were female whereas only
16.67% were male. Through
this I can see that my target
audience are mostly female
therefore I must represent
them in my trailer. However,
I must ensure that I must
make the character relatable
to both gender as male are
also my target audience.

2. Over half of the respondent were aged
between 18 to 20. Therefore, the theme of
my horror movie must be relatable to that
particular age group so that they feel
represented, which may urge them to
watch the movie. However, I must also
chose a theme that is relatable to
audiences that are not the ages of my
target audiences.

3. These responses allowed me
understand my target audience more.
I got to see what my target audience
like in a horror movie. Most of the
target audience likes when the movie
was realistic or based on real story.
Also themes of psychological thriller
and music played a big part.

4. The most popular themes were mystery,
haunted and psychological. As these themes
are popular amongst my target audience I will
be incorporating these themes in my trailer.

5. Settings such as school/college and forrest
are the most popular amongst my target
audience, therefore, I am going to using
these places as the setting for my scenes.

6. Children songs/lullaby and instruments
such as cello, piano and violin were the
most popular answer when respondents
were asked what music they find the
scariest. I need to ensure that these
types of music are featured in my trailer
to create a greater impact.

7. 75% respondent prefer
horror movies that are
based on real life. The
plot of my story must
convey a sense of realism
and naturalness in order
to make my audience
believe that the story can
take place in reality.

8. Most respondent only watch
film trailers sometimes. In
order for my target audience
to want to watch the trailer I
must ensure that my movie
poster is very appealing.

9. Both fast and slow pace has
been prefered the most rather
than one particular pace. I am
going to try to include fast
paced scenes and slow
paced scenes to create a
balance and for suspense.

10. Most respondents prefer when
both music and dialogues are
included in the trailer.
Therefore, I am going to not
only feature music to stimulate
fear but also dialogues that are
haunting. This will help to
create a thrilling and haunting
ambience.
