2. I wanted to make sure that the main products and
ancillary tasks could be easily linked together and work
alongside one another so that when the audience looked at
one of the products they could easily link it with the other,
and want to go and see the film. I hope that the use of the
font and colours I used will make the products easily
linkable. I also think that the consistent use of film noir
conventions will help all 3 products be easily linked
together and also to get the attention of my target audience
and possibly audiences that would not normally go and see
a film like this and actually go and see my film.
3. I believe that my three media products
compliment one another. I understand the
main link between the three is the font as this
is the thing that stands out the most as it is
bold and red and it most likely to be the first
thing to catch the audiences eye. I believe the
font ‘Broadway’ has conventions of film noir as
theatre is used actively in film noir films and
the look we wanted to give our femme fatal is
as glamorous as the women people see on
broadway and as we see her getting ready in
the trailer this is a hint to show the career she
has in the film.

5. One other main aspect that links the three
together is the use of black and white image.
In modern films it is rare to use black and
white images in film, this I feel will make my
trailer stand out from the rest of the films out
at that time, which makes it an effective
marketing tool. This technique also remind
the audience who have seen any of my
products what genre the film is.
6. In my opinion another thing I think links my 3 products
together is the use of the diamond necklace. It also links
the images to the title of the film. I wanted the necklace to
be iconic in my film and products as it is one of the main
aspects and what causes the disruption in the film which
is the use of Torodov’s theory. Within all three products
the diamond necklace is seen around her neck, it is
especially visible in the magazine cover as the femme fatal
has her head tilted back, I wanted this effect as I wanted
her to look provocative and it to be obvious the necklace is
an important part in the trailer. The necklace is shown in
the trailer to be stolen and then put on the femme fatal’s
neck. This is to create enigma as to the importance of the
necklace and why she has it, we can also see a relationship
between the femme fatal and the unknown male which
makes the audience want to know more.

8. The use of the social network links on my poster
will make the product recognisable when the
audience are social networking. I used Twitter and
Facebook links in my poster. I used the social
networking links as from my audience research the
majority came back that they would prefer to have
a social network link for a film. I also hope that the
use of social networking will give free marketing, for
example if someone uses the #diamondnoir on
Twitter, it will be seen by their followers and if so
many people tweet this it will trend and be free
marketing by word of mouth.
9. My trailer and poster will be released at the same
because this gives the trailer and poster a chance
to grab the attention of the audience and make the
film recognisable for when the magazine is
released, then audiences will want to read about
the film and inform the target audience of what the
film is about and interest them, in turn they will go
and see it. With the weight I believe that the
combination of my 3 products perform the function
that I want for the overall marketing of the film to
effectively reach the target audiences and hopefully
more.
