates must meet the eligibility guidelines issued by RBI before applying online.
The basic eligibility criteria pertaining to nationality, age limit and educational qualification
of a candidate is discussed below:
RBI Grade B Nationality
To appear for RBI Grade B Examination, a candidate must be either: —
a citizen of India, or
a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
a Tibetan refugee who is permanently settled in India prior to January 1, 1962, or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from either Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka,
Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the
intention of residing permanently in India.
Please note that candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), and (d) should possess a
certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
RBI Grade B Age Limit
Candidates should fall in 21 and 30 years of age.
However, the upper age limit for candidates with M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualifications is
32 and 34 years respectively.
Reserved category candidates are eligible for relaxation in upper age limit as per
Government of India norms.
RBI Grade B Qualifications Requirement
23. RBI Grade B Number of Attempts
If General Category candidates have already appeared 6-times for Phase-I Exam of
this post in the past, then they would be considered ineligible to apply. However, there are no
such restriction in case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD if the posts are
reserved for them
RBI Grade B Exam Pattern
RBI Grade B is a computer based test having multiple choice questions.
The paper will be set in English and Hindi except for the English language section.
RBI Grade B exam pattern for Prelims and Main exam are different as shown below:
RBI Grade B Prelims Exam Pattern
RBI Grade B Prelims exam will be of 200 marks with a total time constraint of 120
minutes. There will be specific sectional duration which will be mentioned in the admission
letter. Candidates will have to clear sectional cutoff as well as overall cutoff. Those who
obtain marks more than sectional and overall cutoffs will be eligible to appear in the Main
exam.

RBI Grade B Interview (Phase-III)
Based on the aggregate score obtained in Main exam (Paper-I +Paper-II +Paper-III),
candidates will be invited for the interview round.
RBI will decide the minimum cutoff which must be cleared by candidates in order to
be shortlisted for the Interview round.
RBI will publish the result in PDF format containing the roll number of candidates
shortlisted for the interview.
Candidates will receive interview call letters on their registered email ID.
RBI Grade B Interview round will of 50 marks.
Candidate can choose the medium for interview amongst Hindi or English languages.
Final Selection will be based on candidate’s performance in Main examination and
interview.
RBI Grade B Marking Scheme
The exam follows a uniform marking scheme for whole test.
For every correct answer, you will be awarded 1 mark
0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer
For any Unattempted questions, no marks will be deducted.
RBI Assistant
RBI Assistant Recruitmen is conducted by Reserve Bank of India to recruit candidates
for Assistant posts in various offices of the Bank. The recruitment process consists of the
prelims exam, main exam and language proficiency test.

recruitment exam:

26. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
After selection from the main examination, candidates will have to take a language
proficiency test (LPT). The test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the
State concerned (Refer Annex-IV of the official notification released). A candidate who is not
proficient in the Official/Local Language would be disqualified.
RBI Assistant Marking Scheme

The marking scheme is applicable for both Prelims and Mains:
For every correct answer: +1 marks
For every wrong answer: -0.25 marks
For every unanswered question: 0 marks
In case of LPT, it has no weightage, but it determines whether the candidate is able to handle
the local language or not. A candidate who does not pass this would be disqualified.
