1. If you you’re not in a good frame of mind, don’t go to
   the meeting.
2. Do your homework and be prepared.
3. Have no expectations - quality rather than quantity.
4. Don’t over do it!
5. Add these people to your contacts.
6. Add them to LinkedIn.
Example of follow up email
Hi John,


Hope you are well. It was great meeting you at the [name of event] exhibition
recently. I hope that you got what you wanted out of it.
I know that you got to speak to a number of people so I thought I’d send you a
link to my website so that you can see exactly who we are and what we do.
Please do send me any details you think I need so I can introduce you to my
contacts. It would be good to keep in touch and hopefully we will be able to do
something for each other soon.
