Video – Fire Meet Gasoline

Construction
 The video has a strong performance and used a variety of shots to get its point
across. The use of a close up shots and frequent cutting back to the main
characters reactions allows the audience to become emotional attached with the
main character and feel sorry for him.
 The use of mise – en - scene is also very important as it allows the audience to get
relate to the artist as he is wearing casual teenage clothing.
 The universal theme of sexuality is another thing that is important in this video.
The exploration of this theme allows the video to relate to a wider audience and
the way they do it shows It in a positive light, as they create the idea that ‘love
always wins’
Planning
 Clearly a lot of planning has gone into the construction of this video. The group
have used a variety of locations, outfits and props in order to make the video
realistic and appealing to its target audience.
 The large amount of people that have been used in the party scene creates a
realistic approach. To the video.
 The wide range of shots and angles of the shots would have also needed to be
planned as the shots make the video more interesting.
Editing
 The editing is of a very high standard, as it frequently cuts back and forth to so the
reactions of the main actor. The way the editing has been constructed allows the
audience to relate and symphysis with the main actor.
 The use of colour correction in certain scenes also makes the video more realistic.
And allows for the footage to look professional and not very grainy.
Commercial imperative
 The universal theme that is being explored in this video allows the video to relate
to a mass audience.
 The video’s mise-en-scene relates to a mass audience through the use of the
costume as it is very casual.
 The party scene also relates to a mass audience because it creates the idea of
people having fun.
