This is the new branch of the internet. It’s heavily reliant on social
networking and it aids distribution of media products. Its users generate
content which means there is no clear divide between a media
producer and a media used.

literacy’?
"Media literacy can be defined as the ability to read a media text, in
understanding the process of communication through the construction
of an artefact and its sets of representations. The ability to read a
media text, in its visual or audio form, is itself paramount to
understanding the meaning that a text may convey which is
dependent upon the individual, psychological and sociocultural
context of the reader."

This is the new generation of online users
For example, I grew up using the internet
Whereas older people such as my parents and their parents watched the
internet grow and develop into a huge database that holds every
piece of information that you may require
The online age is more prominent than ever now that the internet is used
for industries for marketing and distribution methods
5. What is meant by ‘remix culture’?
We are currently living in a remix culture
We’ve become a part of society which encourages derivative work
This is achieved by editing pre-existing materials and connecting new
materials to create a new product, hence the term ‘remix’
6. How can I apply this to my own work?
I can apply these to my work as when considering the creation of my
music video, I will have to make sure that my work is distributed
effectively within Web 2.0 and make it relevant to the new ‘online age’
