1. My Smart Goal Presentation!
Goal- My goal is to
diet in a healthy
way while
exercising to lose
15lbs. to put myself
in a better position
to lead a healthier
and better lifestyle!
2. What I want to accomplish and how I will do it!
I want to lose 15lbs!
It will not be easy and it will take a combination of
efforts to attain this goal.
I will reach my goal by eating a more healthy and
consistent diet combined with cardio and weight
lifting exercises.
I chose this topic because I feel that I have gained
too much weight and its affecting me physically and
mentally.
This goal will positively effect my personal wellness
in a multitude of ways including mental health
giving me more confidence and also with a more
balanced diet I will feel better physically and
mentally.
3. Specific- I can achieve my goal by eating healthier
and doing more cardio and exercising so that I can
lose my excess weight in a healthy way.
Measurable- I can track my progress at the end of
every week by weighing myself and making sure that I
am making progress towards my goal.
Achievable- Eating the proper portions, food, and the
timing of the meal as well as proper exercise will put
me on the path to achieving my goal.
Realistic- ten-fifteen pounds is extremely realistic. In
the past my diet was very bad and I was not getting
nearly enough exercise so burn off the calories of my
unhealthy eating habits. With the combination of both
it should be easier than I had anticipated.
Time- This isn’t something that is going to happen
overnight or within a week. I would like to set a goal
of two-three months so that I can focus on doing it in a
healthier way as opposed to just not eating or working
out. I would like to burn some fat tissue into muscle
and that adds weight.
4. Influencing Factors
One of my biggest influencing factors is my mother she is also
trying to exercise and diet so we have planned going to the
gym together and since she does the grocery shopping we
have talked about healthy dinner choices, lunches and
healthy snacks so we aren’t tempted by junk food around the
house.
With both of us on the same page we have been able to
support each other by making sure we both eat healthy and
make it to the gym on a consistent basis. This team work
approach has proven very successful over the last few weeks.
Some drawbacks that may hinder our attempt to diet and
exercise is our work schedules. I work about 50 hours a week so
finding time to get to the gym may not be easy.
5. Recording and measuring success will be done by counting
the amount of calories I intake along with an hour and half of
exercising 4 times a week. At the end of the week I will weigh
myself to see how successful I’ve been a recording my
weight.
6. Assessment
To date I have not yet achieved my goal.
I am on good pace though but must continue to
work hard, balance my diet, and continue my
efforts at the gym.
I have learned that with the right nutrition and
balanced diet that I can achieve my goal.
Over the last few weeks I already feel a difference
in my mental and physical health. I feel that I
have more energy and confidence in myself
because of the hard work I’ve been putting in. I
plan on maintaining this course of action even
after I reach my goal because I like the way I feel!
