2. General Goal: Beat my previous max repetition of 345 lbs for a single squat S (Specific): I would like to now squat 365 for a max repetition M (Measurable): I have two ways of measuring: First, if I complete my 6-week workout program and secondly, if I reach my goal of one max repetition for squat at 365 lbs. A (Achievable): My gym is located 10 miles from my house. Also, I am following a 6-week lifting program from my Football coach in order to achieve my goal. Lastly, my twin brother is there to push me and give guidance through the process. R (Realistic): I have beaten my previous max repetitions before with my squat. Also, I have completed this 6-week workout program before and know it works. T (Time): I’ll be exercising 5-6 days a week for 6 weeks straight doing different leg workouts everyday, on top of a day with squats with 4 sets at 10 reps each set. My Goal
3. Factors that Influence Success Barriers Barriers Time: It was hard to get to the gym 6 days a week due to work and the availability times of the gym. Laziness: Some days I would not feel like going to the gym due to staying up and going out all night with friends. Cost: The cost of the gym, gas, etc… gets high but luckily I made enough money to provide myself for the summer. Illness: One week I was really sick and needed rest; kept me from training.
4. My twin brother and friends supported me through out the training. They were always there to help spot my lifts and give the extra push to keep me going. Motivation was a big part of my success in my goal. I wanted to hit my best max for my squat ever! I felt that I would be letting myself down if I didn’t succeed. This training also helped me get ready for football camp this August for Plymouth Football. Resources
5. I used my Plymouth State Football’s lifting program to help achieve my goal! I use percentages of my old max every week for sets to build up to my goal. Last max for squat was 345 lbs. Record/Measure
6. I hit my goal right on target!!! I completed my squat max after six-weeks with a weight of 365 lbs. I will keep setting new goals every six-weeks and maintain the same lifting program due to the positive results. I’ve learned that if you push yourself and stay committed to your workout you can succeed and even over achieve your goal!!! Results
