4 Steps To Starting A New Fitness
Program
1) Assess Your Fitness Levels
Though you probably already have an idea of how fit you are it helps to carry
out a fitness assessment to record what your fitness levels are when you start.
You should see what levels your aerobic and muscular fitness are at.
You will also want to assess your flexibility and measure your body fat
percentage.
2) Design Your Program
Before you can even start doing anything you will need to design your program.
The first thing you will want to do is consider what your fitness goals are and
create a balanced program with those goals in mind.
Remember to factor in recovery days as overtraining will most likely lead to
injury.
3) Start Off Slow
One of the most important things you’ll need to remember is not to start out a
new routine fast.
You should build up what you are doing overtime as doing too much at once will
lead to you injuring yourself.
You may want to have a rest day for every day you exercise at first.
4) Diet
While starting a new fitness program is a commendable thing it will do you no
good unless you sort out your diet and give your body the right amount and type
of food for fuel.
You should be aiming to eat a balanced diet with all 5 of the following food
groups included; Dairy, Fruit, Grains, Lean meats, Vegetables.
